1. The heroine read books about seduction before her wedding night because she didn't know what to do. So on her wedding night she was aggresively trying to seduce the H but he rejected her. He thought she was vulgar and was disappointed. The h was hurt by the H's rejection.
2. the heroes had a fight. The h went to a party and met there a popular female writer that offered her a job as a typist. That female writer planned to move to an island and the h had to move with her and work and live with her. In the end the H came after the h and they sorted out their problems

reeder (reviews) | 103 comments This one requires a special skills set: Betty Neels knowledge.

I'm looking for a romance by Betty Neels in which the protagonists are in a marriage of convenience. Driving back to their home in Holland (from a party/a wedding/a day trip/a visit to characters in some other Neels novel??), the doctor-husband asks if it would be okay if they check in at a hospital where he works. He installs his wife in the consultants' room, where she's left cooling her heels for two hours because he basically forgets she's there.

I've checked the reviews at The Uncrushable Jersey Dress for the 50-odd Neels books I've read in the past two months, and I just can't find the one I'm looking for. #badatBetty

Lee at ReadWriteWish (leeatreadwritewish) | 33 comments I've read this Neels one. They all tend to be similar though so I tend to get them mixed up. Maybe Ordinary Girl?

It was not, but the review made it sound so delightful, I had to check it out immediately. (Which will only clutter my brain with more Betty, making it impossible for me to remember the one I've already forgotten. I am so weak.) Thanks for the help/inadvertent rec!

She always has the Dutch doctor and the quiet h, which is why they're difficult to work out. But I know I've read that one for sure. I'll have another look.

Nabila | 3 comments Hello! i need help finding two books that have been driving me crazy.

1. Years before the main plot H dumped h after she surprises him by jumping out of a cake for his birthday in front of some business partners and he decides that must leave h behind if wants to succeed in business. In the present tense of the book I believe h is the teacher of the son of a woman that H is dating.

2. I don’t have much details on this but H and h are about to get a divorce because (I believe) h left him. One specific fact I remember is that they have a dog named Gizmo and the h is reluctant to leave the dog behind. I also believe she has a miscarriage towards the end?

Thank you!

Possibly Christakis's Rebellious Wife by Lynne Graham (Divorce + dog named Gizmo, yes. Miscarriage? Not that I recall.)

#1 sounds fun. I hope someone can identify it.

That's it! And to make things crazier, Betty Neels actually does this twice, and I conflated the scenes. In The Convenient Wife, they stop by his hospital in Leiden on the way home from their wedding and she's left in the consultants' room drinking cup after cup of tea waiting for him. (It's not that he forgot her per se; he just didn't care she was waiting. And waiting.) In An Unlikely Romance, they stop by a hospital in England after their wedding (before catching the ferry to Holland), and she is left sitting in the car with nothing but a map to read while he loses track of time inside. (At least this rich Dutch doctor was actually sorry(ish) for his rudeness.)

Thanks so much for your help!

crazy1bad | 102 comments Pls help to find this romance. The H wants revenge on the h's fiance or her father. The h is engaged, it will be marriage of convenience so she decides to lose virginity before the wedding. The h has to attend a party, I think in a countryside mansion but before that she meets the H and has one night stand with him. The h doesn't know his identity. After the sex she needs to go to the mansion party but it's raining and the H drives her there or she drives in her own car and the H secretly follows her. So the H comes to the party uninvited and her father or fiance gets angry. I think the H reveales that he seduced h for vengeance but I am not sure about that. This book reminds me of Roccanti's Marriage Revenge but it's not the one.

Jennifer | 7 comments Please help me find this book. Help me please ladies! I have been searching for a harlequin presents book about a hero who is a boxer/ fighter who finds his wife/mistress and baby son in another country after she ran away from him. He is with a bunch of security and treatens to leave her there. I want to say she runs home to Russia or somewhere very cold.

I want to say he is a boxer or fighter and it was based in Las Vegas in the US but not sure about that. I know they have sex when its raining on a hot day outside. He is the ultimate bad boy and rides around on a motorcycle.
Hope I'm not crossing two books but I believe near the end the heroine gets kidnapped and she leaves her son on the sidewalk to protect him.

Was it a Betty Neels? Set in Holland? Heroine rescues a young boy from a canal in Ring in a Teacup. And I know she rescues a dog from a canal in another book, but I can't think of it. If Holland rings a bell, then I'll keep looking.

Chamen | 8 comments This was probably a Lynne Graham book. What I remember is that the H played nice guy so that the h would marry him. I believe they have a son, reason for their marriage. During dinner the H revealed to have bought a cheap ring since he believed the h was a gold digger. He eventually bought her expensive ones where h would forget to wear them I also remembered the H doing and buying everything to win the h, even bought two ugly fish he assumed the h liked.
Hope someone could help me.
Thank you.

Rebeccah | 3 comments Hi! I am trying to find a book I read in the summer of 2005 (August). I had a HP subscription at the time so it may have been a book I got in Aug but didnt come out until later. I have read thru the back covers (and more!) of books from about a year before and a year after, but can not find it :(...From what I recall, the H and h knew each other bc their grandmothers were friends, h is English and her mother dies, and the H (who is Italian) comes to the funeral. Father ignores the h and sends her off to boarding School with the H little sister, and h ends up spending most of her school holidays with the sister and the Hs family. Later h s father remarries and there is an awful step mother and step sisters. I also seem to recall that something happens to the Hs little sister, although what I cant be certain. AND that the H is possibly engaged to OW at somepoint early on in the story. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

C | 44 comments Hi, everyone! I need help finding a book.

I distinctly remember a scene where heavily pregnant h runs out after hearing something upsetting about how H views her. He searches for her but his brother is the one who finds her sitting on a bench in a park, barefoot in the cold and very distraught. It might've been set in New York. What I also remember is H's family is fairly antagonistic towards her, perhaps for something they thought she did to H. The brother carries her back home and this encounter changes his mind about her. I vaguely remember something about her losing her memory but I might be wrong though.

Any ideas?
