Welcome, Adalie and Deanna!

You two have chosen my two fave Austens at the top of your lists! Great minds think alike! :) Glad to have you here!

Deanna (stackshavemercy) Thanks for your welcome, Rachel. Good to find other fans. I always feel like I'm going home and to visit old friends when I reread her books. It's amazing how timeless they are. I love Georgette Heyer's regency books, but no one tops Austen in my opinion!

I'm sorry I can't say which version of Sanditon I read and I lent it to a friend who never returned my copy.

Susan | 1 comments My absolute favorite Jane Austen novel is Pride and Prejudice. I have read it more times than I can count over the years.

Michele (myavino) | 28 comments My favorite Jane Austen book is really everything but Mansfield Park. I tried to get into it. I love all the others for different reasons. I think it really depends on my mood and whatever I'm going through at the time, that defines which books is my favorite. It's just hard becuase there is something to take away from each book.

Grace Pride and Prejudice is my absolute favorite. I have read more than any of the others. I can't get enough of this book. I love all of her work but this is my hands down favorite.

Lois Merritt (ov_099) My top three are - P&P, NA and Mansfield Park. The last three I really, really liked - Emma, S&S, Persuasion. I really can't say I liked Lady Susan (but awfully impressed that Jane wrote it! LOL), but so wish she finished Sandition. I loved that fragment!

That's it...because I haven't seen the rest but I will after a load of other movies I dearly want to see.

Pride and Prejudice was always my favorite until I read Persuasion as well. There is something more real about it that makes it easier to relate to.

Patricia Gulley Has anyone read The Watsons? The fragment or even the finished edition, Emma Watson, by Joan Aiken?
Is anyone even interested in that incomplete work? If so, you might enjoy this news article:

Patty (proseman13) My favorite Austen novel is Pride and Prejudice, but Mansfield Park is definitely a close second! I do love them all dearly though.

message 312: by Patty (new)

Patty (proseman13) I'm also very obsessed with Persuasion because I'm so much like Anne Elliott :) does amyone else ever relate themselves to one of Austen's characters?

message 313: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (sabrinassc) | 3 comments Pride and Prejudice is my all-time favorite (I love Mr. Darcy!), followed closely by Mansfield Park and Persuasion. But I do love them all! I haven't read Northanger Abbey as many times as the others (maybe only twice?), so I might have give it another go!

At times, I see some of myself in Fanny Price and Anne Elliot. I'm happy to report I am nothing like Emma (too snobbish)!

Teri Wilson | 3 comments Pride & Prejudice, of course. I could pick it up and start reading from any point in the book and perfectly happy.

message 320: by Jackie (new)

Jackie Campbell (xoxojackie) Hey everyone, I'm Jackie.

I can't pick a favorite, I've read Emma and Pride & Prejudice at least ten times each. Every time I pick Pride & Prejudice up, I go, "Who am I kidding? This is so much better than Emma!" That is, until I start reading Emma again, at which point I reverse that statement.

I haven't gotten around to Mansfield Park yet, so who knows? The question might get even more complicated after that.

Shameless self promotion: I actually just started a book review blog, and Emma was the first book I featured. Check it out, if you'd like.
