Heidi Jazzie I looked at your tbr pile and off your list I would read The Help and Shiver. I liked both books. I am reading North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley now, I'll keep you updated on whether it is worth your summer read list.

S.S. (ssrice) | 75 comments I just put on my list:

Daniele Lanzarotta (danielelanzarotta) | 19 comments Fallen was really good! I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

When you write your comment in the box if you look above the box to the right it says 'add book/author'. When you click that you can add books by the cover or by title alone...

Finished with North of Beautiful and you MUST add it to your summer read list :)

message 8: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I also really enjoyed North of Beautiful and highly recommend it. For a light summer read I would recommend The Truth about Forever and Just Listen both Sarah Dessen and on my re-read list.

My summer reading list, so far, includes Graceling, Forever, Scarlett Fever, Some Girls Are.

message 9: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (maezyreads) I'll be plugging through my to-read list this summer. There are also a couple of books I want to read that are coming out during the summer so I can't wait to get those in my hands.

I read Hex Hall and liked it - just wish I didn't have to wait a year for the next one!!

Girls That Growl

message 12: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments Well...alot.
First, I have a list of 12 classics by French authors for school that must be read...blah.

Then, other than that:

Going Too Far - Jennifer Echols
Hourglass - Claudia Gray
Book of Love - Abra Ebner
Dark Flame - Alyson Noel
Dreamland - Sarah Dessen
Ever - Gail Carson Levine
Forget You - Jennifer Echols
If I Stay - Gayle Forman
Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick
Keeping the Moon - Sarah Dessen
Perfect Chemistry - Simone Elkeles
Sing Me To Sleep - Angela Morrison
Strange Angels - Lilith Saintcrow
Strange Fate - LJ Smith (if it comes out!)

many others...but those were just a few!

message 13: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hey Alyssa I'm reading Going too Far right now. It's smaller than I thought it would be.

message 14: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments IK! it's sooo short! is it good?

message 15: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yes, it's not normally a book that I'd like, but I really do kind of like it so far. And it's 245 pages, but it's paperback and short (lengthwise), it's almost the size of a typical paperback, just really thin.

And I was staring at the cover and realized that the eyebrow is really fake, not even a good photoshop :P

Next up is North of Beautiful (because it has to go back to the library in a few days).

message 16: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Jazzie, I'll post my list as soon as I figure it out :P

I loved both Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols and North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley ! Both fantastic stories! I hope you enjoy them as well, and yes, the eyebrow is WAY fake.

message 18: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I ended up not liking it! I couldn't take Meg after a while.

I wonder why they bothered with the ridiculously fake ring when they didn't even mention it in the story. Maybe to show us that Hey, this girl is different?

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I don't really have a summer reading list. At the moment I'm listening to Labyrinth (not YA) on CD & its forever long AND ALSO reading Johnathon Strange & Mr. Norrell (also not YA) and it's very long as well. This is my 2nd attempt at this book. Whenever I finish I do plan to read Dead Tossed Waves & Finnikan of the Rock but who knows when that'll be.

For those wanting to read Hex Hall - DO IT! I absolutely loved that book. One of my fave YA in awhile.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments So far the audio book is good. On CD it's weird when they switch between places & times because sometimes I'm not aware of where/when they are. As I get further into the story I can let you know what I think. (It's a 19.5 hr audio book....eek!)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments Jazzie wrote: "Wow you guys thanks!Especially you Alyssa- you gave me a whole bunch!"

NP! lol, actually, you guys all helped me figure out what to read. theres a billion of my to-reads out there, but i'm not so sure how i'll find everything...and how i'll read them all....

ALSO, an add-on to my list: The entire Luxe series, after the 1st. I want to see how the characters turn out....

I'm sorry you didn't like it Peep! As for the cover-so many books have covers that don't make sense, I stopped trying to figure them out. But in this case I'm willing to bet the eyebrow ring on the cover was, like you said, there to show she's different considering they don't show her blue hair.

How did you like North of Beautiful?

message 23: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) It's alright. I'm glad I read it though. Not only the cover, but I felt the tag and the title were misleading, too.

I liked North of Beautiful, it was actually really sweet. I can't remember what I wrote in my review though :P

message 24: by Tanya (new)

Tanya Mac (yoyochkmeouthotmailcom) | 45 comments This isn't a YA book but I just finished it and it was awesome....My Name is Memory by Anne Brashares. It's one I couldn't put down.

Yeah, when I picked up Going Too Far, because of the cover and description, I expected it to be a cheesy overly dramatic romance but was pleasantly surprised. I love stories with a lot of romantic tension and the whole "will they, won't they" thing going on, so this was right up my alley.

I just finished it and was all like "awwwwwww"

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments Jazzie wrote: "Oh you've read the first one? How is it?"

really, really good! a bit like Gossip Girl (the show as I refuse to read the books!)

message 28: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I dunno - I just don't wanna ruin the TV show for me! Have you read Gossip Girl?

North of Beautiful or Going to Far?

message 30: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackie1301) | 75 comments Don't have a real Summe reading list, just continue with the books I really want to read:

1. Wait for the delivery of "Linger"
2. Will finish the Wicked Lovely Series (started Fragile Eternity this morning)
3. Fallen is waiting for me as well as
4. the 2nd book of the Black Dagger series

message 31: by Chachic (new)

Chachic Peep, too bad you didn't like Going Too Far because I loved it and I can't wait to read her next one, Forget You. I'm adding North of Beautiful to my wishlist because it seems like a good one.

message 32: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I highly recommend North of Beautiful. It's such a sweet story.

message 33: by Karissa (new)

Karissa Well, I don't exactly have a reading list. I just go to the library and grab grab grab whenever I see a book that's even remotely interesting.
I will say this though: This seems like the summer for Kevin Brooks books. I've read probably five of them this summer alone.
I currently have these books to be read within I suppose the next four weeks:

Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien
Bullet Point by Peter Abrahams
Chasing Lincoln's Killer by James Swanson
Jude by Kate Morgenroth
Koyal Dark, Mango Sweet by Kashmira Sheth
Little Blog on the Prairie by Cathleen Davitt Bell
My Abandonment by Peter Rock

And I have this on audio I just picked up:
The Compound by S.A. Bodeen

message 34: by Priscilla (new)

Priscilla | 30 comments I have just added another YA to my summer reading list Witch and Wizard Witch and Wizard by James Patterson by James Patterson. I have been waiting for this for a while
