Julie First of all, I want to thank Robin for stepping up as a Discussion Leader for this book. We are always looking for new people to step up and help to discuss the books they love!!

Taking his idea and plagiarizing from Terence and his run as discussion leader for :].Gardens of the Moon, I've added this topic for guidance during our discussion.

1) While Robin is the discussion leader and I will be helping out, feel free to open a topic and start another discussion thread if you have a question, theme or character that you want to discuss.

2) Assume that in posting to these threads, everyone has read the book and do not hesitate to include spoilers. If you’d like to talk about a topic without spoilers, please mark it as such: [NO SPOILERS:]

3) We would would ask that those who’ve read beyond The Briar King avoid spoilers from later books. If you’d like to discuss a topic and include information from the rest of the series, please mark that thread [SUPER SPOILERS:] so anyone going in will know that you’ll be referencing later volumes.

4) Have fun!

Terence (spocksbro) Hey, man!

Maybe I should copyright that intro before this gets out of hand! :-)

Julie "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!"

Robin Wiley (thursdaynext) | 29 comments Thank you, Julie! Since I've never done this before - there is no way I feel qualified to suggest guidelines! I've never even participated in a discussion before, so I'm just asking questions that interest me as a fan. I've got about 20 or so questions/topics, and I will try to come up with more. But everyone feel free to help out.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 772 comments I read this book some years ago...so I'm not really going to take a BIG part in much of this. I liked the book, but have since been "dragged away" into other reads and have yet to finish the series. Still, please allow me to "lurk" in the wings and if I manage to get caught up on some of the other "group reads" I'm in I may re-read it and then chime in a bit. I will be interested in what everyone has to say though.

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments I read it a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the discussion.

Janny (jannywurts) | 807 comments I am still reading the beginning stages - pretty lively. I'll have more time to read this weekend on the plane. Plan to finish it then.

Jeff | 18 comments I read the book a few years ago, and I had to find it again to avoid discussing the rest of the series. I still need to read more than the last few chapters to refresh my memory. I do remember eagerly awaiting the second book.

Janny (jannywurts) | 807 comments Finished it. I enjoyed the fact the author was creative with his language, and felt he did quite a deft job with his characterizations.
