I'm actually in Maryland now. But I grew up in Western Ma and am moving back here in July. I'm moving to Agawam. I was hoping there'd be some active groups. There weren't any in the area where I am now.

Sort of outdoorsy. I'm more of a historical site visitor. Not so much of a hiker.
One thing that's great about New England is that other states are pretty close. You can do a lot of day trips there. My daughter is not happy about moving. But if I'm going to be a single mother of a soon to be teenager-I want live near my mommy and 2 brothers, sort of close to a 3rd brother and right next door to my sister. I have no friends or relatives here.

I'm looking forward to finding new places to acquire cheap books.

There's a used book store that I love to go to called Annie's Book Stop. Here's a list of locations: http://www.anniesbooks.com/locations....
I'm not sure if any are near where you're moving to, though. Most of the locations I've been to are pretty small, but the books are usually at least half off. ;)

I'm not sure how far west you are, but the Boston area has plenty of historical sites. And for your daughter, trips to New York City can be lots of fun. :D

and Rhode Island beaches are AMAZING!
