QueenT | 50 comments hello everyone. I need help finding a Harlequin I read years ago, of which I remember very little unfortunately.
It's probably part of a series with the family gathered for some kind of family reunion. Two of the series MCs were present, and in one scene, an incident happens (could have been on a treasure hunt or in a big garden?) where one of the heroines (not of the current book) is unwell and her pregnancy is out in the public. The OM steps up to save the day and announces he is the father but the H is all "like hell you are" and claims paternity to everyone's shock. That's all I remember, its not much, I know but maybe someone will recognize it. Thanks.

Could it be Stolen in Her Wedding Gown by Amanda Cinelli?

message 6506: by QueenT (new)

QueenT | 50 comments @se Mcgregor it's probably from the late 90 or 2000s because I read it at least 15 years ago.

Sophia Hardy-Weinberg | 13 comments I've been searching for a book (probably a Harlequin Presents/ Mills&Boon Modern) originally published between the years 2000s and 2016, in which the heroine is the Hero's mistress for a while and then accidentally gets pregnant.

The zillionaire Hero (I guess he's Italian or Greek, or even French) proposes but she doesn't accept it right away. However, they start to live and travel together and she moves to his mansion/ palace (I can't remember if it's in Paris or Milan).

They start to get ready for their baby's impending arrival, but heroine goes into premature labour (or suffers a miscarriage, I'm not sure) and their baby girl doesn't resist and dies. Both are devasted, but the heroine thinks the hero doesn't care and ends their relationship. I remember a scene where she or he returns home and starts packing all the baby stuff and it's heartbreaking.

I think she's a model or an intrior design, but I'm not sure.

If I'm not mistaken, it's part of a duology. The other book is about the Hero's rival (or half brother, I'm not sure) and the Hero's PA/secretary romance.

That's all I remember. Sorry for being so vague. Anyway, does this sound familiar to anyone?

Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Too recent, I'm afraid. It's either from the 00s or 10s.

The Sicilian's Unexpected Duty it was a one night stand, I think. I don't recall her profession. In book one h is artist, in book three, h is a doctor - series is The Irresistible Sicilians

There is another book with a traumatic miscarriage, very dark book - similar story where h is a model. Spanish Aristocrat, Forced Bride

Noël Cades (noelcades) | 1 comments Hello, someone in a FB book group I'm in is looking for a book with a female heroine called Forde. They could remember:

* the book was read late 1970s/early 1980s in QLD, Australia (it's not necessarily an Australian title though)
* the book was about a big business man who died and his only child was a daughter named Forde. She ran his business and some people she dealt with didn’t realise she was female
* one hard to handle associate or client gave her a hard time until they met and fell in love

If anyone can help that would be amazing! Thanks.

Poorvi | 302 comments Hi all, this is super vague but I'm hoping it rings a bell for someone.
The hero is very rich and famous and he and the heroine need to go attend a big party/public event. The heroine says she doesn't want to go, but the hero thinks she's probably playing coy because he assumes that she (like all women he's previously known) would love the chance to get dressed up in fancy clothes jewellery and make up and basically be the center of attention. Except the heroine is a massive introvert/socially awkward and really really doesn't want to go.

C | 44 comments Hi, y'all. Just finished reading an HP with an archeologist heroine that reminded me of another one I'd read years ago but can't remember the title of. Hoping someone can help.

The heroine is an archeologist who specialises in underwater wrecks. I can't remember the exact premise of how she meets the hero, but they end up marrying somewhere in the middle of the story. There's a really memorable scene near the end after they've separated. She's on an expedition with her colleagues somewhere off the coast of South America. The conditions are rough and there's pouring rain (if I'm not mistaken a typhoon was heading their way). Out of nowhere a squad of armed men arrive to seize the ship. Her husband called in a favour to the navy to get him aboard and take her home. Fingers crossed someone knows this story. 🤞🏻

Se Mcgregor | 550 comments I am searching for a book. Heroine sees hero standing outside a building, thinks he is hot and snaps his picture. He catches her and ends up taking her for coffee. They spend the day visiting tourist attractions (one being whispering gallery at St Pauls ) and then spend night together. h of course ends up pregnant. I think H has baggage, maybe previous partner/child died or something?

Shavar | 43 comments Thix maybe of 80's or 90's .... h is in love with H's brother and is dating him. H has been in love with h for a long time. He blackmails her into marrying him. Few scenes i remember:

- h comes from abroad and is expecting OM at the airport. She spots him and runs towards him. He is tying his shoe laces. He looks up and she realises it is the H. H kisses h.
- H runs the family business. H knows that h's father has lost money and H can compensate him - OM doesnt have enuf.
- in the end, h falls for her husband. She wants to celebrate the marriage and goes out to buy chmpagne. H calls her at home and when h doesnt answer, he thinks she is secretly meeting OM. He comes home late. h is upset. H says that his car broke down and he walked home. h wants to end marriage. H says he will go down om his knees if she wants but begs the h not to leave him

Can anyone remember?

message 6523: by QueenT (new)

QueenT | 50 comments hi all,
Anyone can tell which Harlequin this is? I think its at least from the late 2000s. The main couple are separated or divorced, and not on good terms. Then suddenly, the h goes back to the H's house (vaguely remember it was in Greece but not sure although it was certainly in a different country). She's seeking him out with the intention of leaving their small child with him (maybe it was twin daughters?). She is dying and thinks giving up custody is the best route, except she does not tell the H abt her illness. The H might have been seeing another woman and the h using an OM as a cover story. Obviously the book has a HEA with the h surviving.

Ring any bells please? Thanks as always.

Again coukd be 70's or 80's.

h is on rebound. H had pproposed her once in the past nd she had rejected him. Now she is hurt by OM and on rebound goes back to H. She pretends to be in love and even marries the H. A few days into their honeymoon, H comes to know about h's past and is angry. He is cruel to her and is angry. I remember the setting to be some tropical place like bali or fiji and OW is of indian origin named Sheila or shilpa. The OW also wears a sareee in one scene.
Can anyone remember?

C | 44 comments Looking for an HP where the hero is a Sheikh or Prince who lures the heroine into the desert under false pretenses (essentially kidnapping her) because he thinks she's having an affair with his brother-in-law (who's also a Sheikh). It later turns out she's his brother-in-law's secret half sister she's only recently been reunited with. If I remember correctly, she was brought along as their babysitter to keep her identity secret. I'm not 100% sure on these details but the broad strokes are there and I hope someone can help me.

ANA | 64 comments Can anybody remember an old time HP where h mom is unusually beautiful in an ethereal kind of way. Also, because of some emotional past trauma, she is really ditzy, and just out of it all the time. The H can’t stop looking at mom because he realizes h is the spitting image of her, and that is how she was going to look like when she was older. The only other detail I can remember is that H is staring at her as she’s going up the stairs. However, it is not in a sexual way. The mom is just very captivating.

message 6538: by Poorvi (new)

Poorvi | 302 comments Does anyone know this book:
The hero and heroine are (semi?) happily married. The hero starts acting distant/grumpy/unhappy. The heroine realises she's pregnant, and when she tells the hero he says he already knew. Several people he knew mentioned the likelihood to him, but when she never said a word he interpreted that wrongly and got upset.

In general if anyone could suggest books with this theme where the heroine tells the hero she's pregnant and he tells her he already knows, that would be great.

message 6539: by ANA (new)

ANA | 64 comments Lost in love by Michelle Reid has the theme about a pregnancy H already knew about before h tells him. However, it has a twist because it is not revealed until the very end.

C | 44 comments Gosh, my memory is like a sieve. 😭 I literally read this a few weeks ago but can't remember the title or author. Looking for an HP with the following:
- Heroine is a widow who lost her husband and son in a car crash.
- She teaches art to schoolkids in Sicily. One of her students is the son of the Hero who she's been having a physical relationship with. The Hero is a single dad (I can't remember what happened to the kid's mother).
- In the Heroine's off time, she sculpts and one of her patrons turns out to be the Hero's mom. Her sculptures are evocative and reference her tragic losses as well as her tentative hopes. One of her pieces was gifted to the Hero by his mom and displayed prominently in his house even though he didn't know the Heroine was its sculptor.
- The Hero's mom figures out the Heroine is pregnant when she sneaks into her studio to have a peek at her latest work. But she doesn't realise her son's the father. Out of guilt she tells him what she found and that's how he finds out our Heroin is having his baby.

QueenT | 50 comments hello,
Im looking for a book from the 80s-2000s period where the h and H are happily married, heroine gives birth to a girl then suddenly leaves because she thinks she is a threat to the baby. Not 100% sure but it might have been because of her parents. One of them was violent/ had a mental illness and she thinks she carries the bad gene. I think she felt that way when one day she got impatient over the baby crying and wished to shut her up. so she freaked out and decided to leave rather than risk hurting her baby. H does not find out her motives until the end and blames her for leaving when they meet again some time later. Separation lasted a few years but cant tell if it was 3 or 10 (hope it's the former)
Anyway, any ideas? thanks.
