I'm hoping that this book is available on the Kindle. It will be my first time reading the book and the second time reading Guy Gavriel Kay.
I have read this title (and its sequel)...will make sure to pull it down from the book loft to be sure where the cut off point between volumes happens.A very cool read!
I am looking forward to reading another book from this author. I got the book from half.com The book is not available on Kindle and Amazon only have used copies starting at $27.
I plan to read this and have had it on a shelf for many months. Looking forward to reading to GGK novels this month!
I plan to read it but have a couple of other Kay's to read first, so may not be done in time for the discussion.
I finished reading this last night and wrote my review a few minutes ago. I'm really kicking myself for not having the second half on hand so I could wrap up the loose ends and answer the questions I have.
I read this several years ago so I'll pull it out for a reread before July.
I just got the duo in the mail yesterday! Think I'm going to read them right after I finish the Glenda Larke.
I have a copy on my book shelf. I bought this book shortly after Ysabel came out, and I started to read it. But, it fell victim to the convenience of e-books on my to be read list. By default I usually read e-books now. I don't know how that happened, but my "real book" tbr is now pretty long. I found a hardcover of Curse of the Mistwraith there too. I might need to get the e-books.

Seems odd to me that they are available and not the earlier ones. :\
As I understand the earlier novels are not in a format that is easy for the publisher to convert into an e-book. Therefore it takes longer to get them into an electronic format (more than one actually). I've encountered this problem with a number of authors - Guy Kay for example. I want the earlier books - Sailing to Sarantium in this case - on the Kindle but they aren't available yet. Oh to have the magic wand that could make it just happen. :)As an FYI, I resisted buying an e-reader of any kind but now that I have a Kindle I love it... but only if the formatting job was done correctly. I have a book or two that it looks like the formatting was poorly done. Scene changes have no indicator. The paragraph changes and so does the point of view.
But when those first three Wurts books become available on the Kindle. I'm buying 'em!!

For Kindle books, I have the software downloaded to my computer and read it there. Works pretty well. There's also an Adobe Digital Reader that I downloaded and actually read Fugitive Prince on. That one wasn't available for Kindle and the print in the later books is so small that my aging eyes has a hard time reading it. I got it from Waterstones Books in the UK.
I've read the duology, and very much enjoyed them. They inspired me to learn how to make stained glass and mosaics.
I wrote to Janny Wurts inquiring when The Ships of Merior would be in an ebook format. Here is what she wrote me back:"There is no e book version YET, but it is 'in the queue' - the publisher is converting the 'older' formats more slowly (they are harder to do) and by demand, so best thing is to LET THEM KNOW you want the edition.
I am also going to write my editor to see what can be done to speed the process. I very much want the book in your hands in the best way."
I can't wait to get it in an ebook!
