Oh my welcome back to Blaze Vicki Lewis Thompson!
Dominique definitely finds the right man to start her fling with but I think she got a lot more than she was looking for, in more ways than one! Her first encounter with Nick was steamy hot and he isn't happy with her idea of what the rest of her vacation will be, photography only. I'm not sure how Dominique had the willpower to say no after their fling but it sure will be fun reading how Nick turns that no into a sultry yes!
Nick will be a busy man between flirting with Dominique and trying to help his brother, who is in need of some serious attitude adjustments if he doesn't want to lose most of their ranch hands. Why do so many respond to grief with anger and take it out on the very ones who are their to support them and/or greive with them? I know anger is part of the whole process of healing but it is so difficult to watch someone hurt themselves like that. Both of the Chance brothers that are introduced to us in the first chapters need a good women for very different reasons.

Ok, so Nick didn't do much flirting with Dominique like I was expecting. After a rough afternoon of fighting with Jack, his brother, Nick works off some steam finishing up the post hole digging. I enjoyed that mental image very much. To bad all that physical exertion didn't clear his mind of Dominique or he might have had a better time in town. Instead, he gets the shock of a lifetime when he returns home early. Luckily, Dominique hears him and is there for him when he needs someone desperately. Being an older brother in a grumpy mood, Jack doesn't take it very well when he hears the two together and with Nick still reeling from his shock, he doesn't take kindly to his brother's interference and they fight some more. So, Nick tempts Dominique into a little campout in a tent to escape and the night turns sizzling hot.
Dominique grew on me a bit when she went to help Nick regardless of not being sure it was the best thing to do. I can understand why she doesn't want to get in a relationship and Nick definitely has people saying he is the committing type. However, I don't agree with her thought process most of the time. She needs to let go of the past and look for happiness in her future wherever it takes her.

After having a good time camping, you would think Nick would give in when Dominique says she doesn't want to do dinner and dancing. She isn't much of a dancer. Nick wants her to get the entire Wyoming experience and in his opinion that includes dancing the two-step. Of course it gets him away from the ranch where his anger may flare again so a dancing they go. I liked that when ordering dinner, she ordered the steak rather than what her mind was telling her to get. Letting go of another restriction she has had for the past couple of years must have felt good. Oh, and I hope there was a tablecloth at their table! Hiding behind the menus to talk wouldn't hide everything else. LOL
Krystean, with just a little over 200 pages, there are some things I think it was hoped we as readers would pick up on. The fact that she has a successful business and that her parents were proud could have been mentioned as a clue that she isn't as flaky as she was before dating her ex. As for getting dumped, at the point I am at, there hasn't been many clues, other than her wanting to get involved in Nick's situation, no matter how hard she tries to stop, that she is moving past that situation. Plus, since the series is called the Sons of Chance, I'm sure the books will be more focused on whatever conflict surrounds the hero. So, Nick's conflict gets resolved quickly, huh? Well I guess it would have to considering I don't have many pages left to go. I was kinda wondering if it would carry over some into Jack's story. He'll need a feisty woman if you ask me. Someone to make him fight and get all his bottled up emotions free.
I'm like you in one of my reasons for reading Harlequin books. I love getting lost in a way of life or background that is totally different from mine. I would love to travel and see the world but that won't happen unless I win the lottery so their books give me that escape as well. Harlequin offers such a variety each month; I'm guaranteed an emotional adventure of my choosing with each title I pick.

When I was little I remember my mom, grandmother and even my babysitter always with a Harlequin at hand and the covers would always catch my eye especially if it had a boat or a palm tree or something exotic on the cover. The first one I ever read took place on a Greek island, I think it was called Koros in the book and the heroine was always going to lie in the sun on the villa's private beach. So, like you, I travel vicariously through books. Now my eyes tend to gravitate towards the hot cover models!

The third brother, Gabe, comes home and Jack is just as grumpy with him. Nick shares his shocking news with Gabe who gives him some good advice and then Nick gets even more shocking news. Dominique runs back home but not before discovering that Nick wants her to stay. They share some incredible love-filled sex to build some lasting memories because they both know it will be the last time. However, she gets a chance that "fate" drops in her lap and you get your HEA. Next Sons of Chance book is Ambushed! due out in July. It is Gabe's story.
Krystean, no, your comment wasn't a spoiler at all or I would have put up a spoiler alert. It just gave me a clue that I was going to get more of a conclusion than I thought I would which is a good thing because I'm not the best at waiting.
I'm not sure how I developed an early love of reading. I rarely saw anyone reading for pleasure. Then in one of the homes I babysat at, the mom had a small bookcase full of Harlequins. I got bored while the child was napping and picked a book to read. Haven't stopped since! I've turned my family into readers as well. Now, both my sister and mom don't leave home without a book in hand.
Next "Read with Me" book is Pamela Callow's Damaged, a medical thriller.

Wanted!by Vicki Lewis Thompson
Photographer Dominique Jeffries has come to Wyoming to find herself—her creative self, her sexual self. After escaping the engagement from hell, she's dying to break loose and live a little. And seducing a shirtless, sweaty cowhand looks like just the place to start….
Nick Chance isn't exactly a cowhand but, hey, he'll be whatever the lady wants! Only he soon realizes that this is more than just a quick roll in the hay. There's something about Dominique that calls to him, something about her that completes him.
There's only one problem. Dominique wants a fling, not another relationship.
Little does she guess how easily she'll be persuaded to take a Chance—again and again and again!
Sounds like a good one to me!
