Do you remember if set in USA or UK? I have another in mind.

Poorvi | 302 comments @Se I think they both start in Greece or Italy or some other European country. (I'm leaning towards Greece). And then they move to the US.

Could #1 be The Heiress Bride by Lynne Graham? She marries him to escape her father but runs away on their wedding night. I think he catches her at the airport.

ACM | 2 comments Hi. I’m trying to find a book

where the couple were together but now split. She was poorer and less educated than him. His friends mock her a lot. He finds certificates of courses she took to better herself like wine tasting and history and he is ashamed. Think he was Greek or Italian and she had a hippy like name like sky or jewel. Thanks

The Lonely Season

message 6212: by Marina (new)

Marina | 49 comments Hi,

I am looking for a book in which the H has a twin brother. They come from a rich but dysfunctional family. I think bc his sister got kidnapped when she was a child, he never wants to have children. He meets the heroine in a club, they have a one-night-stand right then and there. She gets pregnant, etc.

Thanks!

His Mistress with Two Secrets
Books 1 and 4 are the sisters and 2 and 3 are the brothers

#2 might be. His Ring Is Not Enough

message 6215: by Poorvi (new)

Poorvi | 302 comments @RomLibrary
No that's not it. They didn't know each other before. The heroine's father was the one who went to the hero with a marriage proposal for his daughter. The heroine also has a brother but both siblings are shallow and spoilt. The father didn't spoil the her as much because she isn't stereotypically good looking and therefore useless in his opinion. On their wedding day when the hero brings up feeling cheated the heroine tells him she married him fully intending to be a good wife to him.

Poorvi | 302 comments Hi all, asking for a friend.
The heroine's father embezzles money from his boss the hero and gets caught. The hero thinks the father stole the money to fund the heroine's extravagant spending. So when the heroine goes to the hero to plead on her father's behalf, he tells her since the money was stolen for her, she should be the one to pay it off and she can do so by becoming his mistress. She agrees. Later he finds out that the father stole the money to finance a major surgery for the heroine.

My friend originally saw it in manga format so she's not sure, but thinks it's an older book.

chinni (booklilly) | 48 comments Hi. I am searching for a book that has the following opening lines.

It was very hard for sam to keep from screaming at the unfairness of this all.

She had been working at the newspaper for years. She wasn't always the best writer, and she certainly could have been more social with the rest of the office staff, but she was good at her job, and she had become invaluable to the editor. Derek had always valued her opinion for what it was, and he trusted her more than anyone else at the paper.

But that was before christine.

message 6228: by Alyx (new)

Alyx | 6 comments Hi, all! I'm looking for an older HP. The h might have been a model (?) and estranged from the H, her husband. Anyway, she has custody of her sister who behaves horribly bc she misses living in wealth. So she gets into money trouble, making the h have to go back to the H. Who I think maybe blackmails the h to be either his wife again or a mistress. I don't remember any more details but the h's sister basically gets her rich life back, throwing the h under the bus and pimping the h to the H. Please help if this rings a bell. Thanks!

Anushka SahaRoy | 4 comments hi I've the book summary There are men who possess everything. Everything: except love!

Rosy | 21 comments Hi, this what I remember of this book In the story the protagonist is a single mother with a daughter sometimes works for a detective I think, and "seduces" men to find out if these are unfaithful, since the wives themselves paid the detective for this. one night she goes to the bar for a job but the man has a twin and seduces the wrong brother, she was going to leave with him but in the end she repents and goes alone. They hire her at a graphic design company and she meets the man at the bar, thinking he was married and there she realizes he’s somebody else and he wants to go out with her but she resists.

It sounds like Linda Howard's Sarah's Child (Spencer-Nyle Co, #1) by Linda Howard though Sarah's Child isn't a Harlequin Presents book so it may not be the book you are looking for.

I'm pretty sure I've read it and think it might be Desire line. h was doing friend a favour with the seduction routine (it was really just chatting up in bar to determine intent), she hadn't done that "job" for a few years. If it is a Desire, likely between 2012-2016 - I only read a couple of Desire authors these days.

Cynthia (addictedtonovel) | 6 comments Hi all, please help me find this book I have been looking for ages.

This is what I remember from the book.
The Hero married the heroine as part of a deal with the father,
H was shamed by the daughter of his boss when he was younger.
h likes to read but the father didn't send her school and h mother is afraid of the h father.
After marrying they went to live in H house who has an all boy orphanage he sponsor's, one day he bought children clothes for them and h sees the receipt and had him followed to the orphanage he got angry and had to introduce her to them.
One of the boys is twins and reunited with his twin sister and was adopted by the couple that adopted the sister first.
