I love American History, but a lot of times an interesting person or event in AH will send me off on a tangent reading a few books to get better context of the event or person.

Hi, My name is Beth and I enjoy the darker side of history. Crime history and topics such as that.I am looking for a realistic book about Jim Jones and the Peoples TEMPLE. I am also looking for a realistic book on Bonnie and Clyde.
I live close to where they were shot and have read one booj on the subject but would like to read more.
Any and all book suggestions are wanted and welcome.
THANKS, Beth Carpenter
Beth,I haven't read it, but I've had My Life with Bonnie and Clyde by Blanche Caldwell Barrow recommended to me. Let us know if you read it and if it is any good!
I agree with Susanna, I like a little bit of all history. Right now I am enjoying religious history. I also enjoy Scottish, Irish and Prussian history. Theses last three mainly because I am researching my family and these are areas of interest.
Jumping back into modern history of Middle East (WWI to present). Decided to re-read, From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman. I had read this book in the summer of 2002. I’m now waiting on a book on the Belfour Declaration
I’m revisiting period from the end of WWI to current conflicts in Middle East. Just completed From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman and Eisenhower 1956 by David A. Nichols now starting up Paris 1919 by Margaret Macmillan...I would appreciate any other recommendations
