Very true, Suzanne.

Danielle (Smiley1881) I have to say yes because when I started reading the Twilight series I would finish one book and drive up to the store right away to buy the next and so on. I also would sit and read for hours not being able to stop. It was kind of sad when I was done because I had read through them so fast instead of going slower and really enjoy them and I've never re read a book before.

My friend read all of them in one weekend. She stayed up all night doing it. So, you're not alone, Danielle.

I do the same thing - just read and read and read. I finished the Twilight series in three days, and will regularly read one book in a day and go right to the next. I just went to the library last friday (a week ago exactly) and got 9 books (three of which were the first 3 in Sydney Croft's ACRO series - amazing). I am done with them all! I really need to stop that!!! I need to learn to savor the books (and go to the library again today or I'll go crazy)!

Also, having a Nook makes this even worse! It is definitely an addiction...

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments When you are really into a series or bookk though, it is hard to slow yourself down, I always find that I race through the books I really love, then I tend to reread them at a later date to absorb all the details

I reread books a lot too. Unfortunately I just got rid of about 200 books due to moving, and I miss them desperately! It was the hardest thing ever to decide what to keep and what to get rid of! All I can say is the library is a grad school students best friend...

That's so sad when you have to get rid of your books, Amanda!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I had to do that recently as well Amanda, it is horrible having to try and decide which books to give away!

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 203 comments I will never do that to myself again I find myself looking for books I've read and want to re-read and realize I got rid of them especially if it was part of a series. I have a book consignment store I go to and I gave up books I thought I could live without. I was so wrong, never again I say, neva-eva.

I'm with you there! Never again!

I kept the ones that I knew for sure I would regret getting rid of (either ones that I reread all the time or have some sort of attachment to), but I definitely find myself looking to reread books that I forgot I sold to Half-Price books. I'm half tempted to buy them all again!

That is definitely a plus with having an eReader, there isn't an issue with space and hauling them around. But lately I've been buying paper books again (there's nothing like holding a real book in your hand and putting it on the shelf!)

I stopped reading for several years (gasp) and got rid of hundreds of books and when I started reading again I only had maybe 20 books or so that I kept. I had to almost start over trying to remember the names of books I wanted. I had better luck remembering the authors and going from there.

I don't get rid of any books that I think I will want to reread. Fortunately, I don't have big space issues, so I'm able to keep my books.

Wan (wanwaddell) | 252 comments Here are my top two at the moment.

Diana Gabaldon has gotten me addicted to "Historical Fiction".

Karen Marie Moning is trilling me with the "Dark Fantasy".

JC (ainathiel) I always feel that way when I start a good series. I have to know what will happen next or explode. Eventually, I burn out, meaning I read as much as the series as possible and then I just stop. It sounds odd, but I know of three books series that I used to shiver for, the new book sits in my libary collecting dust.
