Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments Yeah, I know, I need to slow down on Lover Mine by J.R. Ward or I'll be done and feeling after-Xmas let-down. I want to go visit the Primale!

Oh, my. Suzanne, you will probably be more of an addict for CF when you read the Ghostwalkers books. Those were my first books by her, and as a result, I am so hooked on her.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I second Christine Feehan as an amazing author! I love her GhostWalkers, Leopard People and Carpathians Series'. She's one of my favorite authors.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I am starting Shadow Games today, so may not be up for air for a few days : )

Okay. Enjoy your book.

Let me know how they are, Suzanne. I haven't read any Feehan books yet and I want the Shadow ones to be the first. I'll look forward to your opinion and anyone else that has read them!

message 58: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) It`s been a long time since I read Shadow Games, and it`s the only one I read in that series, but I remember it as being full of action,Lilly and everyone else fought off danger at every turn.
I had just finished The Carpathians and was crazy to get to Dark Hunters,I loved those two series too till they started filling them in with animals.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Feehan's GhostWalkers is an auto buy for me, as are her Carpathians and Leopard People series.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments Same here, I love anything that she writes it seems.

I can't remember many animals showing up in the Carpathian books, just the pack of wolves the Ivory (the heroine in her latest book) adopted.

message 61: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) I better get them out then, maybe I am mixing them up with Kenyons

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish The Carpathians had shifters... some could become eagles I think... I'm sure that's where I first read about the Leopard people... which was the book... Dark Symphony? I can't remember which book the band was introduced in, but I thought they had those shifters with them.

Gosh, I'm probably wrong.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish No, not shifters. The band leader was able to communicate with the Leopards, right?

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments The Dark Hunters (Sherrilyn Kenyon) from what I remember it started out as pretty much as just the Dark Hunters and then she started mentioning Werehunters (shapeshifters) and then there is the bar owned by the Peltiers who are bear shifters. Some of her books are about Werehunters (like Vane, Fury, Wren and Fang) instead of the Dark Hunters.

Carpathians- all of them can turn into an animal when required it tends to be a wolf or hawk. They mentioned the jaguar race which is a race of shifters in the later books, by they have mostly died out and only a few can change fully. She has also done another series, the Leopard series about a race of shifters that can turn into Leopards, but as far as I know that isn't connected to the Carpathian series.

Yep Darius could communicate with their "pet" leopards. But I think all the Carpathians can communicate with animals. I wish I could have a pet Big Cat, they are so beautiful

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments Lol just looked at my post, information overload!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Not overload at all, Suzanne. I appreciate the information because I read so many books that sometimes they run together.

I imagine that sooner or later the shifters will all be related somehow, just like humans, the further back we go, become related.

Iam glad too for the info because I jumped on Kenyons the minute I stopped the Carpathians and they do all run together, sometimes I can`t remember a few days later even.
Anyway I`m glad to finally know where those grouchy bears hang

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments Lol I quite liked the bears, especially Dev. I think he is getting his own book soon, or recently has one.

I haven't read Kenyon for ages, but when I first started reading them, it is another series I got really addicted to reading!

I read the first two book in the League series, and it rekindled my SK addiction.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments have you read an of her Kinley MacGregor books? I started reading them after her Dark Hunter series not realizing when I got them that they were the same author. It wasn't until i was reading them and thinking the style seemed familiar that it clicked!

Are you reading the third book soon? I didn't think it was as good as the first two, the hero doesn't quite have the wow factor that Syn and Nyk did, but it was still an entertaining read.

I love her KM books. That's how I became a fan. My sister forced me to read the Night Pleasures. Before, I wouldn't touch paranormal. I'm so grateful to my sister and KM/SK. I probably won't read Born in Ice right away. I try to break up my reads.

message 76: by Lacy (new)

Lacy (lacylaces) | 28 comments Did I really force you or did you read it so I would shut up about how good it was? Hopefully one of these days I will get back into that series and get caught up.

message 77: by Kathy Anne (new)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) Yes,now we are talking about her I want to go back too, just to regain,if possible the original Ash-he was something in those days on the mean streets of NO

Well, force is a strong word. You kept insisting that I read it. I'm glad!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I always liked Vane and Wren the most out of all the heroes she wrote. Escpecially Vane *sighs* there is just something about werewolves.

message 80: by Zee (new)

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) | 688 comments Completely aside of the book discussion going on here...

I'm actually reading The Killing Edge by Heather Graham and she has a fabulous dangerous hero in the book, in the person of Luke Cane. He's a former British police officer who murdered his wife's killer and then quit the force. Now he's a P.I. or sort of, the man people and the police of Miami turn to when they want things done/ cases resolved even if things need to turn dirty.

Absolutely addicting and mind-blowing! Just thought I'd pass the word.

message 83: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments You know, when I first started reading PNR and Romance, I actually felt like I was addicted! Or at least I was in another world, in the zone. I guess I was overwhelmed by all the gushy, sexy stuff that I wasn't getting too much of in UF or Fantasy.

message 84: by Zee (new)

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) | 688 comments That's true, Cindi. The same happened to me when I got into Romantic suspense. It seemed to me like the adrenalin rush was a high that I wasn't getting in any other genre.

LOL! Last night I was in my pj's, when I I got bit by the book bug and ran out to Books a Million just before closing. I don't think I would've been able to sleep if I hadn't gone to get a few books. If that's not the sign of an addict, I don't know what is.

Michelle Gilmore | 151 comments Cindi wrote: "Did you wear your PJ's there, Michelle? Were they Superman footsies?"

LOL! No, this time I decided to change my clothes. I didn't want to offend anybody with my bleach-stained, pj bottoms with the milk and cookies pictures, and my old beat up t-shirt from my family reunion. I just knew that if I wore that out, I'd get into an accident or something. But if it were winter time, I would've worn that for a late night book run without a second thought!

message 90: by Kelleigh (new)

Kelleigh (goodreadscomsunshine2047) I'm addicted to the writings of:

Karen Marie Moning
Jeaneine Frost
JR Ward

:)

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments I get addicted to reading Christine Feehan, I love her Carpathian series. Although JR Ward and Kresley Cole also have the same effect aswell!

Same here, Suzanne.

message 93: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments Addiction? It's when I do & say nothing all day and night because I'm reading. I can never find a good stopping place in a Feehan (for example) book, so if I have to get up, the book goes with me. I probably don't go to work or am in very late. I begin to compare my life and sweetie to Carpathians or Drake Sister's men or Leopards or Ghost Walkers. Nothing compares. When the book is over, I am exhausted and depressed.

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 203 comments I have a BDB addiction. (Zsadist) I wait for the next books desperate for anything about him. I also have an interracial love stories addiction (BWWM) I keep looking for good books to read in that genre and a young adult addiction since Harry Potter and Twilight I'm always looking for that first deep love story. You know it's funny when I first started reading romance I had a historical romance addiction for these authors, Virginia Henley, Samantha James, Nan Ryan, and Patricia Grasso. I had to buy everyone of there books. Then Paranormal and interracial jumped in my face and there you go.

Something to look forward to, I guess. I'm kind of jealous that you are going to be reading her for the first time. I have friends on here who don't like her, because she's wordy. But, her powerful stories make up for it, in my opinion.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 474 comments Yeah CF has a love it or hate it style, I don't think it is the wordiness that bothers me per se about her books, it is the repeatition that gets a bit irritating. But for me her intense stories and uber yummy heroes more then make up for it.
