Sheila Welch (sheilakellywelch) | 5 comments Hi! I am NOT giving my age! I will say that one of my daughters is a middle school librarian, and we enjoy chatting about the books we read. I'm the mother of seven (six adopted), a former special ed teacher, a former community college instructor of children's literature, a volunteer dog walker/trainer at the local animal shelter, an owner of a registered therapy dog who listens to kids read at the public library, and an author/illustrator of children's short stories and books. I've written one YA book using a pen name. I love reading -- no matter what age the book is intended for. NO, I'm still not revealing my age!

Erin Schneider (erinlschneider) | 6 comments Hi Sheila!
I had to laugh at your intro... :)
Love that you have a therapy dog and volunteer at the local shelter - I'm a huge animal lover (1 GSD and 2 cats)...and only could wish my dog could be therapy trained!
Welcome to the group - I'm new here too! I'm an aspiring YA author and have 2 completed manuscripts and am working on my third.
And no, I promise I won't ask you your age. :)

Rita Webb (ritawebb) | 183 comments Welcome to the group, Sheila! I'm new to this group too, and I love to read everything I can get my hands on.

I am an animal lover too. I have a cat who adopted us when she was a stray kitten. Based on her teeth, the doctor guessed she was 6 months old, but we had thought she was 10 weeks based on her size. She was only 2 pounds when we brought her into our house one cold December day.

Somehow she seems to know I'm talking about her because she has come over to groom me and purr loudly in my ear.

And I won't ask you your age either. I'm happy to discuss books with you whether you are 5 or 95.

Laura (apenandzen) Yup. Welcome Sheila. I promise, we don't bite. Old and crusty, young and rusty, or anything in between. ;)
