i love him when he's sweet. whenever i read the NH series i always was laughing at some point or smiling like an idiot in love for bones.
Love his sense of humor, his accent, his devotion and his "skills". He's hot and sexy, yet he's very cool - James Dean type of cool. He's one of my all time favorite characters!
Bones is amazing in every way. I love his character - so witty, powerful, loving, dashing, charming...well the list goes one. But there is something so different about him, different from other male heroes - even my favorites. He doesn't respond the way I expect and that makes him even more fun to read. He can't be bated into anger by enemies and he fights dirty without batting an eye - total lack of shame. I love how he doesn't smother Cat and sees her as strong and capable. But he never forgets her either and demonstrates his love unabashedly.
Bones just makes my heart flutter when he's on the page. I don't think a mere mortal like myself could survive him in real life. HA! Seriously, his charcter is so compeling. He's witty, he's wicked in the most sensual way, he's handsome (HOT), he has a sexy accent, he is strong, but is not afraid of a strong woman. He really loves Cat completely and they are sooo passionate. Ah man, I keep saying this in all my posts, but I really am going to read them all again soon, it's been since December that I read the last book! Too long to go without. Of course I read the first spin-off and it was great and am so very much looking forward to the next one, but I really want some Cat and Bones focus.
wonderful description of bones, jesse. love it. i like the spin off series but god, ive been deprived of bones and cat for too long now. i need my fix.
So, let's cast him!!! Who has the charm, charisma and strength, body, looks, etc to play Bones on the screen???
I also think that it needs to be said or confessed...I've started talking like Bones. I can't help but read his parts with an English accent and now I'm going around saying things like, "right then", "blimey", "hallo luv" and "bollocks!"Its fun..and I'm not ashamed to say....it makes me feel closer to him. :-)
Bekah wrote: "So, let's cast him!!! Who has the charm, charisma and strength, body, looks, etc to play Bones on the screen???"I've read somewhere that she didn't mean to, but I always see Spike off of Buffy! a little taller and a little thicker, but Spike's face is who I see.
Jesslynn wrote: "Bekah wrote: "So, let's cast him!!! Who has the charm, charisma and strength, body, looks, etc to play Bones on the screen???"I've read somewhere that she didn't mean to, but I always see Spike..."
What trips me out is the guy that's on the book covers. I mean he is hot and all, but the dark hair? It throws me everytime.

I know!!! I think and the last two books he might have actually had brown curly hair, but in the 1st book it was short and blonde! Too funny!
i never picture blonde through all the books ive read its always brunette i picture. i simply cannot picture him as a blonde. and i dont even remember reading that he is a blonde except in one foot in the grave. i like him a brunette.
Mariya wrote: "i never picture blonde through all the books ive read its always brunette i picture. i simply cannot picture him as a blonde. and i dont even remember reading that he is a blonde except in one foot..."I almost always prefer The Dark Ones to blondies or gingers, but I almost always picture him as in his 1st description w/the peroxide dye job! Seriously...i just can't see him any other way sometimes.
I hated that he was blonde in the beginning. It just never matched him at all. I think it was only dyed blonde then it grew out to his natural brown. The only other time I can think of was, well I cant say without spoiling it, but it was only for a short time and had a REALLY good reason for happening.
I can't ever picture him as blonde either. I know he was described that way in the beginning, but his attitude was totally tall dark and handsome to me, so it made sense that his natural color turned out to be brunette! I liked Spike from Buffy as Spike in that series, but I just can't picture him as Bones. I just don't think he's sexy and manly enough...I know I know, I probably have some of you cursing me right now. To defend myself, like I said, I did like him in Buffy, and he was sexy as Buffy's adversary and eventual lover, but he's just not Bones to me. Bones to me, is the most amazing looking man I can picture. He is everything that is masculine in the hottest possible way, but with a touch of nobilic (made up word??)refinement that gives him the ability to be arrogant without disliking him for it. I have the hardest time when thinking of casting him because I have him made from scratch in my own mind. I'd have to really think about it to even come close. Hmmm, but it will be a fun google search, that's for sure!
I would like to know who the guy that poses for the Night Huntress book covers is. He is way hot and I would like a close-up of him.
i think i always pictured him brunette b/c blonde just isnt bones! and plus i seen the model for bone in books 3-4, i seriously dont remember her describing him as a blonde though. until one foot in the grave. but for his chracter and the way he acts and everthing about him, he is a brunette.
Jessa wrote: "I would like to know who the guy that poses for the Night Huntress book covers is. He is way hot and I would like a close-up of him."yeah me too...he's pretty close to how I picture Bones. Maybe I was influenced by the covers, I don't know, but I like him.
yea. sometimes im influences by the covers. i like most of the cover models on books, there's a few i dislike. and the bookcover bones is pretty damn close to how i picture him. i want a tv series so bad, it would be awesome.
Yuck!! I hate TV series and movies of books. I realize that it's probably an author's wet dream to have their books made into movies and series, but they ruin them every time! The ppl are never as I picture them. Never act the way I think they should! Blah.
there r very few that r actually good and i think it all depends on which producer it is or company that takes up the book. i know of like very few that r really good and i liked. but i think its the movies that suck though. i can see this lasting as a tv series though.
i agree that there r a lot that suck after made into a tv series or movie but i would just love to see all this on screen acted out.

i knoe. me too. before i had read any of them i had bought all 4 of them at the same time so i wouldnt have to run back up to the bookstore to get the next one and so on.
and then i seen the bookcover bones so that was how i always pictured him, never as a blonde...to me bones just isnt a blonde. and reading his character in the book before i seen anything, any bookcovers i'd still see him as a brunette..

I just finished book 4 and im totally in love with him! i was so impressed with his fight with Cat, and the way he layed it all on the line to. get all of her! it was so great! loved it!
I really disliked that he was pressuring her! That's my only complaint w/this series. I'm sure it was inevitable that she would become a vampire, but he pulled a big sulky "if you loved me,..." routine. I was irritated w/it.
i dont really think he was pressuring her. i think when he said that he didnt mean to he was just so angry and hurt that cat left wit gregor so he said things that he didnt mean to say. i think that they still couldve been together as cat being a halfbreed.
i think the decision left down was b/c of gregor and gregor only. he pushed so many buttons wit them he led her to becoming a vampire and plus spade had a little convincing to do wit her.

Bones was so mad and so mean, he truly had me believed it was over. Like I've mentioned Bk 4 was like a roller coaster. I love a man with a backbone...was Cat wrong for leaving with Gregor and try to get the memory of that one month back? I wouldn't, especially after Bones said that we wouldn't if it would potentially unreveal their marria " ...but perhaps our marriage means more to me than it does to you." ouch...
i think that bones shouldve clued her on somehow that they werent gonna lose that battle wit gregor's men or whtever b/c thats the reason why she went, and plus i think that she derserves to knoe wht happens wit her memories and all. i mean they r her memories and its not to bones to decide if she shouldnt have them back or not.
i just think bones was scared that once she seen her memories, wht would happen would she fall for gregor and go back to him, he really loves her and doesnt want to lose her. so sweet.

I agree, Mariya. I think Bones should have clued her in to what the plan was and since he didn't I don't think he should have been so harsh on her. I do love some angst in a relationship....and Cat/Bones does it well. I cried when Bones left her. *sniffles*
I am truly having Cat & Bones withdrawal. Trying to read the next series (Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny) but I can't focus. So far it's just senseless sex, no passion, wits or enticing plots. Waiting for Demonica at the library tomorrow and i'm also having N.Singh too. Heard their characters are competible to Bones and BDB. Any thought?
Lady Vale wrote: "Demonica series and NS are as good as the night huntress for sure, for me they were even better. I didn't like the Mona Lisa series. Not bad, just nothing important going on, too much sex."What?!?! You like those other series better than Nighthuntress? That's blasphemy, Lady Vale. LOL! I bet you wouldn't say the same for the Fever series. ;-)
I liked Demonica but not better than Night Huntress. I'm probably about to commit some blasphemy of my own but I couldn't get into the Psy-changeling series. I read the first one (Slave to Sensation) and it just didn't do it for me. *ducks and runs*
Lady Vale wrote: "Oh, but I didn't like the first one that much as well. I started to get addicted to it with book 2. Have you read the 2nd?"No, but if you recommend it I'll give it a try. The first book was slow, imo. The 'world-building' was confusing. Does it get easier to follow?
Lady Vale wrote: "yes it does, and don't worry, I'm a huge fan of the series and I felt the same way. I mean, I liked the first but got really confused and the romance in it wasn't as good as the ones in the rest of..."Okay, I'll give it a try just for you! LOL. I think it was all the 'inner mind' stuff that had me confused. It wasn't at all easy to follow. But, I'll be glad to give Book 2 and Book 3 a try.
Lady Vale wrote: "Great, because they are totally worth it. I got confused as well at the beginning. Let me know once you read them Jessa. I can't wait to see what you think about the others."I'll let you know!
Okay, back on topic. I love Bones. Can I have one just like him? ;-)
What series are you talking about when you say, NS? As for Cat and Bones; Book 4 broke my heart over and over, but that's why it was so great! I love how their relationship has problems and it's not all sugar and daisies. It's real, raw, and hard, just like any marriage.
Nalini Singh (she's the author). She has two series out. Psy-changeling and Guild Hunters. Yes, Jen. Book 4 was very emotional. My heart broke right along with Cat's when Bones left her and then broke again when she saw him kissing that other women. *sigh* Such a good series.
Thanks for great recommendations AND comparison I can live with. Wow, really? Fever, NS Series and Demonica are better than NH? I'm picking up Demonica, NS and Fever...in this order at the library. Can't wait to counter or agree with you Lady Vale!Mona Lisa is picking up interest since I don't have anything on hands. Her heart felt breakup with Gryphon redeemed somewhat. I'll finish the first book.

hahaha. crazy woman, but dont we all go crazy for barrons??...of course. 8)

hmmmm, Fever or NS or Demonica, so many choices, loving it. Can't wait to debate who's the best man!
Ok, I think he'd make the perfect Bones:http://cdn.buzznet.com/media-cdn/jj1/...
