Hello... the book is a about a cop/detective who goes to his grandparents' ranch/farm after being forced to take a holiday leave. There he meets a strong-willed woman who works for his grandparents. The woman takes care of her little nephew and is afraid of cops. I suspect the book is from the harlequin series but I am not too sure. The female heroine has poor culinary skills and is quite physically strong. The hero is suspicious about the woman's history and falls for her. I am not sure but it must be the mills& boons type books. The woman is a bit tough. The cop is really protective over his grand parents. I read this around 8 years ago. The book cover has a woman wearing a hat standing next to a rail or horse. Please do help. Thank you.

Jitha wrote: "I want to find the name of the book by Diana palmer...I remember the characters name is apollo and joyce....theme is boss and secretary"They don't have a book of their one. Those characters are included in Enamoured.

Come to think of it, it might not even have been a Harlequin. I've been so disenchanted by the crop of Presents books in recent years.

Hi ,everyone I'm searching for a harlequin book or maybe mills & boon.. The heroine was needing money.I think because of her mother or brother was ill. And she went to the hero, Ican't remember why the hero, and he raped her and didn't give her the money,I'm not sure but I think the one she needed the money for died, years passed, and she met the hero again, and she was hating him but he don't know why, and I think he forced her to marry him, at the end, the truth is that the person who raped her was the evil brother of the hero and he used his hero's name. Also I think when hero found the truth he wanted to divorce her because he is thinking every time she will see him she will remember his brother and she will suffer but she will stay
Poorvi wrote: "@Mayar.. Could it be Amanda Browning's A Price to Repay?"This sounds really good but I can't find "A Price To Repay" by Amanda Browning to read. Is it possibly "A Promise To Repay" by Amanda Browning?
A second-chance romance for an estranged or divorced couple. They were young and trying to establish their careers as actors in New York (maybe writer or director for him), but were struggling with money so she took commercial work which he was quite sneery about. She may have believed he had an affair with an actress in his theater group. I think they come together on a project in the southwest (regional theater or is he less snobby about film now?), but I could be mashing this up with another estranged actor couple romance.Probably not an HP, but definitely a category romance.
This might be vague but I'm looking for a book where the heroine is someone famous (actress, model, something...) and she's in a highly publicized on again, off again relationship with another man. The relationship is only for the media though, in reality the two are related (uncle, cousin, step-brother, something) and are faking a romance to keep their actual relationship a secret. The relative has a girlfriend who hates the heroine and refuses to believe that the PR relationship is a fake romance and is jealous and wants the boyfriend to leave the heroine completely, which the boyfriend, is unwilling to do. So the hero who is related to the girlfriend, and sees the heroine as some sort of relationship breaker, sort of kidnaps and holds the heroine at an isolated location, to prevent her from interfering with a potential reconciliation between the other two.

Hi. I'm after the title of a Harlequin Presents book. It could be quite recent. Heroine's father is a horrible abusive man and her mother is weak and may be in poor health. Hero is now very rich and wants revenge against heroine's father (I think the father almost ruined the hero financially in earlier years) and so the hero agrees to marry heroine while undermining heroine's father's finances and getting heroine's father to put lots of money into an expensive big wedding. Hero never turns up to the big wedding and the heroine's father is ruined. The heroine and her mother go off to live on their own with hardly any resources. Hero finally realises he loves the heroine and goes after her a few weeks later.I'd really like to read the book again but I can't remember the title. Can anyone help please?
Solved. I kept going through the titles on my kindle and I found the book. "Katrakis’s Last Mistress" by Caitlin Crews. However, hero revenge was versus heroine's brother (rather than father) and revenge was for family (rather than financial) reasons.

@reeder it's not Morning After unfortunately. Although I might have confused some plot details, I'll have to think on it.
I'm also looking for this one other book, and I literally just remember two scenes from it. It starts with the heroine being jilted at the altar by her fiance. He just does not show up at the church. It's a very embarrassing and traumatizing event for the heroine. The hero is someone the heroine already knows, he's either a good personal friend or a family friend. The heroine's family is mostly supportive (I say mostly because I don't remember if there were any jerks). In the end there's a scene where the hero and heroine are to be married in the same church and the hero is a little late reaching the venue. Still in time, just slightly later than expected. So defying tradition, he goes to the bride's room to personally reassure her he's arrived because he knows something like this would bring up bad memories for her. This along with the other one I'm looking for, were my first ever HPs.. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me find them.
Poorvi wrote: "@reeder it's not Morning After unfortunately. Although I might have confused some plot details, I'll have to think on it."I also thought that the book you are looking for was The Morning After. It fits everything you said. Another book where the H thinks the h's half-brother is her lover is Savage Interlude by Carole Mortimer.
Poorvi wrote: "I'm also looking for this one other book, and I literally just remember two scenes from it. It starts with the heroine being jilted at the altar by her fiance. He just does not show up at the churc..."I don't recall the name but I think that is a Helen Brooks book.
So I went back and re-read Morning After, and I definitely got some plot points confused with it, but I know it's not the right one. The only 2 plot points I'm dead certain about now are that 1. The heroine is in a fake romantic relationship, and 2. the hero spirits her away to an isolated location to get her away from the other guy. The rest may or may not apply. It's not Savage Interlude either. Any other suggestions will be much appreciated.@Se, thanks for the suggestion, I'll check her books out.

Rony wrote: "can anyone please help me find a book that all i can remember about it is she married him and agreed to give him a baby and don't leave the house and then her sister was in hospital and she confess..."Parts of this sound a bit like The Price of a Bride by Michelle Reid. In this one, the little sister is actually the h's daughter.

(Solved) Hi, I'm looking for an HP where the h is pregnant with her dead finance's/boyfriend's baby and she approaches his rich brother for help. I don't remember the names of the character or anything, but I guess there was a scene where she approaches him in his mansion and her dead boyfriend/s brother is there with he is mother/stepmother and he calls the h a gold digger and maybe she has a fainting episode. And the H decides to help her. Lol the details are very vague but hopefully someone has read this boook.
I'm looking for a romance I probably read in the 90's. Most likely a HP but not sure. What I remember is the h and H get married. I think it was a marriage of convenience as h was told she could keep anything she acquired during the marriage when it ended. Well she ends up pregnant and leaves the H. I can't remember if the H knew she was pregnant but he ends up searching and finding her in a shabby apartment with the baby. She is afraid he is there to take the baby and tells him he said "she could keep anything she got during the marriage" and she just wants the baby. The h is quite emotionally and physically frail when he finds her. I think she was a piano player/singer in a night club when they met but I could be getting my stories mixed up. Thank you in advance.

I hope someone remembers this book. It is either HP or a silhouette title :(“I'm also looking for a book where the hero and heroine are married but having problems. Once night after an argument, the hero rapes her. She leaves and spends some time riding the tube at night. I think she left him and they were separated for a few years. She had a miscarriage while they were apart and didn't tell him about it. When they meet again, they are in the jungle. She gets sick with a fever and tells him about the miscarriage while she's delirious.”

Anyone know any HPs where the hero is jilted at the alter (not by a previous fiancé), but by the heroine. Poorvi - you got me thinking with your mention of jilted brides and I wondered about jilted grooms! I already found Maisey Yates - A Christmas Vow of Seduction. Any others?
