PUNK PUNK and more PUNK.I love raw guitars and screaming vocals. Prog was too polished and i was attracted to the DIY aspect of punk.
Aw man! I don't know if you guys will accept me into this group because I'm an old lady and all I listen to now is novelty records from the 60's. If you'd asked me in high school if I was prog or punk, I'd sneer and say, "Deathrock. Duh". Now, I don't know which I'd be. I've been listening to too much Dr. Demento.
You're not old, believe me. I remember seeing Roxy Music on their first tour (1972 A.D.) at The Whiskey A Go-Go when Brian Eno was in the band in his peacock feathers and eye shadow. My piss is dryer than yours, trust me!
In my life I've always been more of a punker, but these days I've been listening to a lot of prog rock. Still, in the long run, I'm gonna have to say punk.
I am trying to be more open minded about music. Sometimes I feel like I am stuck in a time warp with my music tastes.
Im defiantly more punk. I do like the occasional prog song but honestly I feel more at home with a Dayglow Abortions tune in the background
Something about hearing "Is she really going out with him?" and the drums pounding away make me so happy.I am talking about the Damned's song not Joe Jackson's.
