Have a rec I'm excited about! BUT NOT FOR ME by JS COOK. She can make me crazy, but there's no denying her talent. When she's good, she's great. This one is a roaring twenties type story with the tough guy criminal w/a heart of gold. Falls in love with a brilliant but innocent accountant. (You know, I've imagined that a time or two, the mobster and the accountant because the latter is so often cast as a mousy little guy.) Anyway, I'm only about half-way through, but feel confident enough at this point to whole-heartedly recommend it. Don't miss this one!

Thank you! I'm always so pleased to see a new book from her.

Thank you so much! What a clever use of cables.

Thank you - not tried cables yet, but this looks interesting so I may have to give them a try soon :)

I'm a beginner and i found this pattern relatively easy as far as cables go, and they make it more interesting :-)

I started Screwing the System last night, and I'm really enjoying it. (Hot!!!) I love Josephine Myles.
Becky wrote: "I started Screwing the System last night, and I'm really enjoying it. (Hot!!!) I love Josephine Myles."I've been wanting to read that.

I don't want it all the time, but I enjoy a good BDSM story if it's not too crazy and if the emotional element is there.
I haven't read 50 Shades. But Cosmo isn't the limp, clueless character that the female lead in Shades is rumored to be. And Alasdair isn't the abusive asshole that everyone says the male lead in Shades is.
Just to comment for Becky... The essence of 50 shades is not about BDSM, and he is also not an abusive asshole at all. Before you make assumptions, you might want to read it. But that is actually not what I wanted to post. I have just finished Touch & Geaux. Book seven in the series. It is good... very good. The way she writes, brings a story to life. Sometimes it was so tense that I was holding my breath.
I just read Big Boy by Ruthie Knox. It's not m/m, and it's a novella. Ruthie Knox is my new favourite writer of het romance - I read Ride With Me after reading a rave review by someone who is notoriously hard to please, and immediately bought everything else she's published and pre-ordered the rest. Superb writing, great characters and stories. When I wasn't voting for Josh et al in DABWAHA I was voting for her!

Susinok wrote: "Hj wrote: " I have just finished Touch & Geaux. Book seven in the series. It is good... very good. The way she writes, brings a story to life. Sometimes it was so tense that I was holding my breath..."I'm wondering if read it or not, so I'm reading comments for now :)

''Wipe Out Homophobia'' just published this list of GLBT books and I've heard of only 3 of them: The Marrying Kind, the comic book and, obviously, Stephen Fry. Do you know more of them?http://www.wipeouthomophobia.com/lgbt...

Thank you for the link. Only read Stephen Fry's, but now i can check out the others :-)
21 Variations On A Theme - Copyright 1953 - selected by Donald Webster Cory. My gay-browsing favorite, with such authors: Sherwood Anderson, Henry James, D.H.Lawrence, Guy de Maupassant, Isherwood, Wm Carlos Williams and others not usually thought of in the gay genre. I picked up a signed (Cory) copy in an old NYC bookstore. Class writing of a class subject - some oldies are goodies.
I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing Touch & Geaux. It was a wild ride! I loved it. I wasn't a huge fan of the earlier books but I have really loved the last two. Team Zane! :)
Becky wrote: "I started Screwing the System last night, and I'm really enjoying it. (Hot!!!) I love Josephine Myles."I really liked Screwing the System and I'm not a big BDSM fan, either. There is a free short story, too, Screw the Fagsfor when you finish.
KC wrote: "I've been reading the comments so far and i get the impression that the big misunderstanding is taken to new hights, which kinda makes me want to wait for the next book before i attempt this one... "Not exactly. It's not a misunderstanding as much as the two characters refusal to speak to each other or explain things because of their own anger.
This is very much in keeping with their personalities developed throughout the series.
Even so, it did drive me nuts.

Yeah, commenting on a book I haven't read isn't intellectually honest. I'll cop to that.
Valerie wrote: "I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing Touch & Geaux. It was a wild ride! I loved it. I wasn't a huge fan of the earlier books but I have really loved the last two. Team Zane! :)"It was just amazing. I've finally recovered from it. I think it was the best in the series. But then when I first read Star & Stripes I thought it was the best. And when I read Armed & Dangerous I thought I thought it was the best. So I guess the books just keep getting better and better lol.
I've just finished our Travelling Book Every Time I Think of You - and it was really great!! Thanks, Johanna, I probably wouldn't have read it if not for the 'travelling' business, and I'd have definitely missed out! :-DIt's Calathea's turn now, I think!!
Charlinda wrote: "Valerie wrote: "I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing Touch & Geaux. It was a wild ride! I loved it. I want to go back and reread the others eventually, and I have The Gravedigger's Brawl by Abi on my TBR list as well.
I just started Lover At Last. I hope it does not disappoint. I was not crazy about Lover Reborn, so I hope it's worth reading just for Qhuay.

I've been reading this sweet comics today: http://bff.nematodeinspace.com/?id=1I found this little treasure on the Blind Eye Books fb page :-)

Things are under control then BAM. This get back under control (relatively) then BAM. It is like this the whole way through. Very well done. When you are in the mood for an angsty romantic thriller- Go For It!!
You may need therapy afterwards, but it's a great ride. ;-D

It also ties in with them getting to understand each other's core personality. So it is used very strategically and effectively. Now I have to go read the rest of the series again to see how this new info changes my read on things. Very sneaky that Abi!
Na wrote: "I can't read, I'm sick. Plus, my brain is definitely on vacation since yesterday. I want a hug. And a grog."Hope you feel better, Na. That does suck when you don't even feel well enough to read.
By the way, I had to look up what a grog was. :-D

She even noted to read with caution lol. I'm a wimp when it come to thing like that. But I do want to read it though. I'll get there some day. I know people that read it and nothing happened. But there were a few that said their Kindle's started to act up a little and another said her son would come to her in the middle of the night saying he saw something. Coincidence? Who knows? :)

Charlinda - maybe read it in a salt circle. :) But I had no experiences and I've read it twice. Maybe ghosts don't like me.
Aleksandr wrote: "Charlinda - maybe read it in a salt circle. :) But I had no experiences and I've read it twice. Maybe ghosts don't like me."Okay that made me giggle.
It *is* a pretty damn good story, to be honest. I enjoyed it. But the spooky incidents - now that was interesting. Never read a "haunted book" before.
