Hi Everyone!

Tarquin Hall will be joining the group for the week of June 28th to participate in the discussion of his book The Case of the Missing Servant: a Vish Puri mystery - which recently was given away to 5 readers for a mini-group read here.

I will post the group dicussion thread on June 21st, so those of you who own the book, or plan to own the book, should get started reading now... to prepare to discuss the novel.

Don't forget, if you like THE CASE OF THE MISSING SERVANT, Hall has another mystery novel releasing June 15th! The Case of the Man Who Died Laughing: From the Files of Vish Puri, Most Private Investigator.

How cool would it be to read BOTH novels and discuss with the author when he gets here????

Petra Lori, I just picked this book up from the Library this afternoon! How coincidental! I guess that means I need to read this quickly and join in.

Tarquin Hall (tarquinhall) Hi everyone. I'd be happy to take your questions. In the meantime just wanted to thank you for your comments. It's always great to get feedback. Just a word or two on the similarities some of you have drawn between Puri and other Western detectives... It wasn't my intention to make Puri like, say, Poirot. I've styled him on many of the male, middle aged Punjabis whom I've met over the years. They're always quick to communicate their standing in society - which clubs they're affiliated with, books they've written, awards they might have received, exotic places they've travelled, etc. It's important in Indian society - and I believe many societies in that part of the world, the Middle East especially - to establish your status/standing. After all, you can't have people thinking you're part of the 'riiiff-raaaf'!

Hi Tarquin!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your very busy book tour to stop in and visit!! What a wonderful opportunity this is - it's not everyday you get to talk to an author!

Look forward to discussions with you over in the book thread.
