G'day Rick & everyone, with the drama's in the later part of the year now over, it now looks like an 'official' release in early January, including the online shops, Amazon, Barnes Noble, Borders, Books are us, etc.etc.
I have received so, so many inquiries about this book & I hope no one has lost interest while waiting, I for one, am soooooo! looking forward to holding one in my hands.
My book is a journey for the reader, showcasing my humble beginings in writing, almost 4 years ago, to the way I have improved to what I am writing today. Some of my early works include mistakes, erratic metre, & same sounding, but, non- rhyming words, even though this did not detract from my 1st book being quite a big seller, in Australia & worldwide. I'm not afraid to show my mistakes as I hope the 'closet' writers out there can see that anyone (even an uneducated person like me) can be successful in the literary world.

I've just made three of my ebooks available for free on Smashwords and other retailers (although it may take a few weeks for the other retailers to realize that I've changed the price.The first ebook is The Djinn Garden. This novelette is a self-contained excerpt from my 4-volume Arabian Nights-style Parsina Saga, an epic fantasy. It should give you an entertaining introduction to what the series is like before you invest your time in it.

If my better half was a Steve (which would actually be something of a problem), then she wouldn't have rolled her eyes at me as I continue this Steve conversation! As a non-Steve, she's just jealous!We can allow all men to be Steves like how Australians call all women Sheilas. We can give Honorary Steve Certification, like how universities give celebrities honorary doctorates! REVOLUTION!!!
Hey, let's not be sexists. (I love women too much!) There are "Stephanies," after all. I would never kick Stephanie Zimbalist out of my club. And, if you're old enough, you might remember the character of "Sister Steve" from the Father Dowling Mysteries show that starred Tom Bosley. She can join my club any time!
Wasn't there a Stefanie Powers in the 6 Million Dollar Man, or something in that era? She can be an honorary member. And Stephanie Seymour can knock on my door anytime.Sorry, Stephen, any Tom Bosley reference would have to stick to Happy Days. He was the dad, right? And that was way before my time, as well.
And before Happy Days, he won a Tony Award for playing New York's Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia in the Broadway musical Fiorello!. And most recently, possibly even within your lifetime, he was the sheriff who presided over the bloodbath that was Cabot Cove in Murder, She Wrote. He was a wonderful actor who passed on just recently. I always enjoyed his work, even if he wasn't named Steve.
I didn't know any of that. I hear the name Bosley, I think of the dad from Happy Days, and the lucky guy who got to hang around all of Charlie's Angels!

Tom Bosley was a very wonderful actor- He was a Tony and Emmy winner I believe
David Doyle was so engaging as Bosley on Charlie's Angels- I really found him a terrific actor

In honor of all Australians everywhere, I will now call all women "Stephanie" and all men "Steven." This will somehow not make me feel so old when I see that more and more actors from my tv and movie-going youth are dropping like flies.
Well, I spell my name the right way--with a "ph".
As Stephen shows, in Message 262 above, it ain't "Stephs" or "Stephes," it's "Steves." Stephen King is called "Steve." When I'm called "Steve," nothing changes, cuz I'm a Steven. And I'm already a Steve.So therefore I am the rightful heir.
(Plus, if you scroll back enough, you'll see that this was all my idea!)

Nonsense. If Mike/Michael was that awesome, you wouldn't have just used your initials to begin with. You are now a Steve. If you persevere, I will make you a Stepford Steve. Or a Seven-of-Steve.
To Steven--I respectfully disagree with your logic. Just because the shortened form of Stephen is Steve doesn't make Steven correct. After all, the shortened form of Michael is Mike, not Miche. And while I have seen some people who spell their name Mikal (and they're certainly entitled), that still doesn't change the fact that the universally accepted spelling is Michael.(And let's not even think of the perverts who go by Stephan!)
Hmmm...Well, how can I disagree with another Steve? And I suppose we'd have to let in a Stefan, too. Maybe Edberg? That's the beauty of a Steve's Club (because there's a Sam's Club, right?)--and that should be Charter Rule #1: All spellings of "Steven" are all universally accepted!

Well, if you can do that, I'm gonna change mine to Stephen King.Separate thought, since this stream was originally about members and their works (and since I sabotaged it with the help of the other Steves):
How about a separate thread of writings/novels/short stories, etc. that members are working on, but are not finished or published, and any research-like questions that may have come up? Like, I had some chorus questions re: a new novel I'm working on (see yesterday's entry on my blog if you're interested), and I interviewed a chorus teacher to get the answers. Anyway, writers could generate interest on their writings this way, and get valuable (quick) info. or cheerleading, and gauge their word progress at the same time. The only caveat, maybe, is that we don't inundate the other members with, "Read this, read this!" until it's all done. Maybe just a quick summary and a quick question, like, "Can a chorus teacher save a kid's life by telling a guard that the kid's deep voice is useful to balance off the chorus as a whole, even though the kid himself can't hold a note?" The answer, by the way, was "No," and for many good reasons.
I ask all this to Rick--and to you all--because I don't know how to start new threads, nor do I know if this is even a good idea.
and wow, does this thread make me happy, as an author, that my name is Liam (or should it by Lyam?)... and it was rewarding to see last night when we stopped in to Duffy's Tavern in Monterey, owned by Rick Persons, that he has installed a neon sign with shamrock's at each end, saying "Rick's Place"... a fine drinking establishment in my thriller novel TERMINAL POLICY. Way to go, Rick!!! and also a tribute to our fine ringmaster of the James Mason Community!
