This was a very interesting book. In some ways the royalty of the time was very much a prisoner of their circumstances as were those who were in poverty. They were forced into marriages with those that quite often they have never even met. A lot was expected of them and they were criticized often when things did not go well or right. They had their faults as well but every issue has 2 sides. This was an iteresting ficitional account taken from Marie Antoinette's side.
