It's sunny 3:03 PM here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. So reading on...need to get to Qhuay soon!

Time with Petit Morts is always time well spent :)...happy sleeps.

Cool...I was in Zimbabwe last year!...I am actually from the Dominican Republic but have been hanging my hat in this lovely chunk of the world for about six years.

If Qhuay get a book...that might renew my faith in mankind...too much??

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ (manutwo) | 1768 comments Ward said Qhuay will get a novella, I hope before I burn out. Lover Unleashed is very heavy on the slang indeed. But I can't stay away from that series :)

You are totally preaching to the choir Emanuela...I've been barely functional since I got the book on my kindle this morning...slang is a bit of a drag...but Manny is so far, so very good :) I heard through the grapevine that Layla is in the thick of things, hopefully not with Qhuay, because I will be PISSED...Why can't she just die? It doesn't have to be painful...like in her sleep...ANYTHING.

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ (manutwo) | 1768 comments Lay... choking I can't even say her name. I'm wondering if I'll get any sleep tonight, lol

It looks like Suzanne Brockmann has written a short story about Jules & Robin's ex, Adam. It's called "When Adam met Tony" and her website said it would be published as an ebook in June. It appears that Adam is going to get some redemption.

I hope you feel better soon! I've been a bit under the weather myself the past couple of days. No Neil Gaiman for me, but a bunch of different stories.

Becky (fibrobabe) | 1052 comments Oh, for the days when I was that excited about a new BDB book!

I'm experiencing a little bit of reading burn out. I have a ton of books I bought last year, and I'm feeling guilty because I haven't read them yet. But then there are all these new, shiny books I want to read instead.... I have pretty much unlimited reading time, and it's still not enough to get to all the books I want to read.

That's cool. Adam was selfish, immature, and clueless, but most people are all those things at some point in their lives. I'm glad he's going to get a chance to grow up a little bit.

No burn out here, but I still have a ton of books from last year (and even the year before) that I haven't read yet. In fact, I've created a second quarter of the year resolution - I'm limiting myself to 2 'new' purchases a pay period (4 a month). I probably won't stick to that, but, I'm going to try!

Eternal Rider is my next read... I loved the Demonica and ACRO series, but I have to admit, the excerpt she had at the end of Sin Undone...did not hook me at all...I'm banking on the fact that I've loved all her other stuff.

Happy Birthday :D
Enjoy the books :) I've read at least three of those: St Nacho's, Catch me if you can and No Souvenirs. The Assignment sounds familiar, but I can't remember whether I read it or not, that requires digging through my harddrive.
I thoroughly enjoyed them.

message 1733: by Heather C (new)

Heather C (heathercook) Happy b-Day! I've ready all of those except The Assignment and enjoyed them all! Catch Me If You Can was my favorite. Although, the Elle Parker books are very close in the running

Happy Birthday! All of those are fantastic...I agree with HC, Catch me if you Can, and Like Coffee and Doughnuts compete for #1 for me...Seth and Ce rocked my world! Although that cute Irish cop in The Assignment was pretty awesome too...have fun reading! Felicidades...

Ahhh not that much Qhuay time in pages,..but what was there certainly was interesting...Saxton turned a new page with me...that's saying a lot, for me, because I hated the guy...lots to look forward to...I hope, as long as somehow Layla dies :). I had a rant in my review, mostly because they need their own story.

Yep, I always need to lose a few pounds :)

I'm reading His Client (I love Ava March) and then I'll read Spice ‘n’ Solace, I haven't read anything by this author.

True dat ;P

I think she's worried about her very straight readers, those that wrote those horrible things in their comments on the Amazon boards, never read those boards again :(

I have the sinking feeling you're right Manuela...I'm willing to see what happens though. But if the words Layla, Mating, Qhuinn or Blay are used together in the next book...I'm gonna freak out.

JPerceval | 154 comments Thanks for all the birthday wishes, guys! All these books are going to keep me busy for a bit!

BTW, totally with you on the BDB remarks. One of the reasons I quit the brotherhood was I realized Ward was probably always going to pander to her homophobic straight readers, despite the screamingly m/m subtext in some of the plots.

The Qhuay moments in this book was really mild and almost non explicit. I think it's a just concern that she doesn't want to scare her straight readers away (and by straight readers I mean those who are uncomfortable with gay characters, I hope it was clear before), but she's doing a disservice to the great Qhuay storyline.

I wonder where she is going to go with this...I was actually surprised that she was so descriptive in this book with Blay and Sax...as mild as that was

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ (manutwo) | 1768 comments Why did she have to be descriptive with that!!?? She had all the opportunities to make Qhuinn's fantasy of Blay overly graphic, I mean, it's QHUINN!!!

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ (manutwo) | 1768 comments She has those shorts with Wrath and Rhage and kids to publish first. Not really looking forward to those.
