Maybe I wouldnt hate twilight so much if people weren't shoving it down my throat all the time! Twilight is not the worst book ive ever read, but it's nowhere near the best. The writing doesnt merit the type of fanbase it has.
The only reason people like twilight is because they are in love with Edward. Sorry, folks. Real love isnt like that!

Well, I do like the book, but I'm not crazy about it like the others seemed to be. I joined this group for the second part of the title the 'and other books you hate' Also, I admit I was curious.I do think all the fighting about the books is immature though, which I think says a lot coming from somebody who isn't even within a year of being old enough to drive.
I also think it is stupid that people would like a book because of one character. I personally don't get what is particularly attractive about Edward. I can't be attracted to a fictional character. It doesn't work for me.
And though I enjoyed the books, I will not say that twilight is 'the best book EVER' because I have some other books that I like better that are (some of them) deeper and much less of a light read. (yes. I did just call twilight light reading. Length does not determine lightness, in my opinion. The subject matter does though. Feed by M.T. Anderson, for example, is shorter, but heavier than twilight.) I like Roald Dahl's books better, and of those I like Matilda and The BFG, even though they are for kids. I have enjoyed them at 7 and I enjoy them now. I also like (these are the heavier ones now) the classics like Oliver Twist, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, To Kill a Mockingbird, and (not as heavy) Sherlock Holmes.
All right, I have spoken my piece. Now you guys can get back to figuring out who's a hater and who's a lover.
I have to agree with you on Twilight being light reading. I really have to say that I do, however hate Edward and wish she would stay with Jacob instead. Edward just seems really shallow, but not overprotective as everbody says he is. You would protect you girlfriend too.
Well, I'm a girl so I wouldn't protect my girlfriend, but I get what you mean all the same.
............... I actually have never read twilight, but I just joined this group because I hate how my friends go on and on about edward, like you said, how he is 'so great'. I wouldn't mind reading it, but for me it doesn't sound like the greatest book in the world.
I used to be a lover, but I'm pretty sure you all know that I'm a opinionated hater now ;)

*whispers* Mally was probably the most obsessive person I knew who was in love with twilight. I myself don't really know anymore. I don't like the book but I have read worse.

it's true though. Hate is a powerful and evil word. Only used for if you will hate now and forever. Mal always uses it on me.

Same here!!! haha! I have this incredible problem with one of my favorite authors characters.
arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!everyone at my school is obsessed w/ these books! but its bad obsession, because the books suck. i started reading twilight and half way through the book i still wasn't interested. i mean i am a hypocrite, seeing as im obsessed w/ harry potter, but hp books are much more interesting, so much so that they practically ruined all other fantasy books for me.
