You would hope so. But I am sorry to report that I don't think I'm a whole heck of a lot wiser about my eating -- luckily for me, I just stopped loving sweets quite so much.

I chuckled at this -- until I realized you'd just destroyed all my Disney illusions. ;-)

Faaaar from it!

Yah, sorry about that. I tend to ruin the magic all the time. I'm terrible at it.

God, yes, I had hoped that too... but somehow it never stopped. ;)

My mind went to some very wrong places involving Disney characters...

Oooh, the stories I could tell.

Sure we do, although if we listen to our new-found knowledge is something else entirely ;) There are a few things that do have a profound effect on the mind (coffeine, alcohol, e.g.), I'd think others are just metabolized and you find them then in the fat cells on your body (man do I hate if that happens) - or not ;)

Don't be shy. Disneyland gossip would be such a refreshing change from Romanceland gossip. :)

This is such a brilliant article, thanks Antonella!! You always find the most interesting news stories.
...and I absolutely agree. Football does look much more interesting to me now. (At least if somebody can explain it to me. What the hell are all these people doing building man piles on the field? When I was living in Boston for a few months, I had a hard enough time understanding what all the fuss with the Sox was about, but football - huge mystery to me so far.)

Yes, that seems to always happen when I have similar plans. I now forbid myself from buying anything to that regard. I've never had weight problems, but it seems that every year it gets harder to lose the extra winter insulation.

Hey, can you believe I've never seen Finding Nemo? How sad is that? I was just talking to a friend on FB, and I put it in my Netflix Queue.

Absolutely! This is particularly important when dealing with children and YA. Or even NA or OA for that matter.

NO! That HAS to be remedied and soon.
... well, I shouldn't say anything. I've never seen Casablanca. Something I want to change for years, but nobody wants to watch it with me and I don't care for seeing it alone *sigh*

Oh! You HAVE to see Casablanca!
Oh! You HAVE to see Casablanca!

I know, right? But what fun is it to watch all alone. ... I have the wrong friends, it seems ;) Or the right ones but not in the right geographical places...

I've never seen it either. I always wondered if it was one of those movies that really was as good as its reputation or if it had just been romanticized over the years.

Whaaaaaaat?! Noooo! Thank God I'm not having sushi tonight.
:-D"
Haha, the first time I've eaten sushi after seeing that picture I imagined Nemo in every roll :D

Nope, it really IS that good. Honest.

No, it really is that good.
But I mean you have to be open to old movies. If you hate black and white films -- as a surprising number of people do -- then I don't think it will work for you. But it's such a classic! Everyone should at least see it just for cultural reference if nothing else.
Kinda like me and Nemo. :-D

I don't think I've ever seen such a pristine version.
It's so beautifully shot, so beautifully written, such great acting...there's a reason it's universally regarded as a classic.

Alright, alright, I think I really HAVE to watch it now, alone or not. ;D
I have to see how I can get this digitally remastered version, it sounds brilliant!

I actually love black and white movies. There was an old refurbished theater in the town where I grew up that showed black and white films, and I loved going. They even showed silent films and had someone performing on a pipe organ while it played... It was great. So, yes, I am Casablanca audience material. :-)

I love old movies. Touch of Evil, Casablanca, Rear Window, War of the Worlds, Day of the Triffids… (Though the last three aren't black and white.)

I saw it only because the children of a friend wanted to see it. I thought adults can get much more from the movies (all the hidden references...).
Katharina: ''Casablanca'' is a pillar of Western civilization!

Luckily I duly quoted my font, if not I'd blush with all these praises...

... alright, I'll go buy it right now. So that is what peer pressure feels like ;P

In fact I just thought I'm going to buy it as well, because I haven't seen for a long time now. Maybe I was pressuring myself ;-))

If you ever come to Hamburg, we can watch it together! I'm still in need of a Casablanca buddy... :D

Was there ever a truer statement!

But there is a certain segment of the population that insists on color and will not watch a black & white.

And most of those are free to stream on Netflix. I know because they keep coming up as Recommended for You although I've seen all of them dozens of times by now.

Ha. The thing is, 20-somethings don't grow out of YA. They're flocking to it! We always have adults looking for books in the teen room at the library, and it's not for their own kids either.
Also, at least here at this library, we're trying to make a distinction by calling the books "teen" and not "YA", because technically, YA is the 20-something crowd! At least by psychology standards I think. We are the Teen Room now, where we used to be the YA Room, and all of our new books are getting labeled "Teen" rather than "YA".
