I am looking for a book that I read awhile ago probably the '90's...she married and seems to be having something of a midlife crisis. Gets in a small fender bender and makes a friend of a man that flirts a bit. Husband begins to take a little notice. I remember she ends up with her husband...but other then that nothing! This has been driving me crazy for years...any ideas?
[SOLVED - Desert King Pregnant Mistress Susan Stephens]Hi. I've read an excerpt recently. The excerpt was a scene of the heroine sitting on a beach where she see's the hero swimming I think. He (a Sheikh i'm pretty sure) see's her at his private beach and they end up chatting. She is there at this place to receive some sort of special work related award at a dinner. The Hero she doesnt realise is her boss or owner of the company she works for. I'd love to know the title. Thanks

I then searched under your Sheikh bookcase and I dont think it's one of those. If it's ok, I'll wait till you can have a look at home.
Vashti wrote: "This sounds like a book written by Kim Lawerance that I read"Hi Vashti. I was excited when I started looking into your suggestion because I know I read it around the time I was reading an excerpt for Zoe's Disgrace (Balfour Brides) and I see Kim has written for the same series. Unfortunately I dont think it's any of her Sheikh books. Gee maybe the hero wasnt a Sheikh. I'm sure he was tho but he was also the big boss of whoever the heroine worked for. Thank you for your suggestion.
I looked through my books and can't find it either. When I first started Goodreads I didn't sort my books as much or as well. I can't find the silly thing. I know I've read it. She works at a department store he owns and wins some sort of good employee contest and gets a trip to his exotic country. She's on his private beach when they meet and he is intrigued with her. I'll keep looking.
It sounds
very
familiar, but with the hero not a Sheikh. And yes, I think it was just out last year.
I think I read it b/c they really were offering a two-week vacation at a place I worked for the person who came up with the most cost-saving ideas.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! I have been looking for this for months and done so many google searches. Thank you thank you thank you :)

While everyone is paying attention to this thread...does anyone know the title of a book where the heroine marries her father's best friend after having known him all his life after his first wife dies or is divorced? I think they might have been under an umbrella on the cover. I asked before but couldn't find it. Please tell me someone remembers this. I think it's probably from the late 80s.

"OMG! I love you Melanie! Yes! Now I've got to replace my lost copy!
I thought it was an HP. No wonder I couldn't find it.
Glad I finally got one!! (I ordered a copy from pbs not that long ago, so it was still fresh in my mind.)
Speaking about Karen Keast. karen Keast is the pseudonym used by the GODDESS Sandra Canfield, who unfortunately already passed away. I highly recommend her novels, specialy "Night Into day" and "Cherish this Moment". But all her novels are great.
I read The loving - written under SC. Verra cweepy time travel but the ending kinda sucks. Abrupt HEA but a 2ndary character got stuck in the past, so it felt like a dangling thread. Nevertheless, the intertwined past & present made a compelling read. I can see why U put her on goddess pedestal, Carla. I'm gonna read SC's backlist.
I never read that one, Verity. I have to. But those two I mentioned are amazing, specially "Night Into Day". I heard that Sandra Canfield suffered from the same disease of the heroine. And the hero... I have no words to describe Patrick O'Casey... one of the best heroes I've ever known!
Aawww that's so sad, she must've written from her experience. Looks like I gotta intensify my book hunt. My local library rarely carries her books.

Hi, I'm desperately trying to find three books. I think they are old HP. The first one it's about a model, I think her name is Lacey but I could be wrong. She has a bad reputation and everybody thinks she's dating this blond guy. The hero is a guy with a ponytail (I think) who is sent by his cousin to seduce Lacey? because the cousin is the ex girlfriend of the blond guy. So ponytail guy seduces her but it turns out she was a virgin and the blond guy is really her brother and nobody knows because she is an illegitimate child and her father never recognized her. There is also an incident in her past where she acquired the bad reputation because a guy who was married to the hero's sister attacked her at a party and everybody though she has seduced the guy.
The second book's heroine's name is Silk, her mother is nicknamed Satin and the hero's name is Lyon or something. The book starts with the heroine going to a department store for a job that requires he to wear some kind of animal costume with a big head. There she gets pinched in the butt by this old man and when she complains the man's nephew (hero) gets involved. When she takes of the head of the costume the old guy almost has a heart attack because she looks just like her mom and he used to date her mom.
The third is about a heroine whose father wants her to get married so he keeps interviewing men that he likes for the position. He owns a restaurant chain so he promises this to the men so they will marry his daughter. The heroine does not want to get married so she drives the suitors away through various tactics. Then when her dad chooses the hero to be the next suitor she tries the straight forward way and goes to speak with him and tells him she has no intention of marrying him. The hero then falls in love with her and starts wooing her. He is very possessive and even gives her a gold bangle bracelet that when she puts it on cannot be taken off again so she threatens to have it cut, but she doesn't do it. She eventually falls in love with him and marries him and as a wedding presents he signs away any rights to the chain of restaurants.
Thanks for your help.
The first one sounds familiar (though my names are different) but the circumstances match almost perfectly, it's
. Hope that's the right one.
