Nope. Not to LA. I've been to Florida, but not LA. I love London, it's such a big city. I'm from a little further up north in Yorkshire, but London it cool. Theatre in London is AMAZING. haha. :-)

Hello to everyone new. I'm a bit lacking here lately. I'm in China teaching for a semester and have not had the best internet around. :(

But happy to see new people and everyone kicking butt with the reading!

I sort of enjoy the teaching but it's frustrating when you see people not trying. I'm ready to get home and have regular GoodReads time. To have my reading routine back. Overall, I don't mind China but I'll be happy to be home in July:

OK, this may sound grandiose but a few minutes ago I calculated my estimate, waxing on the low side; I didn't even include college and post grad. work/books.Plus I managed a Huge bookstore, and worked for several years @ an amazing bookstore on Martha's Vineyard. Seriously, I'm not exaggerating.

When I was a child my family lived on the water and my father, like me, was a voracious reader. People would visit so they could sit by the sea and partake of our library. When I was very young I was frustrated because no one would pay attention to me: they all had their noses in a book. Finally, my father figured this out and bought me an antique library ladder so I could reach any book I wanted. He started me out with the classics, all leather bound. Heidi was my first, then Gulliver's travels. I was about five.

Ok, so... my calculation today (I'll revise it soon... I'm new here...) comes to 1,549,600. to date.

P.S. this doesn't include any studies, scholarly articles, etc. or the fact that we were taught Latin and speed reading in prep. school. I devour books.

So I guess my goal soul be 2 or 3 million?... I'm slightly over 50. I've got a ways to go.

Anybody out there like me???

Uhm....wow. That's a LOT of pages!!!! You should definitely aim for 2 or 3 million pages.

I just started reading classics about 2 years ago. But 5 years old? That's amazing.

Hello everyone!

My name is Elizabeth, Beth for short. I've been a Goodreads member for over a year but my toddler managed to delete my account yesterday, so I get the pleasure of starting over. Actually though, it isn't to bad because I was planning on changing things anyway.

I absolutely love books. I read just about anything and have been ever since I learned to read. As far as keeping track goes, I only began doing that the beginning of last year. I don't have as much time for reading as I'd like/used to but I'm only 27 so I've got plenty of time to make it to "a million" pages. Knowing me, probably more.

I look forward to reading and sharing my progress with you all.

I live in the near from Munich and for the time of the apprenticeship I will live there, because it's nearer to my work. :)

If I go every day to Munich by train would have two hours alone, I would need to Munich and that's just too stressful for me ^.^

I understand :). I wouldn't want to take the train that much either. That's really cool, though. My parents and I were talking about taking a cruise to Europe for my senior trip, but we don't know if that's going to work because we'd have to take a plane to and from Barcelona.

It is a fun way to count your books. Sometimes we just set aside the 500+ book for the 300 pages to get another one read.
