Sorry, replied to the wrong message at first. If you are still looking for this one - it is 'His Wedding Ring of Revenge' by Julia James.
I'm looking for the title of a book I have read many, many years ago. She gets married and falls pregnant, but he does not want to have a child - they have a confrontation and she faints, is found by the butler? and then leaves. Can't remember whether she has the child, but the husband finds her some time later when she is sick. I remember him thinking that her hair colour, which he always admired, must have been fake as it does not look the same as when they were together, but this is only because she is sick. Any suggestions?

Could it be Uncertain Destiny by Carole Mortimer? The H is a lawyer and married the h. I don't remember her fainting but the H didn't want to have a child. He even had a vasectomy but she still got pregnant. It is an old HP, written probably in the mid-80s or so.Here's the synopsis:
"Can't you see how much loving someone hurts?"
Justin de Wolfe's words were prophetic for Caroline Maxwell. Drawn to Justin by a fierce mutual passion, the usually sensible Caroline married him knowing that he couldn't love her--just as she couldn't help loving him.
She accepted the hazards of marriage to the arrogant, magnetic lawyer. But Justin's reaction to Caroline's eager announcement of her pregnancy shocked her to the core.
So many things about Justin needed an explanation--his aversion to love, his sudden changes of mood and the woman from his past whose name he cried out in his sleep. Her, most of all....

I don't think the H in the book I'm looking for had a vasectomy; I seem to remember that his reason for not wanting children was to take 'revenge' on his father by denying his family any heirs.
[Solved: Lion of Venice]:I don't remember the name of the H/H but the heroine was a sister( or cousin) of a girl who was involved with a guy not in UK ( maybe Italian). When she sees the hero for the first time as he's there to talk about the involvement of the said sister/cousin with his brother/cousin, she's wearing a black T-shirt which says BITCH in capital letters and that is pretty offending to the hero's family and her own but the hero smiles when he sees her. Then she makes a condition. She'll let her sister get married to the said guy if the hero marries her and she makes a snide comment about his sexuality ( if I remember correctly). She totally doesn't mean it and she puts it out there because she's sure the hero's family is just making an empty gesture etc. The hero accepts this condition and the two get married after striking a deal. Then there's the scene where he asks her whether he's her bitch cuz she's phrased her initial proposal in those terms ( maybe he used the word gigolo?). Probably she initially resents him 'keeping' her chained to his side but eventually she falls in love and in the end when she's had a chance to runaway, he pretends to get hurt really bad to see whether she would come back to see if he's okay ( she does and he is) and then its HEA.

[Solved: Dark Side of Desire]:A heroine named Becky and a guy named Joe (I think, definitely some name starting with J). Her mom used to work for the hero's family and they were an 'item' when they were teenagers - he comes from a rich family and she was the housekeepers daughter....anyway - she gets pregnant and comes in desperation to the hero's house to give him the letter (or the news in person) - and turns out he's at college and his parents never give him the message...
Meanwhile - there's a woman (probably called Olivia) who has designs on our hero.... Anyway, its 8 years later and Beck's got a son but her mom's in the hospital and she comes across Joe...and he doesn't realize that they have a son together - not until he overhears a conversation between mom and daughter etc etc etc-
Oh and the heroine also had a clothes designing boutique called Salamander.....
Ring any bells?
I think this is Diana Hamilton's Song In A Strange Land, let me check. No, shoot. I've definitely read it recently -- I remember Salamander -- and it might have been Diana Hamilton, but it's not that one. I'll browse through books I've read and see if I can spot it.
You might also want to try looking through My Books to see if it rings any bells, I'm positive I've read this one in the last year. I'd say most likely in the last 6 months.

It's Michelle Reid's The Dark Side of Desire. I just read it and knew exactly what you were asking for.
Sapheron wrote: "oh, just saw you found it already. Whooptidoo. ;)"Thanks Sapheron!!!!!
There are still 2 - 3 other books that I can't remember the title to(They're marked with Unsolved in this thread...), maybe you could help me with those as well?
Thanks again!

Hi, my friend is trying to remember the name of this story. I´d appreciate a lot your help. The heroine has twin sons (I think they are 2 boys) and the hero (greek, and my friend thinks his name is Alex or something similar) IS NOT the father. But he proposes marriage to her, in order she can keep the children with her. She´s in danger of losing them in case she doesn´t prove the social worker that she can take good care of them.
Does anyone remember the name of this story?
Thanks
I have an idea I read this and it was an HP by Jane Porter... not positive though. No, the only thing Porter did with twins Marco's Pride and that was twin girls and he was the father.
She's sure he's not the father? Cause this sounds possible: http://www.amazon.com/Reluctant-Mistr...

Hi!! Thank you for trying to help me.
I also thought about that one by Lynne Graham, but my friend told me it´s not the one.
She is pretty sure he´s greek and is not the father.
Thanks
The one I thought was Jane Porter, I think he was greek and the father's brother. And he kind of imprisoned her in Greece.
willaful wrote: "The one I thought was Jane Porter, I think he was greek and the father's brother. And he kind of imprisoned her in Greece."Hi. Do you remember the name of that book?
do you remember the occupation of the hero/heroine - place of setting etc? maybe vintageromances.com might have the answer?
For a couple of days i've been looking for a HP book, but it could also have been from Mills and Boon Modern. It's not an older version. The hero is probably Greek, Spanish...Billionaire and is working from his office in UK I think (he's not english). All I remember is, that the hero and heroine are married (I'm almost positive they are married, I don't think she was only his mistress), but then something happened and I don't know what. Now, a year or two or three went by and they live apart, but are not divorced.
The heroine is struggling to financially survive, I don't know where she's working, but I think it's not something fancy. She needs money, because of her little son (his son, about whom the hero of course doesn't now anything, who is sick and needs some kind of medical treatment I think. She then goes to her husband to seek divorce in hope of getting a small settlement, so she could pay for medical bills for her son. She goes to his office in UK and from then on I'm not so shure what went on....
So, does this ring a bell?
The trouble is Wheyo, that accurately describes many a HP plot - and because that theme isn't my favorite, I can't even remember the name of one. What I'm saying is, I think you'll need to give us something more... something unique to the story.
Every other story in HP is like that - and people are still reading the same plot over and over - what does that say about us? hmmmmmmmmSorry, it was unrelated to the topic but still.......makes you wonder....
They didn't always used to be like that, sigh. I have lost interest in the more recent ones because they all seem the same and mostly read older ones.
There were a couple of books in the olden days that dealt with issues of older-women and younger men, disabled heroines, love between friends etc etc - now its just 'let's put in sex scenes' - who cares about caring and emotions....I remember reading one M&B (one of my first ones, actually) where the heroine and hero just kissed once during the whole story - that's it....once and there was this situation where the heroine get's lost and he comes looking for her and he still doesn't 'do it' with her cuz she's a shy lil thing.....sigh....those were the days!

Eeejay, it's amazing how well the older books built up the chemistry where you didn't miss the love scenes.
I am not sure if this bit of a story that I remember from a book is a HP or not. Heroine and Hero are married and they lose the baby (son???). Her husband does not want to talk to her so his family sends her belongings back to her maybe at her father's house without the hero's knowledge of their callousness to her. She is person non gratia at the child's funeral and had to sneak in to go see it. She was afraid that if the relatives found her in the church that they would force her out. The child was buried on the father's island where she cannot visit the child's grave. Later they get back together and he takes her to the island where she is finally able to good to the child's grave. I think that she was able to use a golf cart to go there and the hero followed her there. It made him sad to see her pain over all the crap she went thru.
Sorry that is all I can remember about it but it is bugging me and I have to read it again.

It might be SICILIAN HUSBAND, UNEXPECTED BABY by Sharon Kendrick. I had to find it thru a major search in my ebook library as I could remember reading it. What luck...Rachel

It can't be The Markonos' Bride. Its still a very good book and I highly recommend it but from R's synopsis, I don't think it is because she was able to visit her deceased son's grave yearly with the family's consent even though her husband did not know. She couldn't stay in the family compound but she could stay at the local hotel. His parents thought she was too young for him and didn't like her because she wasn't Greek. When their young son died, she went to pieces and the husband left her to grieve on his own. By the time he returned, her family had come to bundled off back to England. She returned a month later and found him in bed with another woman and she left him for good. (beginning of the story so no big spoilers)

Yes, that's the one. I don't know how I came up with a sick baby (I probably dreamed about that kind of scenario :)). No wonder I didn't find it, because all this time I was searching for a sick baby.
Funny thing is, I don't even know why I liked it at first. Because this hero Vincenzo is a top of the class bastard and heroine Emma is such a weak woman. All the time I was reading this book, I wanted her to smack Vincenzo in the face, but then of course she didn't because she always just melted in his arms...blah
