Jonathan The first book was solid, but it was the second and third that really made me a super-fan. Re-reading the first book after you've read the following chapters, you appreciate how rich the world of Westeros is.

I'm sure it's not for everyone, but sometimes I'd like stories where someone you like dies and someone you hate wins, because that's how life is sometimes. I want a palpable sense of danger, nut a Saturday morning cartoon sense of danger.

One thing that surprises me is when people say there are too many characters. There are many, it's true, but most are just there to color the world in a bit. You don't need to remember who Young Grif is (probably). If you need to know who someone is, they're in enouhg of the book to know.

I think it's easily the best fantasy saga I've ever read. And after five long years I cannot wait to dance with some dragons.
