I read the first one this past week. Now the rest of them are on my to-buy-very-soon list. (It's getting to be a long list.)

I don't know about you, but for me it takes some time to get used to the whole "movie script concept" in the writing. But mind you, I've only read 5% so far.

The only exception to this rule is the book fair I'm going to next month. Especially if the books are free. Last year MLR was giving away all their books, and I ended up with so many books, it was pretty awesome. I'll buy some too, but that's it for most of the year, I'm thinking. Sad, I know. But it's gotta be done.
I tried to do this last year and failed. Miserably. This year I'm going to make it work!

I've been holding back on buying books lately too. Unless they're on sale. I'm trying to read all the books I have "hoarded" in my Kindle too. It's helped my pockets a little these days.
I haven't commented for ages, but I am reading LA Witt"s "Covet thy Neighbour " which is part of the Tucker Springs series. It is interesting because one of the characters is a church minister who is gay and the author has done an excellent job portraying him as someone who is confident about his faith and his sexuality. It is great to see such a robust and positive portrayal of a faith leader who is gay because they do exist and they do have love lives and relationships. Also it is a really good series and I enjoy her writing.

Just finished the mm regency historical For Men Like Us. Overall I thought it was pretty good although slowed down too much for me in the second half. i did like that it went into some different directions though than other mm regencies that I've read, including how both MCs carried trauma from battle. If you like historicals, you may dig it.Also just read the free short from Less than Three, The Novelty Maker. A few editing issues, but overall, a nice and sweet fantasy short story. (LT3 has a nice little section of free stories if you're ever looking for something shorter to read.)

Thank you so much! I already had 4 of those free stories by two of my favorite authors: Megan Derr and Sasha L. Miller. Now I downloaded further 8, also by them.

I have so many purchased but unread books, that I am trying to get caught up.
I have been focusing more on adding books that sound interesting to my "want to read" list and working on reading the books I have purchased.
I have tons of sample chapters, and then I discover something else and buy it.

The mysteries are good but also the way the main character (Kimo) develops over the series is brilliant. The series starts with him being forced to come out and then it follows through all the ups and downs of his romantic life until he gets into an established relationship. So far there are 7 books in the series and also a book of short stories. I also love the way the stories are set in Hawaii *sigh*

Oh that Gutenberg library is diabolical. That and Manybooks.net where you can find so many of the old penny westerns and dime novels of the 18th and 19th Century, along with diaries and all sorts of goodies.So much to read and ONLY 1 LIFETIME!

I'm glad, I'm not alone. :) You take your reading seriously! Last time, I did "book coloring" was at the uni (job doesn't count).:)
I'd say "thanks" to Ward anyway. It was her interview, that led me to Suzanne Brockman and then to m/m-genre, and finally here. :)

I was reading it tonight before leaving work, laughing every few sentences. One of my co-workers asked what was so funny, I had to read to her about the scarlet silk jock strap.

Funny how we think of him at Kit when, as he says, the only person in the world who calls him that is JX. And I still stumble over that extra syllable in JX's surname; when I first read the book I didn't pick it up until Kit spells it out, and listening to it I kept thinking the narrator was getting it wrong. (I have a memory like a sieve.) It reminds me of that awful economic term "quantitative easing", where "quantitative" always seems to me to have an extra syllable in the middle.

Enjoy, Joe! ..."I was thinking after I finished it that, like all good mysteries, the culprit is quite obvious after one thinks about it hard enough (essential physical characteristics of the murderer and opportunity, mainly) but because of all the interesting characters and their interaction one does not stop to think about it but gets too involved in the story. Sleight of hand! It takes a very good writer to do that, to distract you from the cold logic.

I've been listening A Dangerous Thing audio book and I hadn't remember how funny the dialog between Adrien and Jake was at the point when Jake comes to the ranch and Adrien is quite skeptical about him. I also was laughing out loud yesterday when (view spoiler)
I can't read the spoiler because I've only just started listening to A Dangerous Thing. I was hoarding it but can't hold out any longer!

Yeah, you stay strong now, Hj. Don't read the spoiler. This particular spoiler moment happens in the beginning of chapter 5, so when you've listened to that, it's safe to read the spoiler... ;-)

But the book I'm currently listening to is not holding my attention so maybe it's time to put an end to my Adrien withdrawal.
I am almost done with A Dangerous Thing. Will be impatiently waiting for whatever comes out next from Josh's Audio projects.
