Catrina (ninasama) Thanks so much for welcoming me, Jen and Elyssa! It seems that Gail has so many fans! I know, when I heard that there was going to be two more books in the series, I think I actually squealed!
And Jen, thanks for the book recommendation, I will definitely check it out! I also wanted to see how Steamed was as well, so I hope to read your review of it! Thanks again so much, ladies!

Hello. I'm a psychologist and university faculty member. I have a goal of 100 books a year, and I'm reading a book from every country (currently at 71%). I tend to read science fiction, natural history, Southeast Asia, psychology, memoirs, and young adult fantasy/sf, but I have a wide range of reading interests.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Hi Shoshanapnw! It's great to have you with us. good luck with your yearly goal, and I hope you enjoy it here! Happy reading :)

message 155: by Shay (new)

Shay | 862 comments Hi, I'm a stay at home mom and work for the family business so I do most of my work at home. I mostly read mysteries, fantasy, with a dash of non-fiction. If I had to guess, I would say I read about 10-20 books a week. (Usually somewhere in between, closer to 12-14. Never actually kept track, so we'll see.)

message 156: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) WOW! That's amazing, Shay. (Love that name!) That's a lot of books in one week; I don't think I could ever do it, but I think you will have a great time here, talking about books with us. I hope you do anyways. Thanks for joining! 8)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments Hello everyone :)

My name is Heather, and I'm sure it's obvious as I'm a member of Goodreads that I love to read :P
I think that the idea behind this group is great and look forward to trying to meet the goal.

message 160: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) hello heather!

message 161: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 133 comments Hi Heather!! Welcome!

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments Thank you :)

message 163: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome Welcome Welcome.

I'm so glad you could join us.

message 164: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Hi Hether! Welcome to the group! I think every whose on GRs has to love--or at least like--reading, or they wouldn't be apart of the site. :D

message 165: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) ditto, thats true

message 166: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments Well I sertanly hope everyone on here likes to read, if they don't I don't think that their going to like it all tat much.

message 167: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 133 comments HA! Could you imagine joining a book site and you didn't like books. LOL! Seriously, that is a funny thought!

message 168: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yepps! My bro wanted to join GRs. Was psyched that he wanted to (notice the past tense!), but I figure he'd be like my mom: Have an account and barely get on it.

message 169: by Heather (new)

Heather (nickyblue7) | 486 comments three of my friends on here hate reading but were forced to go on by r teacher for summer reading

message 170: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 133 comments I could imagine there are quite a few teenagers forced into that predicament. Just never thought about it, teachers never made us do that kind of thing, even in college. :D

message 171: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments I've never heard of any teachers making students come on this site, I wish that my teachers would have done that.

message 172: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yeah though if they hate reading theyre not doing anything in here

message 173: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I'm agreeing.

However, once they are done with the requirement I image they would let their account go.

I really like counting up my books and pages.

message 174: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments So do I, I like to see how much I have actually read.

message 175: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 133 comments ooooooo, I love that! Especially the pages! That part is fun. Guess thats why I'm in this group. :D

message 176: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments ahaha ya I think that that makes sense :P
An I like to pages too cause it really shows you how much you've been reading instead of just the number of books.

message 177: by [deleted user] (new)

I think counting pages is more efficient then counting books. I find that when I'm trying to count books I'll grab for the smaller books instead of trying to tackle a larger more interesting book. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this.) *Sigh* Now I grab for everything I can.

message 178: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments I grab the smaller ones sometimes too, if I have a lot going on than I definitely will choose a smaller book.

message 179: by [deleted user] (new)

It does help to read the smaller ones when life is busy. No one wants to spend a month on one 800+ page book.

message 180: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments No especially if your in school and reading other books too.

message 181: by Andrez (new)

lol i know what you mean me too

message 182: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks ladies for taking my side. :)

message 183: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments No problem :P

message 184: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 133 comments It's never taken me a month to read a book. Even the long ones. That Harry Potter book number 7, I was working full time and I finished it up in three days. :D However, I might have issues.

message 185: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments I've spent a month on a book before, but only because I had to put it down for awhile.

message 186: by Angela (new)

Angela B | 425 comments I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in less then 24 hours and that was 700 pages....I love Harry Potter I want to go to the new Harry Potter amusment park thing

message 187: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) | 79 comments OMG! I do too, so bad.

message 188: by Sherri (new)

Sherri (sherrij2003) | 170 comments Me too! I know 2 people who have been and they say it was awesome. I'm waiting until around Sept though when all the new-ness dies down. Plus kids will be back in school. I went around that time a couple years ago and walked on to every ride. Plus I only live like 2 hrs South of Orlando so I can go anytime really easily.

message 189: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 133 comments Sherri, you will have to tell us how it is. I really have wanted to go to that ever since I saw the commercials for it! It looks so awesome!

message 190: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to have to check into it. I have make sure it is suitable for my three boys. Of course, it doesn't help that middle one is a chicken. Those are deg not my genes!!
