Kelley Anne | 1619 comments The author that we are spotlighting for the month of July is Shelly Laurenston aka G.A. Aiken.

I'm pretty excited about having her be the author that we discuss this month. I started reading her books about 6 months ago and am completely hooked! She writes in the Paranormal Romance genre, and her books always have a great dose of humor. According to her website:
Originally from Long Island, New York, Shelly Laurenston has resigned herself to West Coast living which involves healthy food, mostly sunny days, and lots of guys not wearing shirts when they really should be. Shelly Laurenston is also The New York Times Bestselling author G.A. Aiken, creator of the Dragon Kin series.

Laurenston has two different websites:
www.shellylaurenston.com
www.gaaiken.com

As always, this thread is for anyone that wants to discuss Laurenston.

Also, this thread is for the Author of the Month Challenge! For anyone that's new to the group, the AOM challenge is to try to read one book/short story by the author that we are spotlighting that month. It's just a fun way to either get to know a new author, or if you are already a fan, re-read an old favorite.

Here are the books that she currently has released:

Mangus Pack
Pack Challenge
Go Fetch!
Here Kitty, Kitty!
When He Was Bad "Miss Congeniality"

Pride Stories
The Mane Event
The Beast in Him
The Mane Attraction
The Mane Squeeze
Beast Behaving Badly

Long Island Coven
Sun, Sand, Sex Anthology "My Kind of Town"
Belong To The Night Anthology "The Wolf, the Witch and Her Lack of Wardrobe"

Dragon Kin Series
Dragon Actually
About A Dragon]
What A Dragon Should Know
Last Dragon Standing
Everlasting Bad Boys

The Gathering
Hunting Season

On this thread let us know if you want to participate in the challenge and what book you are planning on reading. Then when you are finished, let us know how it was!

Any questions, please let me or Jess know! Thanks and have fun!

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I think that I am probably going to read About A Dragon. I've read the first book in that series and really enjoyed it but never have gotten around to the rest of the series. I'll probably also do a few re-reads as well!

message 4: by Shannon (new)

Shannon C. I love Shelly Laurenston and have read her Magnus Pack, Pride Stories and Dragonkin series. My fav are the Pride Stories, but really they are all good. I thought book one in the Pride Stories was the weakest in that series (good not great), mainly because it's two novellas rather than a full length novel like the other books. I started with The Mane Attraction--even though it was out of order it worked fine. I ended up being one of my fav books in the series.

message 5: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments I'll be reading Beast Behaving Badly and probably What A Dragon Should Know. Maybe even Belong To The Night. I've read and re-read all the others, several times.

Really like Magnus Pack and Dragonkin series, also like the Gathering series, can't wait to find out what's going to happen in that one.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I love this author!! I have read all of her books with the exception of Hunting Season. I am hoping it has a soft release so I can read that this month. Should be a good bet as Beast Behaving Badly was out 2 weeks early last month.

Carolyn F. I'm waiting for Beast Behaving Badly but if it doesn't come in soon I may read one of her G.A. Aiken books instead.

That book came out in June so it should be out there. But if you are waiting for it from the library that would make a differnece.

Sandra | 4734 comments Finished Beast Behaving Badly it was great, 5★. It's about the hybrids and a nasty Dee-Ann Smith.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 237 comments Okay, so I've just finished my first ever Shelley Laurenston book -Pack Challenge. It was good, not great but it was entertaining. It had me chuckling every now and then. I'm sure they get better so I'll definitely be continuing this series.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 147 comments I love Shelly Laurenston's books. I have to admit that my favorites are the lion and tiger shifters (loved Nik and Mitch). I have Beast Behaving Badly in the TBR pile, so I'll go with that first. I also have Dragon Actually, so I'll move that to the top of the pile.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) ok I am in for this challenge! I loved Magnus Pack and I do have Two of Dragonkin books so I will try to read one this month.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Congrats to those of you that have already finished! I had planned on reading About A Dragon but ended up picking up The Beast in Him for a re-read. I'm about halfway through. Once I finish it though, I'll try to get the other read too!

message 21: by Literary Ames (new)

Thank you Kelley Anne for persevering in nominating Laurenston every month until she won! I've really enjoyed the books I've read. Go Fetch! is my fave so far.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I'm glad that you are enjoying her! That was the first series of hers that I read as well. The pride series is fantastic too!

message 23: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 147 comments I like the Pride series best, too, but then I'm a sucker for cats. :-)

message 24: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Yesterday I was in a pretty bad moon. Lots of things were going wrong and I finally decided to just grab a book, ignore the world and try to escape for a while. I ended up finishing reading The Beast in Him and the humor in that book just completely turned my day around. Love it when a good book can do that!

message 25: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Who would you compare Laurentsen too? She is in my pile to read this month, but I am not a huge fan of PNR -- more of UF .....
