I read them recently. Very good stuff.

I read the first one this past week. Now the rest of them are on my to-buy-very-soon list. (It's getting to be a long list.)

But good for you ;)

Good to hear that you liked it, because I started reading it yesterday! :)

I don't know about you, but for me it takes some time to get used to the whole "movie script concept" in the writing. But mind you, I've only read 5% so far.

Okay, this is what I was trying to say in my post above. Now I see that Katharina had said it so well already. Thank you, Katharina! :)

Same for me! Josh's and Aleks' books are both basically auto-buys for me :)

LOL, you're welcome!! I'm glad I wasn't the only one having a bit of trouble at first - but I really REALLY enjoyed it later!! :)

I bought the entire series a few months back but have yet to read them. Can't wait though. They look sooo good!

Several authors in MM are autobuys for me too. Josh, Aleks, JCP, Neil Plakcy are the main ones. But right now, I'm not allowed to buy a book unless it's for the BOM. I swear to God. I've bought one book since Jaunary 1st. It kills me, but on the other hand I'm really enjoying getting to read all these books I've been hoarding. So, I'm not going to run out of reading material in MM any time soon.
The only exception to this rule is the book fair I'm going to next month. Especially if the books are free. Last year MLR was giving away all their books, and I ended up with so many books, it was pretty awesome. I'll buy some too, but that's it for most of the year, I'm thinking. Sad, I know. But it's gotta be done.
I tried to do this last year and failed. Miserably. This year I'm going to make it work!

Your list is about the same as mine for auto-buy. :) I would add L.A. Witt. But those are about it.

:-) Great minds think alike, as they say!

These are autobuys for me too...except Plakcy because I haven't read his stuff yet... But thanks to helpful suggestions by posters here I soon will.
Susinok, what's your favorite L.A. Witt?
Ijeoma, I would like to read that one. Nice to see a good review.

Also just read the free short from Less than Three, The Novelty Maker. A few editing issues, but overall, a nice and sweet fantasy short story. (LT3 has a nice little section of free stories if you're ever looking for something shorter to read.)

"
Thank you so much! I already had 4 of those free stories by two of my favorite authors: Megan Derr and Sasha L. Miller. Now I downloaded further 8, also by them.

That's a really difficult question. I loved her cops series, and the pool book and sequel, and the Hawaii series, and her Tucker Springs books. You get the idea.

This is much where I am.
I have so many purchased but unread books, that I am trying to get caught up.
I have been focusing more on adding books that sound interesting to my "want to read" list and working on reading the books I have purchased.

Shouldn't you be working, mister? :)

I really like Neil Plakcy's Mahu series which is a detective series. The mysteries are good but also the way the main character (Kimo) develops over the series is brilliant. The series starts with him being forced to come out and then it follows through all the ups and downs of his romantic life until he gets into an established relationship. So far there are 7 books in the series and also a book of short stories. I also love the way the stories are set in Hawaii *sigh*

Actually, I took a wee break, I have been working, editing something. Worked on documenting a medieval name for a client in the SCA and trying to calm the bf down who is getting angry with said client. I keep telling him, "honey, I don't want to be angry before work, that's why I'm writing porn."

Yes, I've heard many good things about his books. And people seem to love that his books are set in Hawaii.... sounds like he does a great job with setting.

I know. I'm trying to make a rule that I at least have to read a book before I can buy a new one!

Joe's already picking up all our bad writer habits! Or writer bad habits, I should say. ;-)

I KNOW!
I KNOW!

So much to read and ONLY 1 LIFETIME!

I'm going to have to be buried with my Kindle and charger, like an Ancient Egyptian, so that I have stuff to read in the afterlife. (We can skip the "scoop the brains out the nose" part, though.)

I honestly planned to. But after reading this review... I guess, I'll read it anyway just to have some kind of clo..."
I'm glad, I'm not alone. :) You take your reading seriously! Last time, I did "book coloring" was at the uni (job doesn't count).:)
I'd say "thanks" to Ward anyway. It was her interview, that led me to Suzanne Brockman and then to m/m-genre, and finally here. :)

I was reading it tonight before leaving work, laughing every few sentences. One of my co-workers asked what was so funny, I had to read to her about the scarlet silk jock strap.

I just listened to it on audio. Brilliantly done - I'd forgotten how funny it is. Kit is so tetchy and insecure, but his comments (spoken and unspoken) are also amusing.
Funny how we think of him at Kit when, as he says, the only person in the world who calls him that is JX. And I still stumble over that extra syllable in JX's surname; when I first read the book I didn't pick it up until Kit spells it out, and listening to it I kept thinking the narrator was getting it wrong. (I have a memory like a sieve.) It reminds me of that awful economic term "quantitative easing", where "quantitative" always seems to me to have an extra syllable in the middle.

Heh heh. Holmes & Moriarity books always put me in such a good mood. There is something about Kit's logic that is completely compelling to me. Enjoy, Joe!

I was thinking after I finished it that, like all good mysteries, the culprit is quite obvious after one thinks about it hard enough (essential physical characteristics of the murderer and opportunity, mainly) but because of all the interesting characters and their interaction one does not stop to think about it but gets too involved in the story. Sleight of hand! It takes a very good writer to do that, to distract you from the cold logic.

Hah! :-)
And yes, I agree 100%. The SKHE audio book is brilliantly done — such a joy to listen to!

Isn't it good? I felt much more affinity with Kit, listening to his thoughts read with that intonation which is just right. Josh scores again with the narrator!

I've been listening A Dangerous Thing audio book and I hadn't remember how funny the dialog between Adrien and Jake was at the point when Jake comes to the ranch and Adrien is quite skeptical about him. I also was laughing out loud yesterday when (view spoiler)

Yeah, you stay strong now, Hj. Don't read the spoiler. This particular spoiler moment happens in the beginning of chapter 5, so when you've listened to that, it's safe to read the spoiler... ;-)

I've been saving A Dangerous Thing audiobook, too. But the book I'm currently listening to is not holding my attention so maybe it's time to put an end to my Adrien withdrawal.
