Help! I can't remember the name of this book...
The book was from the 80s. Here's what I remember: The heroin (h) was an ex-naval officer. In the private sector, she's the head of security and personal bodyguard to the Hero (H). H has a high-profile business and owns a ranch.
H has a business trip and picks up h at her home. When he gets there the door is opened by a half-naked man, who is the brother to h. Not knowing it's her brother H is jealous and angry.
They have to make their way to a meeting at his ranch where the physical side of their relationship begins. H is the love-them-and-leave-them type of guy but finds himself falling for the h. I distinctly remember a scene where he discovers her love of lingerie. The set H is enamored with is turquoise.
They have an argument and during that time h discovers she's pregnant. She is shot trying to protect him and in the hospital, H discovers she's pregnant. Her Admiral father shows up and H defends her and announces they're getting married.

Jenny, are you sure this is a Harlequin Presents? The plot and location - a ranch doesn't sound like something written in the Harlequin Presents line. Could it have been published in one of Harlequin's other lines?

Since this is the Harlequin Presents Readers Group you may have better luck finding the book on one of other boards if it isn't an HP.

Hi all! Not sure how old this one is unfortunately... The main thing I remember is that the heroine had a career in the fashion industry -- not as a designer, more something to do with textiles and fabrics. The hero somehow managed to finagle her into working with him in a Mediterranean country. I think he was some kind of aristocrat, but owned a textile company of some sort that was very renowned. Once she was there, he tried to seduce her and a family or staff member came into the room, so they had to get married. I think there was something involving the hero wanting revenge/thinking the heroine had had an affair with his brother or something, i.e. they had met before she was forced to work for him or he at least thought he knew who she was.
Hi all. I am looking for a harlequin romance I read sometime back. Hand h get married. Some sort of marriage of convenience though can’t remember the reason for this marriage. They start getting along better but at some party heroine meets H’s ex who maliciously informs the heroine that the diamond necklace she is wearing is a gift from the H and he spent a night with her just one week before the wedding ......

However, this scenario also sounds like two separate Jacqueline Baird books stitched together, except in each the heroine discovers the truth by eavesdropping, not being directly confronted by the mistress:
In Aristides' Convenient Wife, no one realizes the MoCly-married heroine speaks French when the former mistress natters to the hero about their encounter a week before his wedding, plus the apartment he deeded to her.
In The Greek Tycoon's Love-Child, the mystery-writer heroine (married because said tycoon had discovered she had his baby 8 years earlier) overhears the former mistress gossiping to another guest at a party about the diamond necklace he had given her after his honeymoon. (view spoiler)
Looking for romance where the heroine begs to go with him to his sister's party. She sees the sister in a romantic clinch with someone that is not her husband and pulls a switcheroo where sis says the little h was kissing someone. The tycoon kicks the h out and, shock, she's pregnant.
The H eventually figures it out, and is shocked his bratty little sister could be so horrible.
I thought it was a Lynne Graham and Sicilian in the title, but I can't find it.
Help!

Hello, I'm trying to remember a book where h and H were married and had a child. But something happened and H took his son home and cut off contact with h. At the beginning of the book, h is desperately traveling around the world trying to reach H and find his son. Then, when she gets home, she receives a phone call or letter to join H at his house.Does anyone know this book? Thanks

The Hero finds out the heroine has a son after they've gotten married, and initially he doesn't believe the child is his (he has amnesia and doesn't remember them sleeping together). Eventually when he does, the heroine asks for a divorce. So he takes the son and flies off to Paris and the heroine follows after some panicking. But this all happens in the middle of the book.

I have already read that one.
But the one I am talking about is diferent. They are already apart when starts.
Sandra wrote: "Hello, I'm trying to remember a book where h of the book, h is desper..."Maybe A Dark Sicilian Secret? I got a bit confused with your H and h. In this book, the heroine runs away when pregnant because she was in witness protection due to her fathers mafia connections. She thought the Hero was also in Mafia. He chases her and his son around the world before catching up with them in USA (this is where the book starts). His minders take her son while she is out and he blackmails her into going back to Sicily with them.

Hi all, I'm looking for a book, one of a set of two. The heroine is one of a pair of identical twins except neither knows about this. I only read one of the two, and in that one the heroine is somewhat well-known and from a respectable background and about to be married to the hero when some scandalous photos of the twin end up being published in the newspapers. Because the twin sister is not so well known, everyone assumes it's the heroine and her reputation is ruined and the hero breaks the engagement because he thinks she's a tart and probably cheated on him. The twin has her own book but I haven't read that one.

Sadly that's not it. Funnily enough I have read the second one of these two.
Anyway, in the book I'm looking for, the events I described occur before the book begins, the story starts with hero coming back to visit the heroine some time, well after everything happened, and she's been dealing with the aftermath.
The photographs of the twin were actually quite scandalous and I remember thinking that in this one the heroine was innocent, but in the twin's story she will actually have been the woman featured in the photographs, so I was quite interested in that.
Some plot points that I think were there but I'm not completely sure about-
1. The heroine was living in Australia when the book began
2. The heroine had recently opened her own store selling either lingerie or baby wear (more likely baby wear)
3. Heroine miscarried the hero's baby in the aftermath

Possibly Her Wedding Night Surrender by Clare Connelly
Looking for an HP, possibly part of a duo or series, where toward the beginning of the book, the bride is changing in a remote room or bathroom and overhears a conversation where the groom says he doesn’t actually love her. The male friend says something about the cousin being more his style? The groom wanted something from the bride (a piece of property?), which is why he married her. I believe she runs away and he pursues her. I really appreciate the help! Thank you.
