Jenny (narcisse) I'm pretty sure that if you use Paypal they do the currency conversions without charging you extra.

Hey Natasha, was Jenny able to answer your question for you? Let me know if paypal works, otherwise we can definitely find a way to get you a copy! And thanks for helping out, Jenny!

Hey Natasha, I just emailed you. Thanks for checking the story out!

Yeah, the website downloading mechanism really isn't optimal. People are better off going to Amazon or Smashwords.

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments The Shadowing (Powerless, #2) by Jason Letts I'm excited to let everyone know that the second book of the Powerless series, The Shadowing, has been released on Amazon.com. I hope everyone who enjoyed the first one will come check it out!

You can find it here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0041G6KT4

Jason, sorry for the late response. I just caught your reply.

I read all types of fiction but I have been reading a lot of sci-fi, horror, and thriller books lately.

Every once in awhile I read some non-fiction also but not very often.

Hey Scott, thanks for your reply. I've been thinking a lot about the thriller genre lately. It seems to me that it's important for all books to have some sort of excitement about them, and so in a way all books might be considered thrillers. Just a bit of my musings. Hopefully you're finding lots of thrilling books lately!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments The more I hear about your books, Jason, the more I want to read them. I might have to suck it up and get an electronic copy. I prefer having physical books in my hands as opposed to electronic books, but I might just have to give in for this series.

Thanks for your interest, Brittany! I've been lucky that some people have been having fun with them. As for the print version, unfortunately the current status is: so close yet so far. I've been waiting for my friend who does the formatting to do the first few pages, but he's so backed up I have no idea when he'll get to it. I could do it myself and order the review copy tomorrow, but I know it wouldn't look nearly as good. So I'm leaning toward waiting. I know there are other people waiting for print copies too.

I'd say if you find yourself ready to read it, grab the kindle for PC app and see how that works for you.

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments Bluemoon wrote: "ack! I can't believe the second one is here and I haven't even gotten the first one.

JASON: do you think it will come out on hard copy?"

We are absolutely going to have print versions, but my best guess is it'll take another month. My friend said he might be able to get to it by next weekend. Then I can submit and order the review copy, which will hopefully be ok.

I'd jump out of a window to hand my book to somebody, so it kills me that people who want to read it can't. Believe me, I'll let you and everyone know.

message 63: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I'm waiting for the hard copy as well. I am a print only reader :(

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments Heidi I wrote: "I'm waiting for the hard copy as well. I am a print only reader :("

I completely understand, and I want all of you to be as comfortable as possible reading it. I'll be sure to contact everyone interested in the print version as soon as it's available.

And thank you all so much for your support! It's been fun playing author, and this has been a big part of what makes it worth it to me. I'm slowly creeping up on 500 sales, which is a big accomplishment seeing as I've only been doing this a few months! Thank you all again!

message 70: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, I can't tell you how many times I hve sat in front of my book shelf unable to decidewhat to read next. At least if you can narrow it down to two you can alway flip a coin to decide, lol

message 71: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Try throwing audiobooks into the mix Lori! I actually listen to 3 audiobooks at a time (home, car, mp3 player), because I am insane. I change my mind from minute to minute on what to listen to next.

message 72: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I have a few audio books Heidi. I usually get ones the boys can listen too and put them on in the car. But I tend to zone out on them. they are like books for me, I need to be sitting in a chair and focased on only the story. No listening while cleaning or I miss half the story, lol.

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments Yeah, I thought the video was pretty funny too. I know what you mean about having too many books to choose from. There are so many good ones competing for our attention!

And working on a Saturday--Ouch! I hope it goes quickly for you, Brittany!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Me too, and I have very little to do (workwise),I'm mostly just here to supervise others this morning... hence the goodreads time.

I also need to get some homework done, BUT I need to wake up a bit more before I can start concentrating on Statistics.

RomanceNovelNews.com (RomanceNovelNews) | 13 comments "Nightshade," by Andrea Cremer, comes out next week. I think that although it starts out slow, it has the making of a great new paranormal series about witches and the werewolves who guard them.

I appreciate that, Kourtni! Thanks for reading! Be sure and tell your friends. I'm shooting for a December 1st release of Book 3, Powerless: The Stasis.

And for everyone else, the print version of book 1 should be live in just a couple of days! How does it look??

I could not get over what happened to Mira in The Shadowing and how it affected her. I didn't expect it at all. Crazy crazy crazy. What a great read!

message 88: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yeah Jason! The print looks great. I will def. be buying it :)

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Jason, I'm excited about the print. Be sure to let us know when it becomes available for purchase.

message 90: by Jason (new)

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments Thanks for your interest, Heidi and Brittany. The book is actually available now, but CreateSpace slipped a typo into the title (of the webpage, not the book), and so I'm trying to get that fixed. That's the only reason I'm not trumpeting it from a mountaintop. But you're welcome to it now: https://www.createspace.com/3490127

Bluemoon, thanks so much for reading. I hope the story is working for you. Book 1 really is an innocent story about fitting in that I equate with the early Harry Potter books. A cliffhanger though? I would never! :) Then after Book 1 I think Kourtni said it best: "I could not get over what happened to Mira in The Shadowing and how it affected her. I didn't expect it at all. Crazy crazy crazy. What a great read! That ending just killed me!! I have to know what happens!!!!" That's really exactly what I was going for, Kourtni. I'm so glad you found the story entertaining! Trust me, there's plenty more craziness to come.

I have to tell you though that if you enjoy the books it is so important for you to do what you can to tell other people. Blogging, recommending, telling friends. For someone like me who is doing this independently, that makes a HUGE difference. Thank you all for your support and enthusiasm!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I just ordered it Jason!

Since you would never ever give us a cliffhanger, I want you to know that I expect the 2nd book to be available in print by the time I finish the 1st(j/k... kinda). Kourtni's comment has me scared, but I'm sure it's all part of your evil master plan.

message 93: by Jason (new)

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments Thanks Brittany! That's the first print book I've ever sold. I'm thrilled! Hopefully the book suits your tastes and you do want to continue with the series. Definitely nothing to be scared of, but a little excitement is ok, right? I will set the wheels in motion for printing #2 though.

And thanks for your interest too, Lori. Though the book is available in print, you still won't be finding it in stores. It'll be available on CreateSpace.com now and on Amazon.com in a couple weeks and that's pretty much it. FYI: I'll make $3-4 from Createspace and about $1 from Amazon per copy. The rest goes to corporate bigwigs. So if you have to choose one or the other... :)

A big thanks to everyone here who's given me a chance! You all are really my home team, and I hope I can live up to it now that a few more of you getting your hands on the story.

Heidi That stinks that Amazon only gives you $1! I love Amazon and was going to buy it there, but not now. I have never used create space - do you know if they take Pay Pal?

message 95: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I work for a Fullfillmene warehouse in Michigan, so I work with a lot of independant writers/publishers and I hear that a lot about Amazon.

They are great for the consumer but not so much for the vendor.

I'm ordering my copy next week (hubby's payweek, heehee) and I'll make sure to go through Createspace.com.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Heidi, I don't know about Paypal, I just put it on my credit card. Creating a profile is super easy though. I picked the cheapest shipping so I'm not supposed to get the book until November sometime, but I can be patient.

Hey Heidi, I just checked and I actually don't see a paypal option, which is lame. Maybe that's because Paypal is an Ebay thing and CreateSpace is an extension of Amazon. If you decide you want to wait until it gets onto Amazon.com, that's totally fine.

message 98: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Thanks for the update Brittany and Jason. No...I will still buy it from create space. Plan to buy it this Friday payday :)

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Heidi and Wendi, I'm just as bad, it just so happens that payday was yesterday for me though.

P.S. can you tell I'm bored at work right now. Otherwise I wouldn't be quite so quick to respond to everyone's posts. 1 more hour!

message 100: by Jason (new)

Jason (foreverjuly) | 176 comments I appreciate your interest, Wendy. I don't believe I've had the pleasure of speaking with you before. What exactly do you do with writers/publishers. I hope the book suits your tastes! And thanks to you too, Heidi! I the money is as easy to earn as it is to spend.

Brittany wrote: "but I can be patient."

I may end up being less patient than you are! November is so far away!!!

I'll list the createspace.com link in the book's description, so you all don't need to dig through this thread to find it.
