RandomAnthony | 14536 comments That's the next Twilight movie, right? I get them all confused and out of order. Was Eclipse the last one? Whatever. The one that comes out this week.

If you're NOT planning on seeing it, how much would someone have to pay you to go? Opening night? Surrounded by teenager girls and overheated soccer moms?

I'll wait until it comes out on DVD, but I'll watch it, sure.

You?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

No. May watch it when I don't have to pay for it.

janine | 7709 comments if someone takes me for free, and gives me popcorn, i'll watch it.

message 6: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) I probably will not since I haven't seen the first two. However, (and there is always a however in life) if you are a people watcher the midnight premieres are pure heaven. Chloe and I saw the midnight premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and so many people were dressed in full pirate gear and acting out scenes... took me back to the days of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. :)

smetchie | 4034 comments Where are you Alecia? The matinees cost $12.75 here.

message 12: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Heidi, it opens tonight!! Lots of places are doing triple features where you can see the first 2 and then Eclipse at midnight.

OMG! I may have to skip out on karaoke with friends for this!

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Karaoke vs Twilight - That is a tough call :-)

You're shitting me. How much is a regular movie? Our matinees cost, like, five bucks, I think, maybe a little more, and the regular ones are around nine.

Mary (madamefifi) It makes me hate myself a little to say this but I will probably end up adding Eclipse to my Netflix queue, and eventually watching it. I never read the books and have nothing but exasperationa and contempt for the first two movies, yet I can't seem to look away. I'm apparently in it til the end.

message 28: by smetchie (last edited Jun 29, 2010 02:01PM) (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Oh you know what Misha? I definitely paid $12.75 for a matinee last week but it was in 3D. Maybe they're cheaper for normal movies.

Speaking as a semi-aquatic mammal, I must say that I, too, am disappointed at being overlooked. Nobody respects the platypus.

message 31: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Ha! Looking at the title of this thread I thought you were talking about the lunar eclipse that happened last weekend. We tried to stay up to see part of it, but couldn't see past all the darn trees on our hill.

As for the movie Eclipse.... um, nope. But Toy Story 3 & Prince of Persia, which we saw at the drive-in on Sunday, were both great. :)

message 32: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 29, 2010 06:59PM) (new)

Me too Cosmic Sher. Disapointing. A lunar eclipse is always worth a visit, although it is inevitably cloudy.

It was a deliberate ploy by RA to suck us into this thread. Or maybe I was lazy & didn't pay enough attention to the wording.

Oh well, I will be taking my daughter to see Eclipse. I am not going to mention how much it is going to cost me. Arms & legs are involved.:(

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments just came back from seeing toy story 3 with my sweetie. dang. i teared up a bit at the end. ok, more than a bit. if you have had kids leave home it was very real. was that lil girl who got the toys at the end cute or what?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm sure I'll watch it at some point. Probably with my best friend, Gretchen, who is an unabashed Twilight fan.

I don't mind going with her, but at heart I'm a Buffy girl.

message 35: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments This Gretchen is unabashed too. Jackie, is your Gretchen Team Edward or Team Jacob? (I'm so glad you have a Gretchen.) I like to type my name.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Misha wrote: "Jackie, have you ever seen the Buffy/Edward fan vid? It's priceless seeing Buffy's reaction to Edward's dialogue from Twilight."

Misha, I think I've seen it, but there've been a few different ones.

Gretchen, my Gretchen is Team Edward all the way. :)

very cute! and yes it hit home...

message 38: by Desperado (last edited Jun 29, 2010 10:54PM) (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) My mother is dragging me with her to see it tommorrow since it's her birthday. I'd rather eat my toenails then be surrounded by a bunch of Twitards screaming "Oh, Edward I freaking LOVE you!!!" but it's my mom's birthday. I have to. :(

I'm not even freaked out by the fact that my 61 year old mother is excited about seeing a Twilight movie. This unfortunate phenomenon has reached people of all ages.

message 39: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Kev, Jared teared up even more than I did. You big, brute tough-guys are all just teddy bears at heart. :)

Gail, I have yet to actually see a lunar eclipse because of clouds or trees or something frustrating like that. There is another one on Dec 21st, so I'll try again then. There's a solar eclipse in July, but I think you have to be on the other side of the world to see it. Oh well.

message 40: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicasey) No will wait for DVD or on Demand, to my daughter's distress.

message 41: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I ended up going to karaoke with the girls instead of Eclipsing it. My friend and I did the Jay-Z/Alicia Keyes duet - Empire State of Mind. Guess who was Jay-Z? :D Nailed it, too...

They were yelling "SIGN HER UP!!!" For real!

message 42: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Please God tell me someone videotaped this.

message 43: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments The person with the videotaping capability was up on stage doing the Alicia Keyes part. So, unless, some random stranger recorded it, the answer to that would be "nope."

message 44: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Saw this in a thread in a different group and had to share! Whether you're a Twilight lover or hater this is funny!
