No, Kari, don't stop. Reading that stuff makes me feel all cozy and homelike. :)

You Might Be a Book Slut if...

... only seeing your books makes you all calm and happy. That's why they are EVERYWHERE in your home. And the dearest ones are always within arm's reach.

Nina (dancewithdemons) I was actually shocked to find out that people really throw away books!!
You NEVER EVER throw books away. You move into a bigger apartement/house, make sure you have a storage room, but you don't throw them away..tsk tsk.

Ebooks are not necessarily better. I felt motivated to organize my books on my kindle and ended up with dozens of different collections. The result is I need even longer to find a book.

I just finished Nicole's Cherries Worth Getting and now onto Josh' Green Glass Beads. What I want to know is how do we get the Fantastic Four to write in this universe again? And I want to read more Keith and Gunther. Talk about sizzling hot!

On the other note, there has been widespread news of babies and foetus being made into medicinal capsules (for sexual performance, obviously) in China. Ugh...

But say you don't want to risk to forget to take your book with you when you go to the toilet or to bed or to a place where you have to queue. Multiple books help you never miss your reading, so they may be cause of sanity. Yes.

I got it as a recommendation here in Goodreads. I am not sure you'll like it, though. There is good writing (far above anything on the erotica market) but the subject matter is probably not something you are interested in.

I stuck to Anne Rice for most of my teens but as an adult I tried re-reading the books and it didn't go very well, I gave them all away. I recognize that anything after Interview with the Vampire wouldn't be something I'd read now.

She was a great writer for a young ESL reader, though. Her language was so descriptive and rich (and a bit purple).

The guy on the Hoarders show had them stacked 2 and 3 deep along every wall in the house, on every surface, and they were starting to topple over and endanger him.

Becky (fibrobabe) | 1052 comments GR has been working on some updates lately, and it's led to some pretty oddball glitches. The cover thumbnails have been changing from the original book referenced to other books with the same title.

I was an Anne Rice fan in college, but I haven't read her in years. I got a free copy of The Wolf Gift in a goodie bag at RT, but it was a big, heavy hardback. I gave it away because I wasn't interested enough to pay to ship it home. Plus, my wrists ache just thinking about trying to hold that thing long enough to read it.

I know exactly what you mean. I have Fibro and some inflammatory joint crap. I don't know what I'd do without my Kindle. I'd given up hardbacks already when I bought my first Kindle, and I didn't realize how much strain paperbacks were putting on my hands and wrists and elbows until I made the transition. Every once in a blue moon I still read a paperback, but it's rare.

I just finished The Elegant Corpse by A.M. Riley by A. M. Riley and I have to say I do like her books a lot. They are not perfect, in fact some of them have a kind of unfinished, unpolished feeling about them. And they don't make me feel high like Josh's books do, but I enjoy them nevertheless.

The next one to read is Mnevermind 1 The Persistence of Memory by Jordan Castillo Price from Jordan Castillo Price. I've been spoiling myself with her recently released work for last few weeks: The Starving Years, Magic Mansion and now Mnevermind 1: The Persistence of Memory!

Mnevermind really caught my interest. I am currently reading Magic Mansion. Just started it yesterday evening so haven't come far yet, but it looks very promising. I just have to kill a few more hours at work and then I can go home and continue reading. She writes wonderful stories and characters. So, on to the buy next list with this one :)

It was a lot of fun. I hope they decide to write in that world again. I am a sucker for fantasy! :)

I also finished Among the Living and Criss Cross by Jordan Castillo Price. I must say, her books are very masculine -- is that even possible?

Not as masculine as Mr. Lanyon's books, obviously, but much more than the other writers in the m/m genre I've read so far.

I'm sure you'll enjoy Magic Mansion all the way through, Anne! To have (view spoiler) After all, everything about this book is magical - including the reading experience. LOL.

I'm 24% through Mnevermind 1: The Persistence of Memory and I can already recommend it. It's intriguing in Zero Hour and Mind Fuck kind of way. I love it how JCP creates such a strong atmosphere in her story right from the beginning. Just like Josh does. :)

Yeah, you can read PDFs on the Kindle, but you'll need a magnifying glass to be able to see the print if it's small.

I copied the stories into Word, made the font bigger, and then saved it as a PDF and transfered it to my Kindle.

As for what I'm reading now... The Rifter is it! And it kills me to have to go to work every day and not have the time to just sit and read this wonderful series! Just finished book 6 last night. Most amazing series I've read in awhile. LOVE it.

message 7891: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (prostock69) | 34 comments You can read .prc on Kindle too. If a publisher doesn't have mobi available, I always download the prc file. Mainly because I hate reading pdf files. You can't highlight the text of the story and the text is always small.

If there's no mobi or pcr, you should download the pdf and send it via e-mail to your Kindle and put the word 'convert' in the subject line.
You can read pdf as pdf on Kindle but it's no fun. Better to let them convert it.
