More time was spent with the best friend (who sometimes you want to smash) in the first half of the book. I still loved it though. I don't get all bent if the "romance" part of a book doesn't follow formula.
So I would say yes, depending on your preferences on "romance".

Just picked up my copy of
tonight. It's very pretty and I'm admiring how it looks on my desk table next to the iMac. I finished another e-read this evening, so the question is whether I need to start that other book I just downloaded, or one of the other dozen queued up, or...? — Confessions of a Delayed Onset #1 reader

Mitchell story I've read and I e..."I loved both the Ohio books, but especially the first one Regularly Scheduled Life is rather angsty and some of my GR fellows hated it, because there's one character you'd love to slap a few times. If you liked A.M. Riley's Bill Turner series, I think you'll like this one.
The Florida books, I only read #1. A lot of sex. A lot. It worked for me though, I liked the characters.
I have Bad Company, I'll read it sooner or later, because I am a Delayed Onset Reader #1.
My favorite KA Mitchells were the Bad in Baltimore books.
Read Muscling Through (lovely cover, btw!) and thoroughly enjoyed it, so thanks for the rec. I went on a girlie weekend to Cambridge a while back and we had a punt ride, so I could picture Al and Larry as they punted down the river.For the James Buchanan fans there's a free read here that's very short and very hot and very good. It's D/s and written in her usual no-nonsense style. NSFW if you have nosy buggers working with you ;)

For me too, but then I am that reader you describe so succinctly and presisely in very few words :)
That's what I love about Josh, personally: HE DOES PLOT (and does it well).

Aaah, okay. I'll approach those a bit carefully then (meaning I won't buy all of them at once... *grin*). Too much sex gets really boring awfully fast — I agree 100%. And yes, since Josh has indulged us with those wonderful, emotional sex scenes that are so vital to the plot, it's difficult to be satisfied with anything less... ;)
KA Mitchell is very hit or miss for me. If I love one of her books, I really love it. But if it's meh, it's really meh.Not one the series mentioned, although I think at one point it was intended to be a series, and maybe it still will be, is Life, Over Easy. Really interesting characters, a former Olympic athlete who was injured and lost his career and a guy who lost the love of his life in a car accident. (I think it was a car accident- it's been a while since I read it.) Plus there some paranormal/ghostie stuff going on, which is important to the story, but not overwhelmingly paranormal in a vampires and werewolves kind of way.

One is by Joyfully Jay, if you want to read it and form your own opinion, but beware: I think she gives away rather a lot of the plot.

Aaah, that's telepathy then. :) I'm at 45% and liking the book a lot. I think that Holden and Adam are probably two of the most interesting characters in this series.

Currently, I'm reading Anna Dressed in Blood. It's a YA novel about a ghost hunter. So far it's pretty good. Told in first person, which threw me for a loop because it seems like whenever a teenaged kid lives alone with a mother it's usually a daughter, and in this book she turned into a he.
I was literally picturing a kick ass girl, trying to kill a ghost while driving a vintage car she'd borrowed from the neighbor while it fishtailed all over the road. But hey, I'm still liking the book quite a bit.
Wish I was reading MM though. I'm dying to finish Special Forces and to get through some other works like The Irregulars. But I promised myself I'd read all these non MM books that I've been "currently reading" for too long by the end of the year. Guess it's time to get crackin'!

When reading her books, especially the Florida books which seem very sex scene heavy, I just start to skim them all.
If a sex scene doesn't advance the plot or enhance the relationship in some way, LEAVE IT OUT. I'm not reading a stroke book! I don't want to read a stroke book. I want a story.

I'm kinda bucking the trend on these. I don't like em at all. IMHO they are juvenile -- and not in a good way -- and insulting. I read all of the first, but I didn't get far into the second one before I (metaphorically) threw my computer across the room.
I don't enjoy reading about teens or even early 20s (that was sooo long ago for me) so I have avoided the Little Boy Lost series. Plus the angst factor looks like it would be high.

I think the angst level is strongest in the first one... after that it is sort of light to medium :)

Thank you, yes; I went to utube to have a peek and gathered as much. I think I'm too spoiled now to be drawn into exploring the series further. If I had seen it previous to the access I currently so enjoy to a lot of fun m/m reading, I would have been all over that--you know, like Starsky and Hutch. Then, it was wild to see any m/m relationship that allowed for depth and affection, on TV that is. Up until the last few years, I was sort of desparate. That's why I fell in love with the book and especially the faithful movie of Billy Budd. (Well, I still love that.) And with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, or other books, plays or movies that even leaned in that direction.

A very short and yummy BDSM online freebie.
A novel, highly recommended by a reviewer I who's guided me to gems, that just felt off in so many ways, but was also kind of entrancing (like a train wreck).
And I'm a quarter into Angels of the Deep, not exactly light reading.
Feeling a bit scattered and promiscuous, a little embarrassed by it all. ;-)
I haven't read anything worthy of mentioning here. ;-pExcept for re-reading Skybound, it's been a disappointing reading week. {shrugs}
I am going to be reading Sub Zero by Angel Martinez for Bingo. It's been rec'd by several of my friends. I'm looking forward to it! =D

I went from finishing up All She Wrote to reading Scorpion for a challenge.. my head is reeling a bit from the abrupt change in genres.
