thae way it was described in Stephanies first post is like the exact way i thought they would and would have to show so if they do it that way i wont be dissappointed and it will just make it all the more easier to watch with, either my parent or a friends parent, without being uncomfortable the whole time and then my mom possably getting mad at me!! :o)

I mean therez no point!!
Nothing in the book appeals the R-rating..
I just want everything....
and Kayla dont forget the scene when Edwards suggests Jacob to have pupps with Bella .. =P
I'm sooo damn looking forward to Breaking Dawn movies..

GO PG-13!
I dont think it needs to be R rated at all! the book is writen PG-13! its just the fact of taken writen words have to put in to ACTAUL ACTIONS that turns it in to an R rating. OK so like sorry if that made NO scence! it did in my head but i couldnt find a way to say it. :o)

lol that made me laugh so bad
I think the book's most "controversial" scenes need to be in the movie. It wouldn't make sense without them. I agree with Melissa Rosenberg, there are definitely ways of making R-rated scenes PG-13. Some of the best love scenes I've ever seen have been PG-13.
The birthing scene has to be there. They can dial down the gore that's in the book, but the scene itself has to be on-screen. It might be very effective to focus on Bella's face and the faces of Edward, Jacob and Rosalie. We can know what they're doing without actually getting too graphic.
In any case, I think it would be a big mistake if these scenes were off-screen or only implied.

I agree..I can do with out the sex...Bc in the book she does not really go into anything..But the birth part I think that needs to stay how it is in the book. That is a HUGE part of breaking dawn.I am not sure they should keep this movie PG13..Sorry but everyone who has read the books already knows how it turns out.WHY cut things out an change them that much?I mean in eclipse they didn't REALLY show how victoria died..IT was cool but I wish I could have seen a little more blood..Like in the book the way it was written.I know that people may not agree with me but I think that Bella giving birth should be the way it is in the book from Jake's side...People want to see what they have read
Spoilers to follow … as if there are still fans out there who haven't read the book …
The scenes in question revolve around Bella losing her virginity and then giving birth in a very bloody (and not all too cinematic) way. When Rosenberg was asked about these scenes, she said, "On the fan site, on Facebook, all the comments are 'It has to be R rated! You have to show the childbirth! Gore and guts and sex!' For me it's actually more interesting to not see it. You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth ... it doesn't mean it's any less evocative of an experience."
I completely agree with her, too. Name a film where you, the viewer, actually see the whole childbirth thing go down from a right-between-her-legs camera angle. Why would you even want to see that? I'm sure you can evoke more emotion in a scene like that if the camera stayed on Kristen Stewart's face the whole time, allowing the audience to experience the emotional rollercoaster that is childbirth, instead of actually watching the gory mess unfold.
As far as the whole Bella losing her virginity scene … well, I'm sure you've seen enough sex scenes in your lifetime to figure out the ways in which they can shoot it and still maintain a PG-13 rating. While I'm not crazy about the clichéd shot of two people lying in bed under the covers with their shirts off, it is the one shot that best describes what just took place from a visual standpoint.
What do you Twi-hards think? Do we really need to see these scenes play out on screen like they do in the book, or do you agree that there are tamer ways to approach them?
