Misty Phelan (therealpenthief) | 1 comments Hi guys! I am a new librarian on GRs and I have stumbled across an issue...or so I think. I was merging two editions of another book by this author and when I did so it showed that he had another duplicate. The Title is the Lunchbox Diet by Simon Lovell. So I did my best detective work using both Amazon and the LOC and neither can find the ISBN from the one record. So I am thinking they are the same.

But as always I figured I'd better ask first before I went and changed the record. So any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dori (adorible) | 196 comments If these are the two records you wrote about, according to WorldCat they are. I've merged them.

Margarita (goodreadscomlibrarylady) | 9 comments I was looking up a book on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Travel-Far-Pay-...). On Amazon there is another edition with a library binding, but it doesn't have an ISBN. Should the Amazon edition be added to the book's page (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27...)?

Margarita (goodreadscomlibrarylady) | 9 comments Also, I couldn't find any evidence that a book with this ISBN exists. I found three different Boxed Set Special Editions on Amazon that aren't on Goodreads (they have AISN's and no ISBN). Should the book with the invalid ISBN be deleted? What about the three boxed editions (found by searching Gift from the Sea Special Edition at Amazon) -- do those need to be added?

Re #3: I don't know why you think it doesn't have an ISBN. It does; I added it.

Re #4: It's not an invalid ISBN, and it was imported from B&N. Please don't delete anything with a valid ISBN. And "valid ISBN" means one with a valid check digit, not merely one you find listed on Amazon or WorldCat. The three boxed editions can be added, but unless you have reason to do so (like you own one and would like to shelve it), I wouldn't bother. And I'd suspect all three are actually a a single edition, listed three times. Amazon has no way to prevent duplicates like that.
