haha. i knoe. chapter 8...i seriously skipped rite to it when i got the book. couldnt resist..haha but wht can i say i dont care i love spoilers.

I absolutely went crazy with this book. It's been three days and I can't stop talking or thinking about it!
Loved the opening chapter with the whole Red Guard story. I really, really prayed that Ethan wouldn't piss her off too much so that she decides to join it. I was biting my nails 'till the end on that one. Thank Lord, she didn't.
I was pretty inpressed with the shifters in this book. Really loved the transformations. It figured that the Alfas would be wolves, though lions would've been cool, too. Loved Nick's form also. I imagined him as a black sleek panther in that moment - it was a pretty picture. I liked the fact that Nick finally stopped being a jerk and tried to protect Merit. Hope we get to see him more next time.
And Merit and Ethan....I'll probably have naughty dreams for a year after this book, lol. That scene, as I comented when I read it, was one of the most intense ones I ever read. And I've read a lot of those. Of course, right after he turned on the other side and my heart broke to a million pieces. But I still couldn't hate him really. Of course, him bringing Lacey only worcened things and I really hate her, I should point that out. But the way he acted toward Merit afterwards...of my, someone called him the vampire Mr. Darcy and I think he's just than. I'm totally in love with him and that final gesture was amazing. Loved their fighting scenes, both when she kicked his ass and when they fought together. At his last words, when he said that he realized in the fight they belonged (paraphrasing) together, I was like "Finally, took you some time!" But the most intense moment was when he called her name. I never thought she was a Caroline. It's weird to me bur maybe it suits her. Anyway, I'll stick to Merit. :D
I loved Mallory and Catcher in this book and wished they had more book time. I'm glad Merit and her patched things up.
I too think the eyes belonged to Ethan's child and since Gab said vampires would take care of his son, I presume it's Merit and Ethan's son. I really hope she doesn't keep us waiting like the Georgina Kincaid case of the child, but I really hope something happens and they're able to have a kid. It would be adorable - with its mother's stubborness and its father's bossiness, lol. Maybe it'll be a girl and it would pair up with Gabriel's son and create an entire spin-off series! lol
Can't wait already. Hard Bitten can't come a day sooner. Sorry about the ridiculously long comment, XD

I am *still* mad at Ethan and I read the book over a week ago.
It shows how good the book is though, since it's still on my mind!

IKR? Loved it.
haha. i dont like that he broke it off wit her b/c of the good of cadogen house. i mean couldnt u have thought of that in the first place before getting wit her. but i understand why but i dont like they way even after he said no he still like are you okay, i can tell something's bothering you...well, duh.
i wonder wht he will do for meri to forgive him in the next book. and how everything will develop.

Sometimes forgiveness is overrated. :D

I can't wait for the next one. I was upset when Ethan broke it off with Merit, I was afraid she'd join the RG. I thought she handled it really well. I also want to know more about what Gab's vision means.
i think it proves what a stronger person she is becomming wit everything she had to deal wit in twice bitten.
Okay, so someone needs to look up in the yahoo group and see if Chloe ever mentioned anything about Merit and shifter blood. It is really driving me crazy! I keep wondering about Gabriel's vision and what it means. Also, what does everyone think of the Jonah thing? A few people mentioned that they think a love triange might happen but I didn't sense any kind of chemistry between him and Merit in the book.....

LE: In Twice Bitten, you introduced a new group of vampires that could have a potentially huge impact on Merit. They definitely underestimated Merit, but it has me wondering if we’ve really seen the last of them or if they will try a little harder next time. Is there anything you can tell us about them without giving anything away?
CN: We have definitely not seen the end of that “new group,” and I think Merit will continue to feel the tug of that particular organization, and her would-be “partner.”
Very interesting! I was kind of hoping that when Jonah showed up outside of the bar to talk to Merit after Ethan "dumped" her that something would happen or we would see some chemistry but nothing did! I wonder if more will develop in the next book? I love Merit and Ethan together but I hope that she makes him grovel a lot after what he did!

i always though b/c of the family comment and he calling her kitten that maybe she has shifter blood. i really hope that's it though.

Chloe answered some questions on her board last year and she said that Merit started off as 100% human.
RE: Gabe calling Merit kitten.
Chloe replied a couple of d..."
wow - all good to know! thanks, Layla!

I'm unsure how I feel about Ethan and Merits relationship now. I understand Ethans decision-painful though it was to read- but I'm also on board with Merit not quite willing to believe in him.....I think the 4th book will be a fantastic time though--I'm hoping it will be chock full of Ethan trying to woo Merit, she deserves it!

He woke her up at 2pm to get some more lovin' Ethan you sexy man.

And Heather, he woke her up a few times! Insatiable is our Liege and Master...INSATIABLE!!! lol

I LOVED IT!! Chloe did such an amazing job. it was
definitely an emotional rollercoaster, but still so, so good!
first and foremost...i just loved the Merit/Ethan story line. love, love, LOVED chapters 7 and 8. they finally got together - YAY!!! and i loved all the beautiful words that Ethan said to Merit. seriously,
absolutely heartmelting. telling her that she was more than anything he's ever wanted, that he became undone around her. they were just beautiful. then, of course, he broke Merit's (and my) heart. it killed
me that it happened less than 24 hours after the fact, but it think that it was set up perfectly so that they more time to deal with that struggle, more time to let Ethan think about it all. further, i think
that Merit dealt with all of it brilliantly. her strong, smart character shone through, and i think she handled everything so very well (much better than i would have!). and then, i was very happy with how
their arc wrapped up in this book. i was practically doing flips when he kissed her at the end (and twice no less). do i think that it sucked that it took a major crisis for him to realize what an idiot he was and what a poor decision he had made? yes. but am i glad that he finally came to his senses? YES! i am willing to give him another chance...i just hope that Merit is as well! :) oh, and i'm never much of one to
accurately guess about things that will eventually happen, but i was soooo excited when Ethan gave her the baseball. as i was reading that part back in ch. 8, i thought to myself that he will find and get that
for her, and sure enough, w/in days, there he is doing just that. the fact that he did it so quickly i think spoke volumes about him realizing quickly what a mistake he had made in breaking things off w/ Merit.
another one of my favorite parts in this book is the resolution of Merit & Mallory's friendship. honestly, their falling out in FNB was the most heartbreaking for me, even more so than the angst b/t Merit and
Ethan. their friendship is amazing...just beautiful, and i am so glad that Merit was able to pull herself up by the bootstraps and admit to Mallory how she faltered in their relationship. it takes a lot to admit when you've done someone wrong, and i do think that she was wrong in not being there for Mallory more as she was dealing w/ her magic, but it was so nice to see Merit admit that and apologize for it. Mal is definitely the bestest friend Merit could have. i truly love their friendship...so very special and profound.
okay, my heart totally broke when Luc made the comment about him and Lindsay, that they "aren't". i really would love to know more about their history. have they already tried their hand at a relationship and called it quits, or has it just been angst-ridden since day 1? his response to Merit led me to believe that there is more history there. looking forward to having their relationship explored more.
so i totally can't stand Lacey...what a beyotch! first to call Merit "common" and then to be so nasty to Merit later w/r/t Ethan. if she and Ethan are so perfect, then why didn't she decline testing for a house of her own and just continue her relationship with him? so glad that Merit brought her up to Ethan and that he denied being involved with her.
before this turns into a novel, i just also wanted to note that i love the friendships Merit is forming in the House. love Lindsay, and really like Margot and Katherine, too. i love that even though Merit had such
a rough and different beginning to her vamp life, her fellow Novitiates are embracing her as their sister. i loved it when they told her that they were "rooting for her" w/ Ethan. very sweet.
also, loved the Jeff and Fallon storyline. Jeff is awesome, and so glad that he found someone worthwhile.
the whole shifter story was very interesting, and as others have noted, there are so many things to look forward to in that regard. so many questions, and so many ways for their story and interaction with Cadogen
can play out. thought Gabriel's prophecy was really interesting, esp. since Ethan was included.
overall, i thought the book was fantastic...excellent storylines and plot, and i also really, truly enjoyed all the very witty banter and dialogue throughout the book.

The part about their combined magic was really neat. It would have been embarrasing to have everyone know though! haha. I hope we hear more about it in future books!

omg. i loved the last scene between merit and ethan, but i like all their scenes together anyway. but i just loved the ending. just perfect.
**SPOILER**
"He paused, then tapped a finger against the box. “This is a wish,” he said quietly, “that even after four hundred years of existence, a man can be strong enough to accept the gifts he’s given.”
“Ethan—,” I began, but he shook his head.
“I’m prepared to wait for a positive response.”
“That’s going to take a while.”
Ethan lifted a single eyebrow, a grin lifting one corner of his mouth. “Sentinel, I am immortal."

I second all that!
yes. i just want them back together! and we gotta wait like a year to see if that will happen. its driving me crazy. thankfully i have lots of books to fill the time.

Thanks! I can't wait, everyone I know keeps telling me to read them but I wanted to read them back to back and I think I finally have the time now!

I agree, reading them back to back is a very good idea!! That's what I did when I discovered the series because I just couldn't get enough. Kind of glad there were already six books out, well seven if you count the insider's guide, when started reading. Love, love, love the BDB!!!!

i agree. they are really good when you read one right after another. I did the same thing when I found out about them. Midnight Breed is also another good series, by Lara Adrian.

I really want to like Morgan -- I think that if he is who he claims to be, he could be really good for her... and part of me kind of wishes he would step up his game a bit and not let Merit go without a fight... but maybe there's more to him too, and he's not totally who he presents himself to be. Oh, it's all so confusing!
PS - I want to punch that Lacey chick in the face. I'm kind of hoping that Merit takes care of that in book 4.

I was actually rooting for Morgan in the beginning, I really did and still do like him, but the more I read the more I realized Merit wasn't into him the way she should have been. I also don't know what his true agenda is yet. It's going to be hard in my eyes for her to leave Ethan and go with Morgan...all I can say she's one lucky girl either way...LOL

Mine is when they were in Ethan's office during Lacey's party and Ethan admitted that he was conflicted and just how much he really cares about Merit. I loved when he said "That you belonged to me Ethan Sullivan, not Ethan Master of C, but just me!!!!" Serious thud moment.
