Sorry...I've got to stop abbreviating. It's Kalamazoo, Michigan -- recently famous for it's crazy Uber drivers and angry, bicycle-hating rednecks.

Welcome all!

Where are you originally from? Virginia
Where would you like to retire to? Somewhere in Arizona

For me, I've had enough snow if its just one day, but it takes at least a day to drive to snow & a day back, and only in the depths of winter.

I am born and raised in MN
I have no idea when I want to retire to, I would like to travel more first. I don't know if I would retire in the south (more poisonous animals and bugs). During winter in MN the bugs die and spiders and snakes usually can't survive outside in our winters. hahaha
I love animals, just would rather not.

I'm originally from a small town in Virginia, just about an hour southwest of Richmond. However, I spent part of my childhood in Virginia and part (high school and college) in central Florida.
I currently reside in lower Alabama, not far from the Florida state line.
As far as retirement goes, I'm torn between Virginia and central Florida. Florida, because I hate cold weather, and Virginia, because it has such gorgeous scenery, no matter the season. Ideally, if I were independently wealthy, I would divide my time between the two states. Either way, I'm definitely a born and bred southerner.

I'm from the little town of Blackstone in Nottoway county. As well as being about an hour from Richmond, it's also fairly close to Petersburg and Colonial Heights. Fort Pickett is located just outside of town. It's a pretty, quaint little town, with lots of lovely, old Victorian houses.
I've never been to Newport News, but my parents lived there for a while before I was born. My father worked as a civilian firefighter at Fort Monroe.
I think what I miss most about Virginia are the glorious spring flowers and the gorgeous fall colors. Then again, Virginia in the summer is just so wonderfully green. The snow in winter is pretty (especially if you don't have to drive in it) and never very deep by Northern standards, but I'm just not a fan of cold weather. And like most Southerners, I really suck at driving in snow. :D
I

I'm familiar with Blackstone. A friend of mine lives there. It's a nice spot. :)

I would love to visit the Scottish Highlands! Definitely on my bucket list. :)

That's where the Sequoia Nat'l Park is located, yah? We drove through there when traveling up to Washington. Beautiful!

You're young, Miss Josie - lots of time left for some traveling! :D

Originally from Brazil.
And would like to retire to Narnia, Hogsmead, Middle Earth or any Urban Fantasy city....But if not possible, then I would love to go someplace cold. But, honestly, if I could I'd keep moving around the world. So many places to go.

Yes! Our redwoods are amazing, and it's a gorgeous spot to live.
