So ladies, and our few gents, how many groups have you joined? And how many are you actively participating in? Inquiring minds want to know!

I'm currently in 7 groups. I have belonged to others and then dropped them. I am most active in our Cozy Mystery group but drop into the others occasionally.
Right now I belong to 5 different groups. I've belonged to others and left for one reason or another. I'm probably most active on this board and my Mystery/Thriller group which is what brought me to GR in the first place. A bunch of us were on an AOL board for years and transferred over here last year after AOL started screwing with their boards. The other 3 groups I belong to are all UF boards of one type or another.
I belong to 10 groups but am active on only 7 of them. The other groups don't seem to have much activity.
I am a member of 3 groups which include this one and a romance group. I use to work for a local community college and they formed a group so I am a member there also, but there hasn't been any activity there in several months. I am most active here and I really enjoy this group the most.
I've joined 3 groups. This one definitely has the most daily activity. I'm also part of the 144 books in 2010 and the Q&A with Susan Wittig Albert, but it hasn't had any activity since Oct. 2008.
I guess I haven't been on GR that long so this is the only group I'm in. I read other books besides Cozy mysteries but that is the type of book I read most. I guess I should check out what all is out there, eh?
Caroline (and anyone else): If you like to read a variety of books, check out The Next Best Book Club (TNBBC). They have at least two monthly group reads, usually a classic and soemthing else, which members nominate and vote on end of each month. There are actually three reads this month, as there was a tie in the classics poll that could not be broken: The Red Tent, Pride and Prejudice and The Count Of Monte Cristo. I just read P&P in May, but might give Count a try, depending on how the rest of this month's reading selections go.
Heather L wrote: "Nine total joined, but dropped two, and am most active in this one and TNBBC."Just curious Heather, how did you get the group name to show up as a link?
Denise: I used html. Here's the code you use:
group name
Insert the web address in between the quotation marks where it says "url", then where I have "group name" above you enter whatever the name of the website or book/movie/article title or whatever it is you want to link to. It's about the only html I know. Comes in very handy! :)

I belong to 4 groups. But I'm most active in this group and the Mystery group Melodie was talking about. I belong to a Harry Potter group, but I think I've only looked at it once ;(
I belong to 3 groups but mostly active in this group. The other I get involved in is a romance group with lots of reading challenges.
Very cool. I'm thinking about joining The Next Best Book Club. I'm very active in this group (surprise, surprise). But I don't read cozy mysteries exclusively, and am using GoodReads to help expand my reading horizons. For the past little while, I feel as though I've gotten stuck in a rut.
GoodRead definitely expands your horizons. I've read several books since joining I wouldn't have otherwise considered, such as Shutter Island, The Botticelli Secret, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire (and can't wait for August when Mockingjay is finally out).
It looks like we will be nominating books for July group reads pretty soon in TNBBC. Lori was just taking suggestions for a July theme. There is usually one general fiction/nonfiction selection, and some sort of theme - which looks to be books under 200 pages for July. Apparently people wanted something "short" after this month's selections. Can't say I blame them, LOL! She'll take nominations for a week, and then we get to vote.

Yes, I've noticed that about GoodReads. Already I've picked up some recommendations that I've found in the groups I've joined, and it's got to be said, it is wonderful to find support for reading online. It's great motivation to see other people struggle through reading the same books you're struggling to get through, and also to see strategies on how to get through impossibly long books.
I belong to 3 groups, even a moderator in one(lol). This one is by far the most active of the three.
It is called Should have read classics. For those books that you never read and most people are shocked when you say that you have not read them.
I'm in 16 but I'd like to delete one if I can figure out how. I joined it to ask a question for my daughter and she doesn't want to join.
Mary: On the group main page, in the right-hand navigation bar, look for "You are a member of this group (edit membership)." Click on edit membership and you'll find another button to unsub.
I belong to 6 groups. Three I participate in (this one, Book Addicts & 50 Books a Year Challenge) and three I am a total lurker.
I belong to four groups including this one. One I just joined today. Another is more or less a "list" very little interaction. This on is my favorite.
I belong to five groups and am getting more and more active as the summer wans onward. I just retired from 30 years of teaching, so my time is not going to be an issue any more! I get a lot of my reading ideas from these groups. Such nice people!!!
I'm with Dru. Too much to do, too little time. Life is short, eat dessert first - I'm only on this one group. : )
I'm currently members of 5 groups including this one. But I've gone through many groups, but all of the others have gone dormant. Like, the last comments were from last year dormant.
I am only in two groups. I once had more but found that I couldn't devote as much time to all of them, I was in four total. Have to winnow it down. And my interests vary as well.
I am in seven groups. I play the games on this site, but am most active in reading and participating in History book club. They have lots of choices, free giveaways and loads of discussions.
I belong to 12 groups. I'm active in 8 of them but like to follow the posts in the others. I used to belong to more (!) but realized it was completely insane so I pruned my list. It's hard when I get invited to new groups by friends, especially when the name looks interesting.
I belong to 12 groups and now Emily mentioned about the History Book club. I love The Scandi book clubs,Book Haven, Mysteries and Thrillers,Agatha Christie. The Quilting and Gardening groups, Cozy Mysteries, I am totally addicted to word and sentence games and adore the author blogs. I also love the book challenges. Do I spend too much time on the computer!!!!
I belong to 8 groups and currently participate in 6 of the 8. I am most active in this group. TNBBC comes in 2nd. Considering dropping the 2 that I just lurk.
I keep my group involvement to 3 - this one, the GR Feedback Group, and the Librarians group. Otherwise I wouldn't have any time to read. :)
I'm active in three groups: The Children's picture book group, the Newbery book group, and the Cozy Mystery group.

You're really busy now only with librarian group ;) (it's the group I read more these last days).

O boy am I! lol. Although I've rescued all my books now - I kind of got into the groove of doing it over the weekend and just didn't want to stop. Plus, it was a really good learning experience for this new librarian. :)
I haven't rescued them and I'm not sure I can do it. Most of them are Spanish editions, so it's complicated to find them. And covers...
I know - I've been rescuing a few from the master list and the number of foreign editions is overwhelming. I'm not touching them, of course, since my language skills are pretty non-existent. I'm hoping for everyone's sake that they will be able to start integrating foreign sources ASAP.Have you noticed your numbers going down at all since the imports began?
They have gone from 156 till 121 (with some help from my side). But I've discovered that the import till works as it likes, the editions in need of rescue are a bit "strange" in some cases, and all the things I expect from the handle of a big quantity of data, so no a lot of hope in a good outcome of this (cynical programmer talking here).
I had about 7 groups and am down to 4. I just did not have the time to do them. And still have trouble participating in 4 I have left.

Exactly.
I'm in Victorians!, because most of my favorite classics are from that period, The Dusty Bookshelf, because I have tons and tons of TBR books and it's great motivation, Tudor History Lovers, because I have lots of books on that subject, The Readers' Review, because there are several people there that I know from the B&N boards, and now this one, because cozies are my favorite genre!
