@ Vida e Bella and Sky :Yeah, that's true. The same thing with my native language (Ukrainian) : "Rak" as Zodiac Sign and "rak" as disease.
But I doubt that Cancers are more prone to cancer than other Zodiac signs. :P

funny, in european portuguese, "caranguejo" (means crab) is for the sign and the animal, while cancer (disease) is "cancro"; in brazillian portuguese, it's "câncer" for both disease and sign
Krebs means crab, too. So the Germans use the word 'crab' for 'cancer' and 'Cancer'.
In Korean, it's something else entirely. The Sign of Zodiac means translated 'crab' but we have another word for cancer.

Just found this group (Thanks, Ronyell!) I have often wondered how many pages I'm reading, but never took the time to figure it out. Now is my chance! Just want to confirm that I can count all of the pages I've read since January of this year, right?

I'm the newest member around these parts :) I counted up all of my books that I can remember for this year. I have 104 including some short stories and I am near breaking 30,000 pages.
Whoop. I know school got away for awhile.
Remind me not to take 17 credits again! That was a handful and a half. But I did make Dean's List!!!
So, I'm mad and I'm mad enough to take on this challenge.

Yes, it is! I can only imagine how many books I could have read if I didn't swamp myself with school.Can I count text books because I think my million pages would be done! LOL! (I wouldn't really count them.)
LOL! Actually, textbooks count in this challenge! If you don't want to, however, you don't have to :).

I count my text books... I try to go for about 10 a year, since the ones I have are technical in nature. So it's slow going.
This looks like fun. I have a lot of going back and listing of books. Maybe by this summer I will catch up. :)

I haven't been to Texas yet :( pretty much everywhere but there and Cali. Pages are great counting. Imagine what I can read in my life time. It should be a fantastic ride!

I've been leaning around 100 a year. So, it will take me a long time to reach that goal if you break it down like that. *Sigh* I think I'm up for the task. :)

I know that when I start falling behind in my reading, I try to make it a priority. So, maybe I don't spend as much time scrubbing a floor or we eat sandwiches for dinner one night.
sandwhiches are yummy especially if they are grilled! Yum Yum Yum! We will have to keep up on each other to get this reading done. No slacking allowed here. ;) Well, we just need amazing reads because then we wouldn't even want to slack at all.

Hi! I'm Shayla and I've been following this group for while but this is my first post! I'm up for the challenge. I'm only tracking the pages that I've read from 2010 because I want to make it harder for me! No, its mainly because I don't want to try to back track and guess the dates that I've read books. I'm 25 so I have plenty of time.

Dates aren't necessary for the old ones, though right? Oh, well. I'm gonna start my list under this impression until I'm corrected. Glad to join! (:Oh, and also, do you add more pages if you reread a book or does it only count once? Because, technically, they're still pages, even if you're reading them again. I reread a lot, so I wasn't sure.

Yeah, I did the math and realized that I need to count pages from the books I've read in the past! Especially since I've barely read these past two years.
Yeah, I have absolutely no prob with you using ones from the past. I recently had to realize that I was contradicting myself. (The previous rules were you are counting pages you read in your lifetime, but if they weren't read between January of the year you joined and now, it didn't count. When I looked back on it, I thought it was so stupid. It just didn't make sense to me..)

Haha, now the only thing is getting myself to focus and add up all the pages of the books from my past! :P
LOL! I never even kept up with pages/ books until last year, so all of mine are on here. Yeah, there are def a lot that I could add on, but I don't even have access to HALF of those books anymore, so I just don't see the point, really.
I'm determined! I will add them all up...just not right now, I'm too lazy. lol
