Help! I can't remember the name of this book...

This is a guess, may send everyone off on a wild goose chase. The one I'm thinking of was not a short read but part of a series, the name "The Barons " comes to mind. The series came out late 90's early 2000. Sandra Marton?

H and h are former lovers who are reunited a few years later. I think they broke up due to a misunderstanding, so their relationship is fairly hostile and angsty.
The h is raising a baby that belongs to another family member. The family member was unable to cope with raising a child, so she left the baby with the h. The H visits the h’s house and thinks that the baby belongs to the h. This is the major misunderstanding for most of the book and it’s not resolved until the final few chapters.
I think the h sends a letter to the baby’s real parents so that they’ll come forward and claim their child, but it takes them weeks to respond. In the meantime the H is extremely angry and jealous that the h supposedly had a child with another man. The h is furious that he won’t believe her and there’s plenty of angsty bickering between them.
The misunderstanding is finally resolved when the bio parents arrive to collect the baby. H sees a copy of the baby’s birth certificate and realizes that the h was not the mother.
Other details:
- H wasn’t a billionaire tycoon type, although he was likely rich.
- Book wasn’t Deceit of a Pagan by Carole Mortimer.

I remember this book by the blurb because I remember thinking it sounded original but I know I haven't read it. I will be on the lookout for you for this title. Have you asked Boogenhagen?

Bump (probably the only one) #2 and #3 unsolved. Feel bad, so much more details in other requests! Originally posted May 12th.
I love this site. I've real like 10 more books because of the random weird plots. :)

Nicole, I know how you feel. You look and look and can't find the name of the book and then suddenly.... there it is!
Glad I could help.

Thanks RomLibrary! I've been searching through my epub library trying to find it. The only other detail I can vaguely remember is that it seemed like an “old-school” romance in the style of Carole Mortimer or Sally Wentworth.

BTW-in the book I am thinking of, the baby belongs to her brother.

I was reading Kim Lawrence's, A Secret Until Now. And in the book there was mention of Caesar the heroine's brother as well as the hero's sister Lizzie. Is there a sequel to this book with heroine's brother or the hero's sister. If so, please point it out to me. Thanks in advance!!

Thanks

I believe the hero is royalty and he believes that he is unable to have children.
The heroin was born with an illness that affects her spine (I don't remember the name) and she grows up wearing a back brace. She feels different from the other kids. Her parents don't let her play soccer, etc. So when the brace comes off she leave and starts a new life for herself. She does not want to have children because she does not want to pass on her illness to her child. The illness is technically not hereditary, but her mom had it too.
Hero and heroine are having a secret affair with the assumption that neither of them wants children. When she becomes pregnant, she is really scared and he is really happy. He wants them to marry, saying that he will love the baby. She does not agree until he finally tells her that he loves her too.
thanks for the help :)

His Royal Love-Child by Lucy Monroe

I'm not sure but possibly, The Winter Heart, Lillian Cheatham

good day.

1) There is a scene towards the end when the H didn't allow the h to leave the island with him. So she walked out the house and go to the mountain. The H came looking for her with his helicopter and found her near Cliff.
2 h had a painting of herself somewhat naked and she was looked down by H family and friends. Towards the end H had himself painted the same way and put it up in his mansion for all to see to prove his love for h.
Thank you so muchhhh for the help!!

1) The Purchased Wife by Michelle Reid. One of my all time favorites!
2) I haven't read this so not sure but maybe Had We Never Loved
by Jeneth Murrey

Do you know when this was written? It sounds familiar but I have read several like this so any other info would help possibly narrow it down.

@RomLibrary book 1 is The purchased wife indeed! Thank youu! I love it too! 2 is also MR's Bellini Bride! Thank you both!!! I cqn now rest in peace :)

Unforunately i don't remember the date, i feel like it's an old school harlequin but not sure

Sounds a little like The Honey Is Bitter By Violet Winspear but not an exact match. I have around 300 books in my Greek Hero shelf if you want to take a look to see if anything looks like a match.

I remember a scene where the heroine visits another man in his cottage and it's raining so she changes her clothes, but the the female ow comes to visit that man, the h is scared to be caught? maybe the hero is not greek actually, and i got it mixed up

The author is probably carole mortimer, charlotte lamb, violet winspear, yvonne whittal, michel reid, diana hamilton, anne mather or margaret rome/ pargeter cuz it's all i have for old school romance

Oh my gosh yes, it's the Honey is bitter, thank you soo much!!as you said it doesnt much completely, i tend to forget so the plots get mixed up in my head!
Again thaaank you, you saved me from a week's headache, this is great

I'm so glad.

This is a good site to help find books. Just type different word combinations in the summery/description.

Oh my god yes it's Response by Penny Jordan, thank you sooo much Belle, i get so frustrated when i can't find a book!

O wow this is so great, i's gonna be so helpful for someone as forgetful as me; Thank you!

"The Winter Heart" does not have an Indian Hero. Did you by chance mix up the title?

This is the Harlequin Presents thread. You may have better luck posting your question on the Historical threads.
I do have one suggestion for you. Look at Patricia Grasso's To Catch A Countess. The h was dyslexic and everyone made fun of her.

Is it one of these?
