((LoL! Knew you'd like it!))

Becca sucked in her breath, caught off guard, that a guy was actually helping her not fall. She stared into the depths of Brad's eyes and was captivated by his beauty and kindness. "Th-Thanks, it was nice of you to help me." and she quickly pulled away, determining that she wasn't going to break her promise to herself tonight.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments Brad let go of her, but gently cupped her elbow to help her down the stairs. Once outside, he led her across the street and safely into the truck. He wasn't taking any chances that she might trip again. Maybe she was clumsy. He hadn't really noticed it before. "So, how does Mexican sound?"...

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
Becca stared at Brad for a moment and replied."Mexicans good." and turns to stare out the window, seeing the landscape blur by her, she secretly stole glances at him once in awhile, she couldn't help how she was getting to feel about him. When they arrived at the resteraunt Becca quickly got out and went to Brad's side, willing to share anything with him if it could get her just one more kiss.

message 104: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments He smiled. 'She seems to be warming up to me. That's good'. He looked at her, marveling the way the slight breeze blew her long hair, lifting it away from her heart shaped face. "You're totally ruining my reputation as a gentleman. Why can't you wait for me to get the door for you?" His smile widened to let her know he was kidding. "But since you're already here...." he wrapped his arm around her waist and led her into the restaurant. As they were being seated, he whispered into her hair, "And before you can pull that damned wallet out, it's my treat, okay?"

Becca stared at him innocently, "Why ever would I think otherwise?" and quickly looked the other way, blushing. The hostess seated them at a booth by a window. Becca made sure to sit on one of the sides by herself and gestured for him to take the otherside. She wasn't ready for his closeness just yet.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments ((ARGH! You really are liking this teasing, aren't you? lol))

Picking up the menu, he looked at her over the top. "Do you know what you want?" 'cuz I definitely know what I want', he thought as he chanced a glance where her halter top made a "v", quickly returning to look at her face before he was caught. He felt guilty for doing it but couldn't seem to help himself.

((Never! J/K just playing around a bit.))

Becca stared at the menu for a bit and then nodded her head. "Yeah, I know." and set the menu aside, staring at Brad's eyes and quickly averted them away and settled on staring out the window.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments 'Why does she insist on doing that?' he thought as he watched her profile. "Okay then, tell me what you want and I'll order for you."

message 109: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
Becca looked at Brad confused, "I can order for us." But she saw the look in Brad's eyes and replied," Just a bean and cheese taco." and looked down at her hands on the table.

message 110: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments "You sure that's all you want?" He gave her a skeptical look. "I can see why you're so small. You eat like a bird." He said it in jest, his green eyes sparkling wickedly. "You know, I bet you I could lift you with one arm." He looked back at the menu, a slight smile playing at the corner of his mouth. "Let me see", he ran his finger up one side of the menu and down the other, making little "hmmm" noises, his brow creased in concentration. The waitress came up and eyed Brad appreciatively. Her tone was clearly flirtacious, "So honey, see anything you like?"
Brad placed the menu flat on the table. "Okay, she'll have the bean and cheese taco, and I'll have the steak chimichanga, Beaf and bean burrito, five hard tacos, five soft tacos, Oh, and make sure you bring us a double order of the soft cheese dip and guaccamole." He glanced up at the waitress and flashed her that devastating smile. "And keep the chips coming." The waitress leaned over to fill his water glass, giving him a generous view of her cleavage. He looked away and right into Becca's beautiful eyes....

Becca stared open mouthed at Brad. and then looked back out the window. She hated the stupid waitress but she didn't say anything. "I don't eat much," Becca replied and picked at a napkin that was in front of her. "So..."

message 112: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments He couldn't help but laugh. She was so serious all the time. He had to do something to make her smile. Picking up his napkin, he began manipulating the paper. Being sure to glance at Becca to see if she was paying attention, he turned the ends this way then that. He could tell she was curious but everytime she would catch him looking at her, she would jerk her head away and look at the window. He smiled to himself. Reaching out, he took her hand and placed the oregami bird in her palm. "Bet he eats more than you do," he chuckled.

((Sorry, I'm a horrible speller, and don't you ever go to bed?))

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
Becca let out a small smile, "I hardly doubt that." and took the bird out of his hand and placed it next to her. "So, tell me something about yourself, something that I don't already know."

((I'm a bad speller too! I do go to bed but it's usually around 2 or something! It's only 11 here!))

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments 'Ahhh, now she's starting to loosen up,' he thought as his eyes twinkled at her mischieviously. "Okay, let me see....I bet you didn't know that I draw."

message 115: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
Becca shrugged, "No, I didn't. I honestly thought all you did was play football and other sports. but that's cool you draw." Becca replied suprised and looked Brad in the eyes.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments They were sitting at one of those restaurants that supplied crayons and the paper table cloth for the kids. Brad knew the art supplies were just to keep the kids occupied but he loved to come in here and doodle on the paper table cloth. He knew the owners and they even had some of his "masterpieces" framed and hanging on the walls. Turning around to the booth behind them, he snatched a few crayons off the table and began running the black crayon over the paper....

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
Becca watched in awe as he drew, seeing his gentle strokes and delicate curves made her melt. He seemed like an ordinary Jock on the outside but when he was drawing he was revealing something within himself that suprised Becca. She watched his hand, not once taking her eyes off it until he was done. She gasped in shock when she saw the most beautiful drawing in front of her eyes. "Th-That's amazing. You've got some talent there Brad."

message 118: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments "Thanks! I really wanted to go to college on an art scholarship, but my dad said it was stupid not to take advantage of the football scholarship already offered to me. Who knows, maybe I'll get to college and have a severe football injury, then I can concentrate on the whole art thing." He smiled conspiratorily at Becca. Just then the waitress came with their order on a huge platter. She placed it on the table behind them. "So you're the artist! I've seen your work, it's amazing! Oh!" She looked from the portrait to Becca. "You really captured the beauty of her eyes." She leaned in close, "Do you do nudes?" She laughed seductively and Brad just chuckled. "Uh, no, I'm not really all that good with bodies. I like to concentrate my efforts on faces."
"Well, unless you want your masterpiece soiled, I suggest you rip away the table cloth while I go get you another one." She scooted away as Brad carefully tore Becca's image from the rest of the paper. He folded it carefully and stuck it in his jacket pocket...

Becca glared at the waitress, she was so trying to hook up with Brad, though maybe that was for the better. But the more she learned about Brad the more she was becoming comfortable with him. Becca sighed and looked out the window.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments ((again with the window? must be something very interesting out there. lol))

He noticed her looking out the window again. "Uh, would you excuse me for a minute? I gotta go do something. I'll be right back." Before she could say anything, he scooted out of his seat and disappeared down the long hallway that led to the exits and the bathrooms. "I've got to get her to loosen up. Just when I think she's warming up to me, she retreats into her shell again. But this ought to do it.' He raced outside and crouching low so he couldn't be spotted, he moved to the window she was looking out of. After counting to three, he jumped up, his face suddenly right in front of hers.....

message 121: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
((Maybe there's a cute guy out there! I'd be looking if that were the case! LoL!))

Becca gasps in suprise. What was he doing out there? After her heart stops beating so fast she lets out a small smile. She had to give him credit for trying. She shook her head and turned her head to look away from the window, hoping he'd take it as sign she'd do better and waited for him to come back inside. She starte to nibble on her taco when Brad slipped back in the booth seat with her. She stiffened.

message 122: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments ((did he slip into the seat next to her or across from her?))

He had a huge smile on his face. "Just thought you needed a laugh. So, how is the food?" Without waiting for her to comment, he dug into the huge mound of food in front of him, devouring the burrito in three bites....

((next to her! Happy? LoL!))

Becca smiled, "It's good." and stared at Brad devouring his food and wondering where he put all of that food. That guy must have like two stomachs. When he was finished she handed him a napkin. "So...."

message 124: by P.Q. (last edited Jun 04, 2010 01:48PM) (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments Brad didn't want the night to be over. "Would you like some dessert? They make a wonderful fried banana." His stomach growled at the prospect. "I think I'm going to have one."

message 125: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 7443 comments Mod
"Uh, no thank you, I'm full. But go ahead I'll watch. Gave me quite a show with your dinner. Can't wait to see what you do with your dessert!" Becca gave him a real smile and blushed.

message 126: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments His dirty guy mind couldn't help but think, 'I know what I'd like to "do" with my dessert and it involves you, me and some chocolate syrup.' He shook his head to clear his thoughts, then looked deep into her blue eyes, so open, so innocent. 'She would never go for that kind of humor. She'd probably throw her drink in my face, stalk off and never speak to me again.' He cracked a smile, realizing he kinda liked the fact that she wouldn't put up with any of his crap. "I bet you I can eat it in 30 seconds flat." Before Becca could respond, the slutty waitress came back to the table with a very large dish full of the sweet banana dessert. "Well sugar, looks like you've got quite the sweet tooth. When I told Cook it was for the local artist, he went a little crazy with the fried bananas." She took her finger and ran it around the rim of the bowl, then stuck her finger in her mouth in a very suggestive gesture...

Becca was furious with their waitress and she just couldn't take her anymore and said, "look here missy, this is my date and there is no way in hell he'd ever give you a chance. So take your sluty body away from our table before I go talk to your manager. Do you read me perfectly clear?" Becca was full of rage and her cheeks were flushed and then she realized what she had just done but kept her head held high.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments Brad's mouth fell open. He couldn't believe little Miss Prim and Proper had just told off the forward waitress. He applauded her spunk and looked at the speechless waitress. "Well, you heard her...." glancing at her name tag, the first time he actually looked at her chest, "Krissy, so I suggest you reign in the whole Lindsey Lohan routine and bring us the check.

message 130: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments He laughed, a good 100% belly laugh. When he finally regained his composure, he reached across and took her hand. "Oh, please don't apologize. THAT was priceless. If I'd been a betting man, I would've lost. You really are full of surprises." He smiled at her, the dimple showing attractively. "I told you something unique about myself, now it's your turn. What secrets do you hold, Becca? Do you have a black belt in Karate or work undercover for the FBI? Come on, spill it. I'm sure I'll be surprised, whatever it is." He waited for her response.

Becca averted her eyes to her hands, "It's LaHaye, I'm Becca LaHaye, and I don't think you want to learn everything about me." Becca viciously picked at the paper napkin in front of her.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments Brad noticed her nervous gesture and wondered what he'd said that had upset her so. "LaHaye," that's a very unusual name, not like mine, "Conner". It's such a common one...especially compared to yours." Reaching over, he laid his hand on top of hers, gently stopping her. "Why do you insist on being so....invisible? It's like you're trying so hard to blend into the walls." He squeezed her hand, "Look at me Becca LaHaye."

Becca tried her best to look away from him but she couldn't, he was so captivating with his eyes and then Becca replied,"It's better I blend in, trust me. If I just blend in then maybe bad things won't happen to me, maybe...never mind." She pulled her gaze away from him, she was on the verge of tears.

message 138: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments 'Okay, that's it', he thought. 'This has got to stop.' He got up from his seat. When she looked up, surprised to see him getting up, she thought he was going to walk out. Why wouldn't he? She was such a joy kill. But when he scooted in beside her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, tucking her into the crook of his arm, she was shocked. "It's alright. I won't let anything bad happen to you....ever!" He found that as he was saying the words; words meant only to comfort her, he actually meant them. It rocked him inside and he felt something open up in his heart. "Oh, and by the way, there's not a chance in Hell that you could EVER blend in. Have you looked in the mirror lately? You're gorgeous!" He lifted her chin so he could gaze into her luminous eyes. Before he knew it, his lips found hers. Moving over hers soft as the flutter of a butterfly's wings, he breathed in the air from her mouth. It was sweet and just a bit tangy from the mexican food.

She was shocked, the kiss was unbelieveable. She found herself kissing him back, trying to forget everything in her past and opening her heart to him. Tears rolled down her eyes as she broke away from the kiss. She leaned her head into his chest and sobbed, letting every pint up tear out. She couldn't believe she was crying in front of a guy, in a mexican resteraunt. When she noticed her composure she quickly wiped her eyes with her sleeves and replied, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that in front of you, I won't do it again. I'll cheer up." She plastered on a fake smile and breathed in more slowly.

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments Brad stroked her hair. "You don't need to put up a front with me. Just be you. After all, it's what attracted me to you in the first place." He saw how uncomfortable she was. "Hey, let's get out of here. What do you say?"

message 141: by Lacey (new)

Becca nodded her head, "Yeah. I really don't want to talk about anything in a mexcan resterant." She allowed him to wrap an arm around her shoulder as they walked back to his truck.

message 142: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments It had gotten dark outside. After he had gotten her situated, he climbed into the drivers' side, looked over at her with an unspoken question on his face. Feeling her demeanor warming, he leaned over, cupped her face in his hands and pressed his lips once more to hers. He wanted to stay like that forever, her warm, inviting lips accepting him without hesitation. It was as though there lips were created just for each other. He deepened the kiss, his desire growing with each hesitant swirl of her tongue. His breathing became ragged as his hand moved to the back of her neck, pulling her lips more firmly against his. She trembled under his touch. Fearing he had somehow scared her, he pulled away, looking at her eyes which were still closed, her mouth still pursed. "Becca," he breathed her name, barely making a sound...

Becca sighed after his touch. Her body responded to his touch so willingly. When he broke off she looked at him with suprise, why did he stop? She pulled him back to her and she kissed him deeply grabbing his hair roughly willing her body to respond. But then her memories came flooding back and she broke the kiss off suddenly. "sorry. I thought I was ready," Becca replied ashamed and stared into his forest green eyes.

Becca hesitated and replied, "I don't have a curfew, we can go." Becca saw the gleam in his eyes but ignored it. She waited nervously as they reached his "special place" Wherever that may be. When they arrived she was surprised to see that it indeed was an isolated place. Tree's were scattered everywhere and there was a pond in the near distance, she gasp in awe.

message 148: by P.Q. (new)

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments Brad pulled the truck onto the gravel pathway through the woods. They had gone about a mile or so off the main road when they broke through to a clearing. It was like traveling back in time, or to a magical place. The clearing was spotted with giant old oak trees, their gnarled limbs blanketed with moss. And right in the center was a crystal pond. The sky was so clear that the water reflected the moon and stars. It was disconcerting, as though the world had turned upside down. "Take a walk with me?" Brad asked as he held out his hand...

P.Q. Glisson | 489 comments The walked the perimeter of the pond, stopping periodically to point out a bird or a rippling in the water made by fish jumping for their supper. Though they didn't talk much, Brad felt completely at ease with Becca. He scooped up a small round rock and flung it across the water. Becca watched open mouthed as it skipped several times across the water. "Becca," he whispered. He felt like any loud noise and the spell would be broken. She murmured a response. "Uh, I know this is personal. If you tell me to mind my own damn business or shut down completely I'll understand, but I have to ask." Brad felt as though the air had been sucked out of his lungs. He took a deep cleansing breath, "Why do you act as if you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? What happened to you?"
