What else are you reading? (June 2010 - May 2013) *closed*

I just love it when books have this effect on me: so many feelings around, such an enrichment... Great!

Yep, Therapy needed after finishing. I found myself craving Mary Calme's books after. Which is really funny because I don't normally have an affinity for them. LOL Therapy of some kind needed to recover from the, intense roller coaster ride, reading adventure!

And Sarah I can totally relate. I cried myself into a miniature pond reading CUTYS the first time. ..."
Oh no! I was going to listen to more of CUTYS for half an hour before going to sleep but now I don't dare to!

Thanks for the reassurance! but I cry really easily too...

Read the blurb too and jumped at it. Thanks!

You are so welcome! For some reason, it makes me so happy when I rec a book to someone and they enjoy it something like I did.

Come Unto These Yellow Sands :)

Um, aren't Mary Calmes' books MORE of a roller coaster ride for you? LOL. Or maybe if it's one you've already read it's more of a comfort read. :)

lol ok maybe I was exaggerating just a little! And I cry easily (dependin..."
I don't think I cried reading CUTYS, but I'm going to listen to the audio soon so we'll see how that goes. I don't need to be crying during my commute. ;)

LOL. Sounds like a plan! :-)

It's nice notice that so many of us are currently reading/listening to Come Unto These Yellow Sands. :-)

I'm listening to Frost Burned, the latest in Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. It's good so far.

Both so good in very different ways :-)

I know!! Brownies are always a good strategy too. :)

Oh, Camp Hell was good. But I kinda like GhostTV the best, I think. Mostly for the out of body experiences Vic has.

What KC said. I've definitely reread DG #1 multiple times. I liked the other books in the series, but the first was/is my favorite.

Me too!

GhostTV sounds cool :) can't wait to read it, but then the series ends... I liked that Camp Hell was so much more detailed, that it took its time - in a very good way.

I think there's one more book coming after GhostTV. At least one more. I'll be sad when it's officially over.

I loved Camp Hell but I've been saving GhostTV...

That's good to hear. I hope there is at least one more.

Aw. Thanks, Jordan.

I'm so glad CUTYS is having a little flutter. :-)
The audio is neck and neck with All She Wrote. ASW is about 20 units ahead. That's really wonderful to see because the book was one of my slower selling titles.

Ha, yeah, coincidentally (I just noticed it, actually), it seems like CUTYS is next on my reading list. With everyone raving so much, I'm really looking forward to it!!
Right now, I'm reading Blacker than Black - I'm not that far in, but, bloody hell, that one's a trip! Very unique, that's for sure! Seems like Twilight hasn't turned me off vampire stories for good ;D

Thank you, Valerie. You're a peach.

Blacker than Black was a lot of fun, wasn't it? A real twist on vampires or aliens, or whatever. I really liked the world Rhi built there.
I finished
this evening. Lisa Henry really doesn't write easy books. I read them through, driven and staying up too late, kind of holding my breath. If I just read a synopsis or content list, not noting the author, I'd likely pass. An interesting collaboration with J.A. Rock.

So now I have these books lined up on my reader, ones I've been looking forward to for awhile and can't decide where to go next.
Plus I have the last two Cut & Runs,
and
.
I read the first books in the series as soon as I could get my hands on them, then kind of cooled. Maybe I need to be in a certain mood for extended relationship drama? Or maybe its symptomatic of my reading habits in the past couple of years. I'm a book or three behind in a number of formerly read-it-with-wet-ink series.
Sometimes the series seems to have reached stasis (George R.R. Martin's Song of Fire and Ice books). Or a writing style I always thought was charming or clever now just annoys me (Neal Stephenson, Seanan McQuire), or I catch myself hoping the author will kill off a main character (Wynn in the Hendee's Noble Dead). Curmudgeon-y mood much? ;-)

I think I'm going to save The Paris Affair until I have time to re-read all the earlier books in the series. I'd like to re-read Stars & Stripes before reading Touch & Go. So now it's a choice between Slam and Kestrel's Chance. Tricky!
Harper Fox has posted that her first historical novel, Brothers Of The Wild North Sea, will be out on 11th June!

As so many others I am fan of the Cut and Run series, without really understanding why I like them so much, it must be something with the dynamic beteeen Ty and Zane that appeals to me. Truth be told, I often find the plot ridiculous, the mystery is hardly a mystery at all and I often wonder if this is how the KGB really operates, then it is a miracle they are able to solve any crimes at all. And the writing is not without its flaws either, although it seems to me it gets better for each book. But, despite its flaws, I love that series! Go figure ;)

It sure ist!! I've read about at third now, and I (again) almost couldn't put the book aside to go to sleep. Although it was much too late anyways. Although they're called vampires in the book, it's so different that I wouldn't even classify it as a vampire story. Which is great, because the typical vampire thing - well, it'd have to be hella good for me to enjoy that ;D

For me it's just the dynamic between Ty and Zane, which sometimes gets to be a little too intense in a way that i don't enjoy, which is why i've kinda decided to wait until the series is done before i read Touch and Geaux.

Some cars actually do have faces ;)

:-)

Same here! :)

I haven't had a much time to read but I love Slam! so far. I'm learning lots of new vocabulary, too. I want to go home and put on my jim jams and have some hob-nobs (if I knew what they were ;)).

Heh heh. I *think* that they are biscuits... LOL. I'll have to read Slam! as soon as possible.

Read CUTYS a while back and loved it (and that one also made me cry!) but haven't managed to re-read it yet - I will do soon (preferably after fixing the icecream/whisky error!)
