What else are you reading? (June 2010 - May 2013) *closed*

You NEVER EVER throw books away. You move into a bigger apartement/house, make sure you have a storage room, but you don't throw them away..tsk tsk.
Ebooks are not necessarily better. I felt motivated to organize my books on my kindle and ended up with dozens of different collections. The result is I need even longer to find a book.

See ya guys later!"
I just finished Nicole's Cherries Worth Getting and now onto Josh' Green Glass Beads. What I want to know is how do we get the Fantastic Four to write in this universe again? And I want to read more Keith and Gunther. Talk about sizzling hot!
On the other note, there has been widespread news of babies and foetus being made into medicinal capsules (for sexual performance, obviously) in China. Ugh...

HEE.
Okay, I'll stop. I promise. :D"

... you can spend an hour in a bookstore/market in a foreign country with a language you don't understand one word of, and enjoy browsing

I don't think the flaw is in buying multiple copies. The flaw is in not getting RID of the multiple copies. That's how you know it's an illness. :-D

Uh...that was weird the way the cover changed from post to post.

But say you don't want to risk to forget to take your book with you when you go to the toilet or to bed or to a place where you have to queue. Multiple books help you never miss your reading, so they may be cause of sanity. Yes.

I got it as a recommendation here in Goodreads. I am not sure you'll like it, though. There is good writing (far above anything on the erotica market) but the subject matter is probably not something you are interested in.

One of my favorite series ever!!! :) Enjoy!

One of my favorite series ever!!! :) Enjoy!

I stuck to Anne Rice for most of my teens but as an adult I tried re-reading the books and it didn't go very well, I gave them all away. I recognize that anything after Interview with the Vampire wouldn't be something I'd read now.
She was a great writer for a young ESL reader, though. Her language was so descriptive and rich (and a bit purple).

The guy on the Hoarders show had them stacked 2 and 3 deep along every wall in the house, on every surface, and they were starting to topple over and endanger him.

I was an Anne Rice fan in college, but I haven't read her in years. I got a free copy of The Wolf Gift in a goodie bag at RT, but it was a big, heavy hardback. I gave it away because I wasn't interested enough to pay to ship it home. Plus, my wrists ache just thinking about trying to hold that thing long enough to read it.

One of the reasons I love my Nook. I have arthritis in my hands and big hardcovers are hard on wrists.

You will love this! JCP's imagination always leaves me stunned it's so original. And the pairing this time (Ricardo & John) is so out there at first I thought it couldn't possibly work, but she absolutely sold it to me. Amazing!

I love, love, love this story.

I loved Interview with a Vampire but the series lost me after that. Of course, I read it something like 30 years ago. Boy am I getting old.

I know exactly what you mean. I have Fibro and some inflammatory joint crap. I don't know what I'd do without my Kindle. I'd given up hardbacks already when I bought my first Kindle, and I didn't realize how much strain paperbacks were putting on my hands and wrists and elbows until I made the transition. Every once in a blue moon I still read a paperback, but it's rare.
I just finished
by A. M. Riley and I have to say I do like her books a lot. They are not perfect, in fact some of them have a kind of unfinished, unpolished feeling about them. And they don't make me feel high like Josh's books do, but I enjoy them nevertheless.
The next one to read is
from Jordan Castillo Price. I've been spoiling myself with her recently released work for last few weeks: The Starving Years, Magic Mansion and now Mnevermind 1: The Persistence of Memory!

The next one to read is

Mnevermind really caught my interest. I am currently reading Magic Mansion. Just started it yesterday evening so haven't come far yet, but it looks very promising. I just have to kill a few more hours at work and then I can go home and continue reading. She writes wonderful stories and characters. So, on to the buy next list with this one :)

It was a lot of fun. I hope they decide to write in that world again. I am a sucker for fantasy! :)
I also finished Among the Living and Criss Cross by Jordan Castillo Price. I must say, her books are very masculine -- is that even possible?
Not as masculine as Mr. Lanyon's books, obviously, but much more than the other writers in the m/m genre I've read so far.

I'm sure you'll enjoy Magic Mansion all the way through, Anne! To have (view spoiler) After all, everything about this book is magical - including the reading experience. LOL.
I'm 24% through Mnevermind 1: The Persistence of Memory and I can already recommend it. It's intriguing in Zero Hour and Mind Fuck kind of way. I love it how JCP creates such a strong atmosphere in her story right from the beginning. Just like Josh does. :)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I'm sure one can recommend it, in fact I would recommend it even before reading it, being by JCP ;-).
What stopped me it the ''1'': I wouldn't like to wait a long time for the sequel...

I have been checking out Mind Fuck, but it seems like it can only be had in paperback, not e-book. Is that correct?

Thanks Antonella. And now I must ask a stupid question. Can any of these be read on the Kindle? It seems like it is pdf format only and I haven't really tried that, I usually download e-pub format.
And if you want to read it as a free-read on the internet, I believe that this was the address that Antonella gave me a few weeks ago:

I'm reading Mnevermind right now too! It's really good.

I can't help there because I usually ask the opposite question (any PDF instead of Kindle?)...

Yes, you can read pdf documents on the Kindle.

Must be those Shrek 3-D goggles I am wearing. The picture was taken by my brother, I was trying the goggles on before going to watch Toy Story 3 with my brother and his two little boys. I find them very becoming, don't you? :)
Thanks for the mail.
Ha ha! They really are Shrek goggles, aren't they! I had to go and see the bigger picture in your profile. LOL. They are pretty cute. Too bad you can't use them as regular sunglasses... :)
Yeah, you can read PDFs on the Kindle, but you'll need a magnifying glass to be able to see the print if it's small.
I copied the stories into Word, made the font bigger, and then saved it as a PDF and transfered it to my Kindle.
As for what I'm reading now... The Rifter is it! And it kills me to have to go to work every day and not have the time to just sit and read this wonderful series! Just finished book 6 last night. Most amazing series I've read in awhile. LOVE it.

If there's no mobi or pcr, you should download the pdf and send it via e-mail to your Kindle and put the word 'convert' in the subject line.
You can read pdf as pdf on Kindle but it's no fun. Better to let them convert it.

You and me both. I'm in mourning.
Josh, I changed my mind -- you are MEAN, MEAN, MEAN.
