Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was a TV show where a guy and two robots trapped in space made fun of bad movies.

When you put it like that it hardly sounds brilliant at all! And yet it is. :-D

I know right? Strange premise that made for the funniest show ever.

I loved that show. And really, isn't that what we all do in the comfort of our own homes anyway? I hope it's not just my family.
BTW, because I'm a bit twisted, I checked and...there is fan fiction on the show. Hopefully none of it is m/m. :)

There is some! I wrote my own humorous spoof of Joel/Mike. (It's here if anyone wants to read it: http://fangirl1981.livejournal.com/45...)

Pretty much. MST3K just saved us the effort. Plus some of those movies were so bad it would take a professional!

I would actually postpone partying to watch this show when I was a young single, that's how much I loved it. My friend's band playing at 8pm? Sorry -- gotta watch Joel and the bots! lol
I recently introduced my 11-year-old daughter to it and I had to explain so many of the jokes because the references are so incredibly old. She still loved it because the movies were hilariously bad.

Is it smexy? :)

It's mocking the very idea of Joel/Mike slash so not even a little bit.

I don't know whether to be disappointed or not. :) I'll have to go read it.

Oh, I totally agree with, Tina!
And thank you for digging up this old topic!

Ha! That's a fun idea. I like that one. :-D

This would be stellar! Also on the "if only" wish list: a second volume of codas. I'm a squeaky wheel. Happy Thanksgiving.

The paranormal assassin quoted above by Sagajo wouldn't be bad either. Of course he would have redeeming qualities...
Both ideas are fantastic! And my question to myself is: where the heck was I four years ago, that I didn't even know this thread existed?! Lol. I'm loving it!

No need to be sorry, baby.
I can see that you believe you and I are probably very similar people. That we probably had very similar teenage experiences? That our families probably are EXACTLY the same? Like we might mix up my nieces and nephews for your sons and daughters? :-D
My youthful characters like Flynn and Jefferson are the younger version of my older characters, that's all. And I will be the first to admit you don't meet people like them every day.
But then, you don't meet characters like ME every day either. :-D

(Ok, I'm going to amend that. Not just Adrien and Jake. Tim and Luke from In a Dark Wood were pretty messed up too.*sigh*)

I was wondering this too, and discovered that if you look at the Polls section up above, you can see all the results. Cool, eh?
And blast, my choices lost, but I don't mind, because any sequel from Josh is a good sequel, after all. :)

That's what I thought as well. It will be a win for us whichever story is written. :)

Thanks Alison! So, Holmes & Moriarity, and The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks. Hurrah!
Edited: it's just occurred to me that the polls were on Facebook too (I think). Did they change these results?

Good point, Clary.

I think Parting Glass resolved a lot of the questions -- well, hopefully! -- for Tim and Luke. I mean, as far as such questions can be resolved. None of us can know what the future holds, but barring extreme and unforeseen circumstances (that I would have to make up coz...these are characters in a book, after all :-P ) we can trust that the optimistic note upon which we left these characters holds true.
DO NOT BE INIVITING DARK THINGS INTO THE LIVES OF MY CHARACTERS. :-D
Flynn and Kirk will definitely get their sequels. I have a whole arc planned out for them. The hold-up there is there are some very tricky plot bits that I haven't yet worked out as far as Flynn's antecedents. Not sure how spec fiction I want to go.
But yes, that quartet of stories will be completed.

I believe it's still going. I was trying to give enough time so that a lot of people could kick in. But truthfully, I know from sales what should come next.

I think for Lisa it's a combination of things. It's what would make Adrien happy in the immediate future -- which having nearly lost him would be paramount in her mind -- and the realization that Jake, however screwed up his past choices, does truly love Adrien. Will do his best for him. And what more can you ask than that?

Exactly. That's why I can't understand parents cutting ties with children because of their chosen partners (unless they are abusive, but even in that case the children would need help).

Yes! Right?
It's so strange how many parents make the mistake of thinking cutting your child off is the best way to bring them to their senses. If anything, it almost always ends in sending the child in exactly the opposite direction. :-/

I truly have complete faith in you. :)
And I realized that Tim and Luke's issued had been resolved, I just hadn't remembered how much in pain those two were until I reread The Parting Glass while hunting for a quote last weekend. In fact, that quote hunt had me revisit four different couples. :)
As a reader, you can't help it. Or, at least, I can't. lol. If I connect to the characters, I always want to know more. It must be the good news/bad news of being a writer. Do you get to write the next new story that's in your head clawing to get out, or do you revisit some well loved friends that your readers are wondering about?
Either way, it really is a win/win for us, and I will happily read whatever comes next. :)
"DO NOT BE INIVITING DARK THINGS INTO THE LIVES OF MY CHARACTERS. :-D "
lol. What, me?!? :D Meant to say also, thank you for holiday codas. They go a long way in putting to rest any niggling doubts one might have about current relationships.

At one point I did have the idea for at least one more story, so it's hard to say. It could happen though there are no immediate plans.

Duly noted. I do now have a better plot for HH2, so that's promising.
