"heh" he mummbled something and looked up at the sky with a sigh.

"Beautiful..." Mia sighed following his gaze. "Sometimes i come out here at night, it....i don't know, comforts me like maybe I'm not the alone that somewhere someone else is looking up at the same sky."

"i did that all the time, i still do on occasion, i never sleep, i only worry"

"Really! So i was right I wasn't alone..." Mia smiled " What has you worrying so much? if...if you don't mind me asking..."

"Hey you don't have tell me if you don't want." Mia said giving Ivan a warm smile "Mine are Relaters, but i don't talk to them much." Mia wanted to know what Ivan was hiding but even more so Mia wanted a friend she hoped she hadn't pushed him to far

"well, its just, their followers of Voldermont" he waited for her reaction, waited to hear her gasp becuse he had said his name and waited for her to run off in fright.

"Woah! Your parents are..." Mia looked around making sure no one was around "deatheaters?" she whispered her heart sinking Ivan couldn't be her friend hot with his parents hating the very thing that she was a muggle born. she frowned "so I guess that means...well i guess we can't really...I mean my parents are...well are you...?"

"thats what i feared, but i really need a freind, i-i never intend to hurt anyone, but my parents are trying to make me" His child like side came back again. "I mean, i-i.." he lookeddown. "I can understand if you dunt want to be my friend"

"I'm alone too." Mia whispered taking his hand in hers she knew what it was to be alone to not fit in. She needed a friend "but i have to ask don't well i don't know hate people like me muggle borns?"

"nah nah, i know, its just, i have this thing, i was...always abused when i was younger, and i kind of...have two sides to me....i-its hard to explain"

"Oh wow I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Mia asked her face full of concern, she wanted to hug him but was unsure what his reaction would be so she just squeezed his hand and pulled him over to an oak that sat on the beach of the lake "do you want to talk about it?" Mia asked sitting down her back resting on the trunk of the tree.

"i-i suppose" he sat beside her, hugging his knees.

Mia studied him:he was beautiful his blond hair was almost as light as hers it lifted in the wind, the most stunning thing about him were his violet eyes. Mia had never seen anyone with eyes that color before they were mesmerizing. leaning toward him Mia bumped her shoulder against his, while giving him a warm smile

He looked at her and smiled. finally, someone who didn't run when he told her about himself and his family, someone who cared, it was finally coming true, he had a friend. "So what do you want to know?"

"Hmmmm well lets start with your blood type are you A+ B-?? just kidding! Ummm What do you like most about Hogwarts?"

HE smiled and looked at the lake. "the fact that i can get away from my family, hogwarts has been more of a home then my home has ever been"

"Your lucky that way. I don't fit in here and my parents well they aren't quite sure what to do with me now that i'm a witch"

"do they have a problem with you being a witch?!" he looked over at her with slight suprise.

"Well no they just don't know what to do it's like they're scared im going to turn them into a pig or a pot of tea if they say the wrong thing so most days they just ignore me. Like if they pretend im not there then maybe i will just go way, and they can go back to being normal parents to my normal brother and sister."

"hmmm, i wish i could say the same, i was always frightend my parents would turn me into something, or worse"

Mia "Well maybe one day we can turn both our parents into tea cozies! that way we can make them be nice!" Mia laughed "Okay so what about classes do you have a favorite?"

"er, defence aginst the dark arts is always interesting and, herbology is kind of cool"

"Yea those are cool i like charms and transfiguration and divination is kind of fun only because Trelawney is a crack up "You are in grave danger!!" Ooooooooo" Mia said wiggling her fingers at Ivan before she burst in to a fit of giggles.

He laughed softly. "i kind of take her as a joke, though sometimes i wonder"

"Yea sometimes you feel like maybe she is on to something and then she says something weird and you're back to thinking she is just plain nuts!"

"ha, well im not dening she isn't nuts but you know..." he shrugged.

"Yea. So what kind of things do you do for fun?"

"fun?" he looked at her as though the word was forgien.

"Yea you know like reading, Quidditch, that sort of thing?" she gave him a quizzical look "You do have fun don't you?"

"well, most of the time i keep to myself, im on the Quidditch team and i go out sometimes, but most of the time i draw and read, staying away from everyone.

"Ooo Quidditch! what position do you play? You draw!? Thats awesome I'd love to see them some time....well if you want to show them to me that is." Mia chewed her lip "Why do keep to yourself you seem like a nice enough guy?"

"I catch the snitch, i draw yes and i would like to show you if you'd like and i keep to myself because....no one likes me"

"Why don't people like you? I mean I like you..." Mia clapped her hand over her mouth, her face red " What i mean is you seem nice..."

he blushed ever slightly and looked at her with a sunny yet cold smile. "I like you too, but...." he looked back at the lake. "People dunt like me because everyone in slytherin has a connection with voldermont, weather it be a family member or themselves, but my parents have the strongest connection and people fear that i can sick the deatheaters on people when i get mad or wahtever"

"Esshh that can't help with making friends." Mia shook her head sympathetically and looked out at the lake just in time to see one of the giants squids tentacles break the calm surface of the water. As Mia watched the squid she couldn't help but be happy she had made a friend, a cute one at that! Mia's mind wondered, into fantasies of the new school year...

"no, not really" he Laughed at the giant squid. he sighed and smiled, it was nice to have at least someone to talk to, someone who would listen. "i continue to go home though, because i love Russia so much"

"You live in Russia? Wow your a long way from home. Do you miss it?"

"sometimes, but, if i get the chance to go back, it makes the pain a lot easier to deal with"

"I've never been there, i heard it's beautiful. My folks live in Liverpool... but i try not to go home its just to awkward." Mia looked out at the lake and shivered, she was getting cold and a little hungry

"heh" he looked over at her and noticed the shiver. "lets go back and try to get something from the great hall, i haven't eaten all day" He stood and offerd her his hand.

Looking up at him Mia took his hand she looked out at the lake one more time "Things are going to be different this year. Can you feel it?"
