Sicilian Pistachio is my nemesis!

I was just thinking of the plight of someone new to Q&A who clicks on Writing Questions for Josh and finds pages of a discussion about gelato. Well, come to think of it that's probably an honest intro to this group.

Oh, did your virtual gelato arrive too frozen? Can't really depend on the virtual food delivery these days... But you did get the Mediterranean Mint, didn't you? I knew it!

You've got a point there... and I know I should be sorry for carrying on this virtual gelato discussion in a wrong thread — but I'm not. ;-)

Hey! Maybe this means that we need a new Virtual gelato and ponies topic!!! I'm on it...

(view spoiler)

Well, I actually don't have any writing questions for Josh right now... but let's see...

Oh, wait... hmm... how about... yes, indeed...

... Did you ever read Enid Blyton's The Famous Five, Josh? Just wondering, because there is sooooo delicious food to be found in your stories! Any chance that we'd be able to read about gelato loving characters in the near future?

ETA: Wait a minute... this wasn't a writing question at all, was it? God, I'm bad at this...

Thihihii... I think I have sugar high. I had to eat some (a lot) overly sweet Ben & Jerry's since I didn't have that real stuff... and it went straight into my head... (That's my sorry excuse for the diabolical laughter you heard!)

I didn't read the book, but I'm going to see the movie because my neighbour's children like it a lot.

And to stay resolutely OT ;-): can someone explain how can this gelato be more creamy than ice-cream and at the same time have less calories?

Enid Blyton's Famous Five series are the reason I enjoy reading! Read it when I was a kid and still love them now.

And I also dig gelato. Must have some soon!

I'd have to agree!

But we're fast on our feet. If someone were to throw out a book or writing related question, we'd pivot on a dime! :-D

I have my ups and downs with it. Some people post everything there, not everyone is good at curating. Organizing stuff into neat boxes isn't for everyone. So, finding exactly what you want is hard, but I do have fun with it.

I go through periods where I spend a lot of time there having fun with it. But it's pretty low on my social media Must Do list. I mostly just find it entertaining.

lol ...I love your honesty. :-)

I'm pretty lazy when it comes to social media. I don't even have facebook. The fact that I post on here is a big deal for me.

Whenever I find myself on Pinterest, it's usually because I've followed a recipe trail that's led me there. I have to admit, though, that I'm wondering about Lou's hairy men. :-D

Calathea | 6034 comments Antonella wrote: "And to stay resolutely OT ;-): can someone explain how can this gelato be more creamy than ice-cream and at the same time have less calories? "

I don't know how they do it but one way to achieve creaminess in ice is whipping it with powdered suger (quite a lot of it). And seeing that sugar has less calories than fat that might be where the difference is.
Or, other possibility, making ice with whipped egg white. This ice cream will have a really smooth texture. And again, egg white has less calories than fat.

Now I want ice cream, gelato, anything...

Matthias Williamson (matthiasw) | 340 comments I've got a little collection of a site, it's definitely NSFW. I could send you the link in private, I'd hate to just blatantly make everyone see something they don't wish to see. If you want the link, send me a message and I'll send it to you.

Hope the procedure goes well, and that looking at cats and cute boys aids your recovery! While you're feeling feeble, I suggest listening to an audiobook (one of Josh's, for preference). You can lie with your eyes closed but still have your mind absorbed by the story, helping you forget any discomfort.

Take care!

I'm having a medical procedure done tomorrow. It's called TAXES and I think this year my accountant is planning to suck them out through my nostrils like the ancient Egyptian priests preparing a mummy. :-D
