well...binya's blue umbrella is a book by ruskin bond... i'd read the book long time back and i had seen the movie.."the blue umbrella" which is based on ruskin's book...binya's blue umbrella..well...you can also watch the movie..it is about an old person..who wishes to get binya's blue umbrella.binya is a village girl who had got the great japanese umbrella in exchange of a pendant-an ordinary pendant of ivory usually worn by village people...she had exchanged the pendant with a foreigner...a lady who had come as a tourist....so the old man was really reluctant to get the umbrella...and...now you must read it by yourself...otherwise the whole suspense will be revealed and there will be no fun...a very interesting story...read it...!!!!
I'm really thrilled......bcz my name is binya. So I should read this book .........thank u so much Mr.Ruskin bond.......
'The umbrella was like a flower, a great blue flower that had sprung up on the dry brown hillside.'Plot:
Binya exchanges her leopard claw pendant for a beautiful blue umbrella. The umbrella is the prettiest in the village makes her the envy of everyone in the village, especially Ram Bharosa, who will do anything to get his hands on that umbrella. Will he succeed or fail?
“She was always ready with her smile, and would willingly have lent it to anyone who was feeling unhappy.”
I don't usually read short stories but, the reason I read this
★ It is written by Ruskin bond
★ It was laying on my bookshelf
I really enjoyed the simplicity and the writing, I mean it's written by Ruskin bond, what would you expect but I'm not sure why it needed a separate book.
This my opinion on the book
