I've had Princeps' Fury on my shelf forever trying to get a break in my current reads... I'm reading from the library right now and have a couple of nonfiction library books to finish to. I'm most of the way through . After that I hope to put the Codex Alera books back on my currently reading list.....hope springs eternal they say.

The other story in the book is very different. It's still highly sensual, but I've never made it through it. It just isn't my thing.

Tracey, I did have a deal with Tressa at Horrors that I would feast on all the men before I feast on the women, so you're safe for a while. Before I feast on you, I would feast on Tressa. She has some great marbling. But being a Republican, she is bitter. I might settle for meat that is tough but sweet.

Gawd, tell me about it. Ever since my divorce, a guy lasts only 1 month with me. 1 mos. is when you start to see his flaws. I'm so happy doing stuff on my own, with no obligations to anybody, unless a guy can go with it or add to it, there's no need for him.

No I haven't seen the new movie yet, but plan to next week sometime, if possible.

Finished The Rising this morning and I'm a little depressed. I enjoyed it okay, but...what an ugly book. I need something lighter, happier, something that makes me happy to be alive and human. I've been meaning to reread The Hobbit so I'll be starting on that today.

Finished AA - gave it 3 1/2 stars. Definitely liked it better than SoM, but don't feel compelled to run out and get the next two in the trilogy based on it. I probably will do within the year, though, just to get a certain someone off my back about it. ;) (J/K - I like when Dawn's on my back. It's kinda sexy. LOL)

Now I'm starting on Mysteries of the Diogenes Club by Kim Newman. (I love Kim Newman. He wrote one of the best vampire stories I've ever read - Anno Dracula.) It's a short story collection, so I might put it aside to read Hounded once I get it from the library.

Colleen. I don't remember hearing anyone else say they read Anno Dracula- it's one of my favorite books- as were the rest of the series- Newman is a wonderful, literate author. I just read Hounded- IMO a charming, amusing story with a great puppy.

Anno Dracula is a severly under-rated book. Doesn't help that it was out-of-print for awhile there. I didn't like the second as much, but I liked the third.

Some of the characters from The Diogenes Club books made a cameo in AD, and the story I finished tonight made a reference to a contingency plan should the monarch of Britain be overcome by a supernatural consort. ;D

L A Banks passed away :( I haven't gotten to read her books yet but I loved her articles on writing. She was witty, fun and definitely a help to so many people. This is so sad :(

While she was not my favorite author, she was a rather young author and I enjoyed a lot of her work. What I liked about the Vampire Huntress series the most is that when my BFF's mom would yell at me for reading such "goddless garbage" I could always pull out an LA Banks book to show that religion and fantasy don't have to be at odds with one another.

I was too when I saw it posted on facebook MrsJoseph and I immediately wanted to cry. It was just so fast and she's one of several authors who passed away young or lost family members young this year alone :( I need to move her books up in my tbr and buy them so the family will have that much more toward her medical bills.

I'm currently reading God Stalk by P.C. Hodgell. It's an oldie from 1983, but I inadvertantly bought the 3rd and 4th books without realizing they weren't the beginning of the series. Luckily, a friend of mine had the first 2 books and lent them to me.

I haven't read any of L.A. Banks' books, either, but it's always very sad when someone young passes away.
