Love that book. Actually, that was the one that made me say, maybe I can submit my own work. Because although I don't aim to compete with James Buchanan, I could totally identify with her story and characters. So good.

Yepp wow is the only word that can describe the book; it's one of my all time favorite; u should try the sequels too :D"
Sequel(s)... I was only aware of the one follow-up. Hmmmm.
A.

Hey Bubbles,
S'up?
A.

I think that one was among my first purchases last year.

That's cool :)
To have a turning point like that.
My turning point came after spending so much here and talking to a writer I know through NaNoWriMo. It made me decide to ditch the studies and start focussing solely on writing.
No regrets yet :)

There's the longish one, Natural Disaster, and two shorter ones,Light Touch and Running Away to Home.

Moving onto my second by Josh... "Snowball in Hell".
Thanks to both writers they're going on my fav's self."
You say favs shelf, but when I went to your bookshelf, no favs shelf. Everyone should add a favorites shelf (I don't have one either - but I should!)

Far better than Bareback IMO>

Oh, James has written better books, I concur. But there was just something compelling about the characters, as with all James' books, actually.
James is one of my favourite authors.

This is my first book by this author, so I can't make a comparison, but I loved it. I purchased his Taking the Odds series as well.

Oh, that one is Brilliant!!

Personal Demons is Brilliant. (err ... sorry for repeating myself)
Actually ... that's the one I read twice, kept thinking 'I read a book like this already' until I reached page 100 or so (on my ereader) and read 'eyeball' and I realised the book about the same subject was this book *headdesk*
And that perfectly demonstrates how my memory works when reading books *sigh*

LOL. I read it twice because I knew I had and I knew I liked it a lot, but I couldn't quite remember it.

U mean Deviations right? It's bdsm and stuff so ignored it :[

mmmm...I *really* love the guys from 911 -- one of my first forays into straight (as it were) M/M. By which I mean, one where the M/M *ahem* 'scuse me, M/M/M romance was the focus of the book, rather than a side-story.

I know ; don't like menage either; unfortunately I tried it and didn't know it's menage so u can guess what my expression was :{

Finished already :D 3stars for me though
Can u suggest something similar to your life lessons series?

I love Jane Yolen!
Have you read Heatstroke? It's a sob fest, but with an HEA.

Wow, that's flattering. If you want a sob-fest you could check out the hurt/comfort bookshelf and "best gay couple in health and sickness" under the Lists, lists thread on M/M romance if you're a group member.
Lots of Amy Lane (like The Locker Room and Promise Rock series if you somehow missed those.) Shades of Gray golly there's a lot out there.

Read all of those and Shades of Gray is one of my most favorites :D but thanks for the suggestions and nope no sob-fest please; my exam is starting and that's enough sob-fest for me :P

I can totally think of something else a guy might be referring to when he says click-click-bang-bang.

I can, too. But not while staring at a doorway, waiting for the bad guys to come through!

BTW Jane, you can type in the same box as the stuff that comes up in on "reply" and that way you're not making two separate posts. Just FYI.

True, but you never know what does it for some people. Especially those guys. I gave up on them about the fifth book.

Thanks! I'm still trying to find my way around.

I love those kinds of stories too! Or older/younger gay couple with their own set of problems.

*skootches over to the ever-present wishlist-y goodness...*

Thank you very much, Becky.
Some of these books are on my wishlist, some I've read, but most of them I've never heard of. Not that I need new stuff to read...
BTW The Rifter, Book 6 is out today!

I'm seriously considering one of those prepaid Visa deals so I can only put on it every month as much as I'm budgeting myself for books/music/movies and once it's gone, maybe I'll be able to stop myself buying more till the next time...

I opened an entirely new bank account, LOL. Serious! A new bank opened a branch just a mile or two away so I plunked money into an account there, got a debit card for it & have used that for online purchases since. It's wholly independent of our other bank accounts so if something goes wrong, I'm not risking our mortgage payment (which came in handy about half a yr ago -- had to freeze the acct & get a new debit card issued after fraudulent charges started showing up). I have to keep $100 in the acct to avoid a mthly fee, but otherwise, no weird service charges like you see with the prepaid cc's. I deposit $ into the acct and that's that. I haven't used my real cc in about two years? Highly recommend.

Thank you very much, Becky..."
I also went to this list. I have read Ginn Hale's Wicked Gentlemen and it absolutly blew me away with the setting and the two main characters! I SO wanted more and now I see that FINALLY a sequel.I would give Wicked Gentlemen a 5*. It was a truly masterful story of gay love ..difficult..torturous and what I like!

Wow, that makes a lot of sense. Except than I would have to admit how much I spend on books, rather than burying the cost in with gas and food and pretending we're just eating really well these days. Seriously, though, that's a great idea.

I buy gift cards for various places, then when it's gone I know I've spent my limit.

That's a great idea (you have so many, Kari, where do you get them? I need to get me some)! And then my husband won't know what I spend money on.
But I can't open it at the bank around the corner, they've been robbed too many times.

Can't you do a pre-pay thing on Pay Pal? Deposit X $ in your Pay Pal account, then once you've spent it, your budget's used up. I think most (all?) publishers take Pay Pal.

Yes, we remember the robbery story. LMAO!
